Those cases with the electricity going off reminded me of some stories which say that after the Earth will go into a new era (after 2012), there will be no electricity on our planet anymore and we'll have to find other sources of energy and ways to power our devices. It sounded like a crazy idea, but what if that is what's going to happen and those ships are from that kind of world and the electrical devices get turned off not on purpose but because the ships radiate that unknown to us energy..?
