  • All of the red decor came from Linda Thompson herself. In fact, it led to their break up. Not his drug use or cheating, but because she posed for photos in a magazine in Graceland while it was this awful red.

  • Yes cbreeze. The inside was red when Elvis died. Priscilla had it redecorated to look much like it did when she lived there.

  • The pictures in this are really not that good of the red period. The blue and white is much prettier though. Most of the pictures of the red period are polariods. I'm sure many of us remember how dark they came out. I was at the viewing and the house was not ugly. It just looked lived in. There was carpet squares stuck on one door though & the outside grounds were not kept up like they are now. It's still a neat house and not as big as people might think.

  • When I visited Graceland in June 09 the stair carpet was white/cream and the dining room was blue. The jungle room was there when Priscilla was but the pool room was done with the material after she left. I saw her saying so on a dvd on You Tube

  • more pix in rareelvispresley com

  • This is Graceland during the Red Era, designed by Linda Thompson. And when P. took over she redesigned it.

  • when are these photos from, and who took them?

is the house is it is today how it was at his death, or how it was when priscilla lived there?

i am pretty sure the jungle room for instance happened after she left.

  • I gotta say, that the red makes it look like a cheap bordello, it's way too much, evidently Linda had no taste. For whatever it's worth, I think it looks much more beautiful now, didn't Priscilla restore the house to the way it was originally when she lived there with him? Somebody help me out on this one. Thanks for posting this great piece of Elvis history, God bless you Elvis, 31 years today, but I remember hearing the news as if it was yesterday.

  • The red would have been good if it was subtle, red and white all not that bad, its the red furniture, and gold that made it look so bad, if the carpet was white with red drapes it would have been better, I hated the gold, but the 70's was like that. the blue and white is pretty but again get rid of the gold.

  • Linda said it in a interview. I'll search for it on the web.

  • The blue was from the 1960' It was not blue when Elvis died. Rexbingo is correct.

  • this is how graceland looked at the time of elvis death, pricilla changed it 3 years after vernon died, the graceland interior today is not not elvis, its pricillas

  • I went this past weekend and it is all blue and white. blue was his favorite color, according to the tour people he had it blue and white before he died. he was a fan of redecorating and changed it often.

  • It doesnt matter what the colour is; cos he is nothere to share it with uS!

  • Oh, but he is. Just not as we'd like him to be. God bless and peace.

  • Sorry, I know what you mean; my goodness what would we give to have him back! It just made me smile all the different opinions. WE are of the same opinion though! Many thanks. God bless!

  • Sorry guys, that was for Elvis Gospel!

  • They should have left it this way because that's how it was when he was Last there. Priscilla was the one who wanted changed back to how it was when she lived there, but the blue is good also.

  • Elvis actualy hated all this red. It was ginger alden that did this decorating. Linda thompson said Elvis would avoid that area off the house because he did not like that color.

  • Thanks for the Info man!!!

  • Im sorry but Linda did it in red and Elvis wanted it done in red, where did you hear that ginger did it, she didnt even want to be there.

  • Yeah LadyLisa Ginger spent as little time as possible there, she would leave Graceland and go partying with her friends and old boyfriends, she was only with Elvis for what she could get from him, one example is the house he bought her parents, after Elvis died Ginger and her parents sued the estate to pay off the remaining balance on the house.

  • I know Linda left Elvis after 5 years of living with him.

By the way, I just wonder if anyone has uploaded a vedio of Elvis death anniversary this Aug.16 of 2008. I hope this is a correct date.

  • No, it was Linda who decorated it this way not Ginger.

  • @cbreeze1525 and the white decor, wash that after he passed away ??

  • graceland looks better this way.since then they washed away all the fingerprints

  • Thanks for your video!
