okay well if the octopus dont feel anything why why the 2nd one the lady cut was moving it's tentacles all over the place? it was trying to move it's legs from being cut again but she kept going....and then went for the eyeballs and the brains...thats awful....that octopus probably wishes it can cut her legs in pieces and see if she tries to move when he's trying to cut her legs off......if she moves she must feel something...as do animals...

Nerve endings are still in the tentacles after they are removed which is why they still move. That's why if you rip a worm in half, the side that doesn't have a brain still squirms.

I'm guessing that these tentacles are do not require a central nervous system to move. So, it has some pace maker cells which initiate depolarizations that travel as a current across the muscle cells, causing them to contract and thus wiggle. (Ca+ influx into cardiac muscle as a result, and the powerstroke of the myosin on the actin using ATP etc.) A similar example in humans would be your heart. Your heart would keep on beating even if I ripped it from your thoracic cage.
