It has some 200+ PCM drum samples which can be manipulated. And a pretty nice synth engine which includes a fair number of PCM samples of piano, organ etc. Basicly you have all the sounds you'll need for ANY style of music you desire to make. That the range of videos on youtube is limited doesnt mean that the machine is limited. Learn to truly program and play it, and you can make ANYTHING. Imho it's the single most powerful music-making tool out there save for much more complex computerprograms

hey mate, let me give you a wee bit of decision help with this:

- if you're a DJ, go for the KP3.

- if you're a producer, go for this puppy.

the reasoning behind this is that the electribe is way better when it comes to creating sound, whereas the KP3 is light years ahead when it comes to interacting with existing sound (from a turntable or a cd player, that is).

Just go into global. And change the arpeggiator to reverse instead of normal.

And voila. The slider controls speed, and the ribbon controls pitch. It's pretty swag.

I don't see why that's not the normal way.

the emx does not sample that is what the esx does. this is not controlled by a computer. its hardware man! press record and record with the key buttons or arp its easy! And i doubt they are presets.
