  • POWERFUL.

  • why cant people understand that punk ISN'T skate rock? :P

  • This is such a happy song, but it's about something kinda depressing. XD

  • I heard this song on Rodney Mullen vs Dawon song almost round 3, it was Rodney Mullen's skate scene

  • Thumbs up if you don't give a shit where people heard it first.

  • @redhockey Too late. I've got my own after I kept nicking my dad's.

  • This song is my favorite.... ,was driving to work one day kind of depressed because well i was going to work, then all of sudden this song came on the radio and just put me in the best mood.

  • @figbat1 ARE YOU SERIOUS??? THE CLASH ROCK. PLEASE. YOU CANT SAY THEY DONT HAVE TALENT IFYOU WROTE THE SONG. WANNA KNOW WHY? CAUSE THEY WROTE THE FUCKIN SONG!!! THEY HAVE WRITTING TALENT. YOUR JUST SAYING THAT CAUSE OF JOE STRUMMERS VOICE!!!

  • @figbat1 you make me sick.

  • @figbat1 you've not understood the spirit of this band.

  • @TheDidiFerr ...spirit?....how about a very cheap gin with a nasty aftertaste....i just dont see how this album can be no 8. in roling stones top 500 albums of all time....when i dont like the songs very much.

  • @figbat1 De gustibus...

  • @figbat1 You came here just to bash a band that ceased to exist a few decades ago? Damn you Bill Gates with your "a computer in every home" nonsense

  • @mprifasiempre ......actually i think this song has a lot of potential....if they had only produced it a bit more it could have gone to number one for sure.......but that is the clash all over.....they never had the nous of the pistols who knew how to make a great record.....they always settled for mr. 75%.

  • @figbat1 This was a single for the Clash though, it was their first single to reach the top 30 charts in the states.

  • Jack Black in school of rock, on his blackboard of rock history, looked up the clash and came across this. cheers jack black

  • @popy0123 Nicely done. Check out Wrong 'em Boyo, same album.

  • I was blsessed to come of age when The Clash ruled the world. Long live The Clash.

  • If you are listening to this song and not moving some part of your body to the beat, you are dead.

(Technically you could not be listening then, but you get my point)

  • (A) I saw 500 days of summer, great film (b) This is a great song..........but i don't remember hearing this song in that movie...i remember other songs from it but, not this and i'm mystified why people are mentioning the connection......(Q) What part of the movie did the song appear, anyone?????????

  • @008maguire Tom sings it at the karaoke bar

  • @008maguire The boy sings it drunk at the karaoke, when he is dating some random girl to forget Summer

  • ARGH I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!

  • The Clash are one of the best rock bends of all time and this is perhaps their best song... just saying.

  • @eilamlam1 AGREED

  • can't stop listening to the clash!!

  • my band will play this

  • As I am only 14, I heard this song in NCAA 06

  • i have yet to see 500 days of summer... but then i didn't have a gf to make me sit down for that movie...

anyway, i love this song, its rather poppy and not punk. you all should probably cool it with the i listened it way before hipsters shit blah blah hipsters blah blech!

    *fart*

  • @x3somevanillasex and fuck nobody start a whats punk discussion. this is a great pop punk song if we must label it and thats that. now poop in ur pants.

  • I dont see what the big deal is about hating on fans of 500 days of summer? I loved and listened to this song years before that even came out, but I think that a new audience hearing it is not a bad thing at all. Good movie too. If anything the purests here are acting like the exclusive "i heard it first" wannabes that they condemn. You arent any different from hipster assholes if you act like them. I think everyone should just agree that the Clash and this song are both fuckin amazing!!

  • ive been litsening to this before the hipsters did and ill be litsening to it after they get over it.

  • thumbs up if you loved this song before "500 days"

  • @malleusss555 What the heck is "500 days"? Is that a movie flick?

  • @mistergrin 500 days of summer not a bad movie, very good music

  • Comment removed

  • @Bozionjr Oh right! I love that film, but sadly I don't remember this song being played in the movie though. I do remember the song "Asleep" by the smiths most definitely, lol.

  • @malleusss555 wtf is 500 days

  • Happy Birthday, Joe...

  • Rodney Mullen and the clash are the two best things on the internet.

  • I have the original album, when I first bought it I looked for this song, as it was a big club hit. I still have it after all these years. Still is one of the best LPs. EVER.

  • @erikbear9 i fucking agree man 100%

  • who cares if its mainstream or not?? good music = good music...

  • The Beatles & The Clash are the two most important bands ever as far as I'm concerned. : )

  • the clash ...musical genius's

  • Puts my mind at ease, every fukin time. thnx fellas

  • 4 people need to be drawn and quartered.

  • best song of london calling

  • How come i hear this song it makes me think of Rodney mullen in the almost round 3 video.

  • Rest In Peace, Joe.

  • i wasnt going to comment but to call the clash sell outs? sure combat rock and cut the crap were a bit too mainstream but the punk rock was finished and at the time you certainly couldnt find fault with BAD.just right for the time

  • Ever wanna dance when you're sad?

  • Comment removed

  • @zachuto why/how did they turn out to be sell outs??

  • @zachuto hacked*

  • @zachuto fuck u

  • I give these guys a thumbs up and go so far as to say they are one of the greatest bands ever.

  • Thanks for answering that age old mystery of the song's origin and appearance, we always thought it was a nod to how easy pop tunes were and like it was a throwaway none of the band cared about.

  • no one to fill his shoes rip joey

  • @MrKat22 Probably a Lady GaGa fan.

  • @lastrada52 Probably a Adam Lambert fan.

  • rip joey

  • these guys were so cool

  • Excelent song....

  • Mick sang the pop songs, Joe spit out the punk stuff.

  • lyrics are perfect

  • @thejkelly23 Same here...

  • This song describes EXACTLY how I feel right now.

  • Great song, great band.

  • man i cant believe that Joe Strummer died in 2002 R.I.P this will always be real Punk rock not this fake modern crap that poses as Punk

  • love love loveee it<3

  • This song always makes me want to dance, I can't help it!

  • I'm a girl and I know this song is dedicated to a girl by a man but I wanna dedicate it to my now ex boyfriend!

You ruined my life as I knew it idiot!!!!!!!!

  • I almost started crying when I heard this in 500 days of summer. I don't want this amazing song to be anywhere near that hipster wannabe tryingtohardtobeindie bullshit.

    "No not at all."

  • @CaramelCamel 500 Days of Summer was a great movie!

  • @CaramelCamel wtf? explain why that amazing punk-indie movie did not rock this song, other than the fact that you're a moron.

  • @CaramelCamel Regardless of how someone gets introduced to it, who cares.

  • @CaramelCamel 500 days is a sick movie

  • @CaramelCamel sounds like someone is getting old and afraid of the new generation taking over...

  • @MrsHouseTakeNewVegas Amen. (500) Days of Summer was a great movie. And "London Calling" is one of the best albums of all time.

  • @MrsHouseTakeNewVegas I'm 14 and I don't want the new generation (Mine) to take over.

  • @FanOfDeadMau5 Sorry ta break it to ya kid, but nobody wants the next generation to take over but it does and will happen. If it didnt, who would keep the music alive? Natural selection at its finest my friend, all the oldies hang up their guitars, retire themselves to a life of knitting and die... while the youngin's repeat the cycle. Its evolution.

  • @FanOfDeadMau5 you don't want the 'new generation' to take over, but your username is 'fan of deadmau5'... Can you see the fail there?

  • @RealOutOfSight I have a wide range of music taste. Deadmau5 happens to be one of them, but as for the new generation, I mean the shit of Lady GaGa and LMFAO, shit like that is what I don't want taking over.

  • @FanOfDeadMau5 too late.

  • @CaramelCamel what part of that movie was this song shown in?

  • this is the best album... i got 2 copies, i dk why

  • @CRAZYmanDan96 I don't know why either—everyone should own at least three.

  • every time i hear this song i think of rodney mullen in the almost: round 3 dvd

  • @miTeeAli yee

  • ( *L*) ...the best song

  • think they sold out with cut the crap maybe sandinista nott this album and give em enough rope is great the clash is great as well cheat cheat deny and londons burning fuckling superb

  • Was there ever a song more laid back and honest than Train in Vain?

    I doub't it.

  • Thats a good song and very funny. Today was a good day.

  • when "selling out" goes right

  • @Rocker095150 "Selling out" The Clash's records weren't selling well, it was a case of 'rock out' before getting 'kicked out'!

  • Another one of my favourite 80's song!!

  • kind of like bruce springsteen for british people.

  • perfect

  • It's ironic how this is a break-up song, yet it sounds all upbeat lol.

  • they r not sellouts. just like green day they wanted there music 2 b heard.and im glad the clash did go mainstream cuz if not there might not b green day or green day would not b the great band that they r. the clash and green day best 2 bands ever

  • damn right they sold out. and made the best most subversive rock and roll album ever.

  • Now I got a job...but it don't pay. I love that line.

  • THIS SONG FUCKING SUCKS wmg remove this shitty song!

  • @super7fanboy faggot

  • @hivesstandard and you listen to poser sellout music

  • @super7fanboy good music you mean

  • @hivesstandard nope this is pop not skinhead! cant you see that?

  • @super7fanboy i didnt say this was skinhead ..

  • @super7fanboy go diee man...

  • @jarrettfla no the pepole who made this song should

  • rodney mullen has great taste in skate songs

  • @dmgamer1228 and this one was a miss its gay

  • @super7fanboy your a loser who no one here obviously likes so get a fucking life u queer

  • @dmgamer1228 BUTT HURT

  • Pokemon stoled this song! the Johto song !!

  • MICKS LAMENT TO HIS EX GAL..

  • this sucks and is gay it sounds like pop not punk what sell outs

  • @super7fanboy The Clash had left the punk scene by the time Londons Calling was recorded and had expanded their sound, I think it's time you too moved on.

  • @Safeness07 no i refuse

  • @super7fanboy your mom is fat

  • @Vesters1 and your a faggot for likeing this song

  • @super7fanboy and your mom is still fat

  • @Safeness07 the clash was never punk..they did there own thing. maybe listen to the music , dont make your decesions by what the critics say..ive read rolling stone and ive heard what you said before

  • @nottippinem My assessment of the clash is my own opinion thanks, I haven't made my decision after reading Rolling Stone magazine, there's more to me than that. You don't know anything about me, so please don't make presumptions about where I get my opinions from, that's all, thanks.

  • @super7fanboy Too bad you can't appreciate The Only Band That Matters. Sucks to be you.

  • @stopperzapper NO this should be skinhead but its not if thay wanted to make a song like this change the band name but no thay are sellouts

  • @super7fanboy So, changing the band name with the style of music is some strange way of magically making them not sellouts? Not like I really care to hear your answer. "Sellouts" or not, I love most of their music, and they're as of now still my favorite band. You're thinking too much of what should and shouldn't be. Sit back, chill, and enjoy music.

  • @super7fanboy FAIL

  • @nanku42 fuck you this song is for pepole who like mainstream music so go watch disney channel mainstream faggot

  • @super7fanboy FAIL x 2. Thats not appropriate language to be using. Thank you for a memorable response. Usually one must go to a bowling alley to meet a cretin of your stature.

  • @super7fanboy just cuz it's a commercially viable song, doesn't mean it isn't great.

  • @EpsilonX yes because there not surposed to be!!!!!! there sellouts thay made these pop songs for the money there like the jonas faggots

  • @super7fanboy dude, you're the only one here that doesn't like this song. why? because it's a great song, you're just butthurt about the fact that they became successful.

  • @EpsilonX NO i hate them because there sellouts the song sucks

  • @super7fanboy like i said, you're the only one who seems to think that.

  • @EpsilonX because you are the type of guys who will listen to mainstream pop music like hanna montana but she isint as bad because she isint a sellout but these fags just made this song to give the middle finger to punks and wanted pepole who dont know good music like you and everybody else

  • @super7fanboy the thing is, I listen to mainstream music yes, because i think it's good. I hate people who only listen to like underground music because it's not mainstream.

anyways, you're saying that if a band starts off making mainstream pop, then they're good, but if a band makes one kind of music then makes more mainstream styled stuff, they suck? that's the stupidest thing ive ever heard

  • @EpsilonX NO i listen to music becuase it sounds good and this makes maintstream stuff id what you call selling out

  • @EpsilonX could not hav said it any better

  • @super7fanboy and btw i do NOT listen to hannah montana.

  • @super7fanboy i listen to music becuase it sounds good and this makes maintstream stuff is what you call selling out

  • @super7fanboy u listen to music because it sounds good, but this is a good song to many many people ur just butthurt because they made a popular song. its the truth, you can't deny it so just stfu and deal. i was hangin out with some punk fans all day and they all like this song

  • i sing this as i walk to school... classic song : )

  • free snoop dogg the hague

  • ANI: you said you loove me i love this song STAND BY MEE

  • I wonder how anybodey can call this band A PUNK its more funk then punk

  • @MrHanyB u should check out London Calling or Should i stay ot should i go before u start calling these guys funk

  • @MegaAmazing19 or rudie can't fail

  • @MegaAmazing19 Punk is: Ramones, US Bombs, Television and so ... NOT Sex Pistols NOT Clash. Punk is not about what you wear or how you look, like Sex Pistols, but about simplicity in music in fashion in your mind and i doubt that Clash are simple thet would offence me if i where they.
