I wonder what the living wright brother thought of when he learned of planes being used for war also on the use of planes to drop bombs. just an idea.
@jcudal32@jcudal32 Orville Wright said that despite the wars, the airplane would bring people closer together and would be known to future generations as an instrument of peace.
@jcudal32 All automobile technology has come out of military aircraft, engine designs, ABS braking system, Injection fuel system, if your car has those, then you are using military technology
Santos Dumont was the first one to fly an engine airplane with its own impulse in 12 november 1906, the 14-Bis, which won the french airclub contest and reconigzed as the first one to fly an engined boosted airplane , NOT WRIGHT BROTHERS, they were the first ones to fly an NON ENGINE airplane, boosted by a take-off ramp, really, i dont see no airplanes nowadays taking off in a ramp, sorry, SANTOS WINS! FATHER OF AVIATION!
@ricksk81993 do u see wood and fabric planes flying today? no, and this does not mean the father of aviation was the first to build an aluminum aircraft!
and any plane taking off from a carrier use a catapult still today.
i really cannot get your point, it sounds like silly and out of place patriotism.
sorry dude wright brothers win because THEY made flying a reality with a MANEUVERABLE non- suicidal machine. The general public only started accepting this invention because the wright brothers proved flying is not just a stunt! Thanks to their bicycling understanding of banking!
Having said that I'm sure Santos helped to at least inspire the wright brothers to go on.
14 a first single-engine plane to fly farther and higher than the Wright brothers. The plane was the Wright brothers launched the catapult, so need help to fly!
@logoRH Ok, I'm willing to entertain this but please state your sources. I have heard everything from Santos Dumont to Sven and Ole on a flying roto tiller near Folda Minnesota back in 1877. So far, none have any credibility, but again please state your sources.
Thank you for posting. Wonder what they would think of aviation today. Would they complain about a flight delays when we can cross the country in hours and sit in comfort by any standards.
@vivek00 Innovation is a one man thing, the Wright brothers' original aerodynamic design has only been improved by about 5% in 100 years of aviation evolution, and computer simulation, that means they were aerodynamically speaking, 95% right at their time!!
