  • Not fair to have any bandwidth cap and threatening phone calls unwelcome!

  • Comcast even censors words like nazis and gestapo on their forums! They call them naughty or bad words!

  • Why don't you get Comcast Business Class internet. If you are going to use the computer as if you where working then upgrade your service. Then you will be happy & can stop crying.I have worked for both companies AT&T & Comcast. They both cap you. If they didn't you could sale internet to everyone on your block.

  • unlimited data plan...lol.... i went off on the guy... when he called me... i said there is a limit to your unlimited data

  • comcast is money yum yum taste good money!!!

  • im a subscriber and a liker COMCAST SUCKS FUCK YOU COMCAST!!!

  • USE AT&T THERE IS NO CAP AND NO LIMIT!!!

  • COMCAST SUCKS COMCAST SUCKS COMCAST SUCKS COMCAST SUCKS ASK ME WHY!!! COMCAST RAPES NODES FROM AT&T AND THEN THE NODES BECOME INFECTED BY COMCASTIBYTES! COMCAST SUCKS!!!

  • 250 GB isn't anything anyway. For crying out loud, if we many times need 1 and 2 TB hard drives to store things, just what exactly do they think people are going to do. Also, if they are offering such super speed, what exactly do they think people need it for if they are going to have such a low limited usage allowance? It's just that, to download massive files quickly. I only have DSL and most likely download tons more data than that in any month, sometimes, any given week.

  • Just wanted to let everyone know that there is an option: Comcast Business Class internet. I went over my limit the first month my family got Netflix and I called and asked for an alternative. Now I have double the speed of residential internet and it's about the same price with NO BANDWIDTH CAP!!

  • Furthermore, if that same plant upgrades to Docsis 3.0 which bonds 4 downstream channels, you will have less of an impact on the node because modems will switch to the next less used channel. But keep in mind, they have to free up 3 extra 5mhz wide channels to instate Docsis 3 which means running switch digital or deleting channels. Both of which can piss more customers off and/or cost the company millions to upgrade and take up to a year.

  • LOL all this dude's vids are about how much comcast sux. The moron needs to just move on and find another provider if its so bad what he's got right now.

  • @roakamun this is not capitalism. false advertising has become the norm for industry and politics - It is sad that most are ecstatic to pay $55 for internet in a country that has a developed telephonic network.. same ones were were happy to pay "long distance" charges before lol! that in reality DID NOT EXIST. Soon roaming fees will be reviewed - but the telephone lobby is still strong effectively using us against one another - and we do just that:)

  • thanks, your doing public service.

also i think this market is being monoplize to much, i hope google soon gives like free ultra fast internet.. or at least very cheap.

one day were going unlimited. i hope.

  • After watching your vid, I checked my usage. I am at 236 Mbps this month. Granted I live on Hulu and YouTube, but that is what I pay for. I will continue to download whatever I want too limit or no.

Comcast can kiss it in the middle. I KNOW the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I know I can "squeak" louder than most. I grantee I have all day to yell at them face to face. I like the direct rout, as in their modem shoved where... well u know. Usually the stupid way, but in the end I feel better. lol

  • @mrchewtoy1 236 Mbps? Milli bytes per second? Computer usage is measured by Comcast in Giga bytes per month. I have my usage meter open in another tab right now. I'm allowed 250 gigs per month. I used 36 in Sept. 39 in Oct. 39 in Nov. and I'm at 42 so far in Dec. I'm on YouTube constantly almost every day, sites like YouTube and Hulu use almost zero bandwidth. I use torrents also, they are a different story. I've uploaded 2 gigs of one torrent so far this month.

  • @NengVang2007

Most likely you'll get a letter and a warning. Sometimes they do call. If you do it again, they'll probably boot you off the network for a year. A client of mine got a letter first and then without warning, they got disconnected.

They called Comcast and was put onto to a scumbag company that supposedly monitored the connection and found excessive usage. When I checked the router logs and all computers in the house I could not find any proof of high usage. That did not matter.

  • @darreno1450 well i can't do no thing. now it went from 499Gb to 790Gb now.

  • They kicked you off for downloading a bunch of torrents and probably a bunch of gay porn, get a life instead of bitching about shit that happened 3 years ago

  • look at AOL thay were spying on peoples accounts. like comcast is doing now. its like google thay could easly sell or spy on you. AOL got shut down because of this. comcast is doing the same thing. SOON JUST SOON. comcast will change there name and it will be owned by someone else. you are right my friend. and my thought about a limit is there should be no limit. its your computer your service your life yours yours yours. so what if you download a lot. COMCAST SCAMS PEOPLE LEFT AND RIGHT.

  • not sure what it is now, but I know i've broken that limit nearly 2x over in 3 weeks. sorry you got the early backlash but things have changed.

  • The 'hogging' the network claim is bullshit. It was shown recently that only the last mile or so is supposedly affected. What they're trying to do is fight services like Netflix. For those who think 250 gigs is plenty, it's chickenfeed if you use streaming services like Netflix, Amazon prime etc. I switched away from Cumcast to U-Verse. Yeah they have a cap too, but they don't kick people off their network. They charge $10 for every 50 gigs over the limit. Cumcast and Cocks cable both suck!

  • @darreno1450 Recently shown where? If you could see a SolarWinds report from a node, it will show you that just a few high load users will cap the overhead and lock other users out. It sucks but if you want to get out of it, either get a business line or go to another company, but make sure you read the fine print.

  • @roakamun

Before switching to U-Verse I used Comcast for years and never got locked out. However if what you are saying is correct, then most likely it's a problem with the way the node is configured or there are too many users on that node. If Comcast can offer me a >100mpbs connection then there's obviously a lot of bandwidth to go around.

Right now I'm extremely happy with U-Verse and so far I have not been hassled about usage. Comcast can suck it.

  • @roakamun

    "Recently shown where?"

It made the news and there were many blogs/articles about it. If you search you'll find it.

  • @darreno1450 We can go back and forth for months. Blogs and articles are always true? The internet never lies? I'm in the business (not with ComCast) and I deal with this everyday. Large bandwidth users affect the overhead of a node and if you get 3-4 large users on a 750-1000mhz plant especially running Docsis 2.0 you will lock out other users on said node or create intermittent connectivity issues, and if you do that enough times, you will get booted, which is why caps are there.

  • @roakamun

Do you have any idea how many use streaming services like Netflix or download music/videos these days? 3 or 4 large users is nothing today. I'm willing to bet there are quite a bit more high bandwidth users on a node. I still don't buy their BS.

Anyway why argue? I have no issues with U-Verse and I keep getting offers from Comcast to come back which I use to wipe my ass with!

  • @roakamun

Also with 4g LTE and other high speed cellular based services rolling out across the nation, the day will soon come when a majority of the country could get wireless service at blazing speeds almost everywhere. I've tested it down here and it's impressively fast. When this comes to fruition which is very soon, we'll see how many get booted off Comcast for 'hogging' the node. They'll be begging people to stay. Oh yeah, all of sudden these bandwidth problems will suddenly disappear.

  • @darreno1450

Could be, and 4g is great! But keep in mind, 4g runs off of cable/fiber of local ISP providers. We just upgraded our cable plant and freed up 3 extra QAMs for docsis 3 and run residential at 100meg. By the end of the 1st quarter we will offer 270meg. Also, we carry the load for all 3g and 4g cellular connections here in this area on our network.

I really sympathize with the cap some ISP's impose. I would hate it myself. And yes, they should make it more upfront.

  • Kicking people off like that is a hidden rule that results to lawsuits. Like one guy gets a open immediate by Comcast saying nothing about pay now, but listed on there that you downloaded 135 mp3s and/or 30 mpeg4 movies off the internet. They also said that they can shut down your service and will call local authorities. Pff more like the FBI for piracy Comcast a**holes. Using your network for video and indie music sharing will result in 5 years of federal prison w/o going over the limit. WTF!!!

  • @TVLastCall How about me you asswipe? Am I doing something sketchy? Because im hitting that cap to and correct me if im wrong, but my youtube account looks like Ive been uploading video game walkthroughs. Yes, so sketchy that people actually might do things like use the internet to try to make a living, hrmm?

  • @SOEgame That's what a business line is for. Average residential users use less than 20gb a month.

  • @roakamun I called them up, went through a bunch of people and gave them shit while calling them out for all their fucked up practices. No more problems here.

  • Its almost like there running an insurance company. They make promises but when you do more than they expect, they don't want to hold up to there end of the deal.

  • I kinda get his point but damn... 250gb a month? For real? Do you have a job? A life? That's a lot of data for a month, and don't hand me that crap about webcam/opensource software, that's bullshit and you know it. Just admit you use uTorrent and pirate music/movies/software. I run 2 game servers on the same box that don't use 1/3 that rate.

  • @roakamun Be very careful about accusing someone. The point he is making is that there is a claim by Comcast that they cannot keep.

  • @ivangohome Careful? How so?

  • @roakamun Watch two netflix movies a day and watch a few youtube videos, and download a album from itunes every so often, and you'll go over every month., Also game servers never use alot of bandwith.

  • @MinpAndCorey4Eva Your a fucking joke. you can watch netflix all day and not go over that limit. know what your talking about before you start making shit up

  • @BEEFoley Oh? absolutely no need to insult someone because of your own stupidity, i do know what i'm talking about, If anything ,the 250 GB cap is a joke. "get a life instead of bitching about shit that happened 3 years ago" You're the one that's complaining on a video that was uploaded @ Sep 7, 2008.

  • @MinpAndCorey4Eva You watch 60 movies a month? Wow, I would never have that kind of time and would run out of decent movies in a few weeks. I agree that ComCast is shafting you, but you have to look at it from their end too, 1 customer is not worth losing 4-5 others, and yes, it does put a strain on the node your house it attached to, I don't care what anyone else says. A node powers about 200-500 homes.

  • @roakamun Brothers, sisters & parents; "I don't care what anyone else says. " Mhm. nuff' said.

  • comcast is terrible. i got billed after canceling my service and moving out of my house for at least a month and a half

  • fuck comcast! Switch to AT&T U-verse. You get great customer service, fast internet, more HD channels than comcast, and it's about the same HD picture quality than comcast so, i don't know if that's good or bad thing to some people. Oh, and the best part, IT'S CHEAPER! :)

  • I'm on your side one this CELVELTECH. It's a JOKE. I was watching Netflix, video conferencing with my family in Australia, & transferring my data from my computer to my work computer & suddenly out of the blue I hit their so called 250 gb limit. It was only 2 weeks into their service. My family each has their own Netflix, ipod, & laptop. We are kinda tech freaks and this CAP is so bad.

Anyways I was forced to be on their business internet and had to pay 50-60 bucks more. Add me to the list!

  • "i don't care what your terms of service are" ...then why did you agree to them? you tihnk 250GB is unreasonable? you're an idiot, and just because you can't read isn't comcast's fault

  • @CLEVELTECH...so...what exactly has happened since then? did you decide to go with FIOS where you get your own "network" that isn't "shared"

  • @CLEVELTECH dude other carriers have much smaller limits (clearwire 3G is 5GB for example/ verizion air card max subscription is 10GB for $80/mth) and 250GB is part of an "acceptable usage policy" because if you hog the network it can create a bad experience for other users on the same node. Its not perfect but its part of the terms of that service. I use clear 4G which is unlimited so i recommend that but damn dude, its not a big deal.. move on with life and quit bitchin! just sayin

  • @jwkruser how old are you? just cause someone uses alot of bandwith doesnt mean they download porn. and regular user? what the guy that just checks his email and gets on facebook for 10 minutes? what defines regular user? youd be suprised how fast you can download past a limit, Movies, open source software, or even doing things like video blogging, especialy HD, and calling someone a name based on there looks just makes you look bad. and makes people think your trying to cover something up.

  • Lol even if you get an infringement letter big deal they dont enforce that shit...the courts would be filled 10 miles down the road in every major town if they did...and the caps dont mean anything either...they dont do anything...at&t says after three times of exceeding it then its 10$ for every extra 10 gb's.....yada yada yada....do you know how much info is transmitted by downloading uploading (illegally) everyday? Extreme extreme amounts

  • So true fuck Comcrap and censorship.

  • Comcast doesnt care wat you think and do if you decide to jump ships. They have bigger issues to tackle besides your complains. Dont take me wrong i understand where you coming from.

  • How the hell?? Comcast sucks!! I hate them, never had them... I hate them!! I got DSL nice and fast baby!! screw cable

  • Comcast business has unlimited Bandwidth for just $10 more a month and you pay no regional taxes.

  • @panduitjacks oh? ahhhh boooooooooooooooo! I will stick with my DSL baby.. fiber opitc.. oh yeah!

  • @panduitjacks sorry you can't do for residential, that is stupidity.

  • CLEVELTECH downloads gay child porn and has been arrested, LOL watch your children

  • this was to be effect in 2008 first of october, they had a 600gb limit before that

  • Netflix streams at 1.5mb/s, about 0.00146 Gb/s. Multiply that by 60 seconds, it equals 0.0876 gigabytes per minute. Multiply 0.0876 gigabytes per minute by the average TV show length of 45 minutes you get 3.942, equal to 4 gigabytes per 45 minute TV show episode. 62 TV show episodes per month, equals to only two TV show episodes per day, or 23 movies per month. My two year old causes me to go WAY over the cap from watching a few kid shows everyday and maybe a Disney movie. COMCAST BLOWS.

  • @scotthallowood Bandwidth rates tend to be given in megabits/s for some reason, so you actually have to divide by 8 to translate to bytes. So, assuming that situation, that's about 500 MB per episode (which sounds about right, if you're not talking about serious HD video).

I suspect it's still easy to exhaust 250 GB/year, of course.

  • COMCAST USES TACTICS CALLED "DECEPTIVE PRACTICES" THEY CAN'T OFFER WHAT THEY CLAIM THEY CAN, SO THEY JUST LIE!!! THEY WILL STOP GROWING AND START DYING!!! THE LAWSUITS ARE PILING UP. THEY MONITOR AND STORE BIZZARE COMMENTS ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS. THEY ATTACK PEOPLE FOR LEAVING TRUTHFUL COMMENTS ONLINE. YES, YOU WILL BE AMAZED THE CRAZY THINGS THEY PLACE IN YOUR FILE. THEY MONITOR YOUR COMPUTER FOR COMMENTS AGAINST THEM. THEY WANT YOU TO SUFFER IN SILENCE.

  • @cliax That is the biggest bunch of BS I've ever heard. Every large company is going to have lawsuits because cheap skates are trying to rip them off. Comcast has no way to monitor your comments. though they will occasionally work with the FBI and local law enforcement agencies to stop child porn and the like. But yes they run background checks and store info about your credit score of back payments you owe them this is called loss prevention every big company does it so get a life man.

  • @YoTommy1 You should consider the intellectual background of a person you choose to argue with so you do not make a mockery of yourself. You reveal a host of things which I don't choose to explore. Comcast agree they store in their computers perceptions of their clients, and judgements of atitudes. These come from inept Comcast employees sent out to homes. You mentioned "back payments" with unique reference to loss prevention. How many people do you find? Is it usually after a digital event?!

  • @cliax I'm sitting here in awe of your total egotistical belligerence. Whist I'm considering the misguided hate of the farce you believe. Simple facts that you deem unworthy of consideration and thereby ignore from your lofty heights of intellect. You are shrewd that I will give you. But the blind detestation that you cower behind is most amusing. So I will leave you to your Bête noire of Comcast and move on. Why? The answer is excessively simplistic so I leave it to your almighty Intellect

  • @YoTommy1 The heights to which you take interest in me, your use of "particular" terms, and the relentless efforts with which you represent comcast, even to the point of making threats, is unprecedented in its alignment with the need to pore into you in any legal quest to my interest, or to that of anyone else here. As people read our comments, whether we are continents apart or not, they will begin to see a pattern from you. The fact that comcast is inept is everywhere. Your affiliation isn't.

  • fuck comcast

  • I would just tell them to go right ahead and turn my service off so I could go to verizon and see what they say to that.

  • @MrMutterz they might charge you with a cancellation fee, which they have been known to do.

  • Bro, I feel your pain but it's up to you to read the terms and conditions! If you were that pissed about it and apparently run a server, why didn't you sign up for business class service? Their is no cap, faster speeds than offered to residential and you get a static ip witch in not available to residential subscribers! Just saying man, I don't complain that my lease agreement says in small print that I can't have a dig over 100 lbs, I read the small print before I agreed to it!!

  • @Danhilsheimer They still advertise as "unlimited" internet, which is what he signed up for. It just seems deliberately deceptive.

  • to buy me a new tv ,and i am just 1 subscriber and that is for less than a year and these fucking cheap fucks are giving me a hardtime when it wouldnt even cost them a year of giving me free service to repplace my tv and im just 1 customer,i dont know what to do,not that i would want a year of free service ,id want the whole cost of the tv upfront right away,

  • so when i turn the tv off i can see the # and the nickle glowing on the screen with the tv off,so i immediatly call and complain to them that they have just ruined my 2000$tv

&they schedule somone 2 come look at it ,the kid sais oh it will go away and the damage isnt that bad, wait a month and see if it goes away, now i am stuck with a ruined plasme tv that they refuse to pay for & its only a yr old,i fucking pay almost 170$for their shitty service multiply that by 12,its more than enough for them

  • on another note my comcast cable went out in the middle of the night,& i had fell asleep watching tv,my brand new 50"panasonic plasma tv,but the cable didnt just go out and go to black, the last image before it went out froze and was stuck on the screen,a 1-800#comercial for a buffalo nickel where the whole screen is blue except the huge white pphone# and a pic of the nickle,so then i wake up in the middle of the night &realize my cable has froze &turn off the tv after the channel wouldnt change

  • There is a way to track you down, do you think they just give you the service and they can not see what are you doing? Do you know how all works? Basically you transmit the packets with your internet IP address to the central access node, which eventually transmits it to the internet, but there are servers made to analyse the data of each packet to make statistics,

If they call you is to warn you, but they will never take the service out lol. Dont believe them, just want to scare you...

  • Of course they can look personal statistics. and they are not upgrading the lines, but already they are taking out since several years the analog channels to gain BANDWIDTH, since the digital signal is restricted to a smaller bandwidth use.

If you analyse RF Theory on the coaxial cable, you will see some limitations on the coaxial cables, mainly because of the resistive of the cable due to the dielectric, since if you use higher frequencies to transmit you could cause the cable to overheat

  • Fuck Comcast's 250gb limit. How am I supposed to play OnLive without worrying about the fucking data cap?

  • @markakajin you also accepted the terms of service if you can't read it's not comcast's fault

  • @YoTommy1

Of course, I can read. It's just that I'm too busy doing other things and wouldn't want to waste time reading the whole damn thing like you probably did already! =P

  • @markakajin Not Comcast's fault bro but still legally binding.... And no I didn't read the whole thing I just scanned it.

  • I had to shut off one of my weather stations cause it was consuming bandwidth and at January 17th I already consumed 22 GB out of 250 GB. Why can't we get this cap to 1 TB a month, 250 GB is the same size as our hard drives in our computers. This is total control of our internet access. I support net neutrality and unlimited bandwidth.

  • @gccengineering1996 you accepted the terms of service of your own free will. If you didn't like it why did you accept it???

  • at least you upgraded your apartment.. w00t

  • 2 things.. if your not seeding for torrents, you wont hit this cap, unless you have a malware on your machine. they can see your useage, individually. second this guy is a jackass.. the infrastructure is always being evaluated and upgraded.. good luck with your suit

  • I believe it's called a fair usage policy. All ISPs have them even mobile phone providers.

  • Comacst and there stupid Data Usage limit.

  • Comacst and there stupid Data Usage limit.

  • You, buddy, are one nice looking guy.

  • Dude comcast sucks Asssss. When I had comcast the fucking Internet never worked. I had to call customer service almost everyday. A bought almost 5 modems and the Internet still din't work.

  • I've had comcast for several years, and I have just recently been enlightened about comcast's crappiness. Two days ago, nearly ALL comcast subscribers lost internet because of comcast's crappy infrastructure. Also there is the net neutrality problems.

  • comcast sucks major dick

  • I have had Comcast for several years now. When I had problems, they were quick to fix them. I have a NetFlix acount with unlimited instant watch. I have it playing entire multi-season shows, or movies playing 12 to 18 hours a day. I also have a MSDNAA account where I can LEGALLY download Microsoft operating systems (5-7 gig each). I download different releases of Linux operating systems. (multi-gig downloads) I have never gotton a call from them saying I am using too much bandwidth.

  • To continue, Comcast has a usage meter on the accounts page at comcast.com that shows your usage for the month and I have never gone over 200 gig. By the way, I have run a web server at times also. Most, but NOT all people that go over the limit are most likely are running torrent servers or are downloading tons of music, movies, or software. I have friends that have been cut off due to the limit break and they every one of them admitted they did it on purpose by downloading torrents

  • I worked for Insight communications from 2000-2005 which was bought out by Comcast in 2006, a year after Insight fired me while I was on worker's comp. for an injury substained at work in the warehouse. I can say this 4 a FACT. The whole 5 yrs I worked @ Insight they had a 3% rate increase EVERY DAMN YEAR and tried to validate this to customers due to system upgrades. The last yr. I was there in 2005 they FINALLY upgraded the servers Aafter 5 years of unjust 3% rate increases. They're thieves!

  • they booted me. i hope comcast gets there asses sued.

  • If you go over 250 gig you are a bandwidth hog. People like you want them to upgrade their plant but then you guys bitch when they ask you to pay more. Because of people like you ISPs will soon do away with unlimited servive for all of us. Ass-wipe......

  • Cleveltech, you sir are a complete idiot.

  • be careful with pirate bay. You are being monitored out there. HD video our out there. So there should be no limite. The data with HD Videos data that it takes is large . Will see what happpens

  • be careful with pirate bay. You are being monitored out there.

  • LOL ill do 250GB in a week!

  • im a comcast installer ,,,wat I hear from you and wat I can say out of the back is that hope you are not goin beyond the residencial nodes carry for the few homes that runs of that node. which is straight up internet webcam, surfing and some downloading but is looks like you are doing beyond legal suff .you take them to court hope they dont see and caught any illegal downloads.

  • I wanta test this im buy a 2TB hard drive and wait for a call. Hello Pirate Bay!

  • If using the internet like most you will only use at the most 20% of the cap. When you go over 250GB in 1 month, 8.33GB a day it can been seen as downloading illegal content. Nobody seems to read the ussage agreement. It states your cap in there. If you were to go to court with comcast about them cuting you off. I have no doubt that they will bring your usage history. I dont know 100% if thats true but if they were to i would hope there were no illegal torrents in that history

  • Hi my name is Shane And i work for comcast as a field Tech. Just trying to offer some insite. Ok so the info you have about nodes is a little scewed. Our fiber is ran to our nodes and there is a node every few naighbor hoods. Fiber offers more then enough band width for our subscribers. There has been a 250GB cap on residental and no cap on bussiness. If you are doing normal day to day internet stuff. Example: webcams, email, surfing.

  • I've had no problems with Comcast. I get good moneys worth out of my HD TV in two rooms and basic cable in 2 rooms, phone and 30/12 internet.

  • fk yea bro fk comcast like my parents got the TV/internet package with comcast and i mean fking wow like the signal goes and comes whenever it feels like it "JOIN XFINITY FOR FASTER INTERNET,MORE DOWNLOADS, AND BETTER SERVICE" i mean REALLY!!! come on dont BS on ur commercials dude keep checking my channel ima upload a vid bout this if the internet allows me to do so!

COMCAST = fail service, internet, commercials!!!! fk comcast all the way

  • Yes, they know how much you are downloading. It is true, a friend of mine is going crazy because now he ran out of giga and he has to wait till the next month to have internet again!

  • Simple as this, if you paid for unlimited service as it stated, you should be able to get unlimited service. But beware of pending bills, they tried charging me for both tv and internet (of which used to be on separate bills) at the time it was shut off & I did not use it. In this class action suit that you have pending, CLEVEL TECH , you should also put in the summons & complaint, for false advertising due to them limiting your bandwidth when you paid for unlimited bandwidth.

  • network netruality all the way!

  • I download like crazy, play games, upload eBay pictures & often uncompressed youtube vids via Comcasts Performance plan, you name it! 14 hrs. a day/night, 7 days per week,, & my highest usage was in June 2010 at just under 20gb, normally I avg. 13-17 gb. per month while I don't like to be "fenced in" by a limit 250 gigs?!?! how do you attain that?

  • they don't even want to spend the money to get more employees in there local stores when the lines are out the door... insted they'd rather have long lines that go out the door

  • You realize in Canada we dont even have plans that exceed 100gigs amonth and most users only use like 2 to maybe 40gigs amonth. Ive used 86 at the most. But dude using almost 700gigs, stop making the internet yer whole life.

Its funny complaining, but not realizing how good you have it.

  • @Dieverse08 yea we have it good but comcast takes that away from us... so we don't have it so good... we PAY for this crap most ISP here have no limit what so ever and we pay for that.. comcast advertises it well when i first got the service advertised it to me as unlimited and promised it would never limit but now its limited all of a sudden and i still gotta pay the same thing. good thing i'm not in a contract though i gotta call up AT&T in a day or so.

  • switch to roadrunner or time warner

  • I'd switch to verizon DSL not as fast of course but they don't bullshit you.

Hell I'm lucky enough I've got about 1.2mb/s or 768kb/s not exactly sure it tends to flop but they never pull bullshit they had us sign a life time contract they can't boot me, plus they have no limits as they've been around so long their internet connections are built Properly.

    : )

  • @kawaiifreak860 yea i agree with you... lol, except i'd rather go with AT&T since they have slightly faster service last i checked.. at a better price... with AT&T there plan for $45 a month was 6mbps... not bad... no contract either, and the modem is $50 with a $50 mail in rebate if you purchase the $45 plan... i've been b.s.ed so many times from comcast... with tons of hidden fees... that jump out of no were.

  • @randumbguy8239 Oh cool. = P

lul cept for me I'm on a budget so $15 a month for a 768kb/s connection.

I don't do too much "Uploading" or "Downloading" on the internet so it's perfect, plus they can never "Over charge" me with hidden fee's cause it's on the contract. : )

They over charge they get my foot up there ass like bee's on an intruder.

  • @kawaiifreak860 well i'd rather pay my $20 a month for the 20mbps or well i think it was 15mbps or something like that but a boost of 20mbps for x amount of seconds... and not have a contract... cuz i do alot of online gaming and 768kb/s is way to slow i'd kill the internet if mine were that slow... i download alot too...

  • @randumbguy8239 That's coolio, I prefer my 768kb/s internet simply because It's never let me down yet, I can do everything I usual do on the internet without a hassle also I do play some (Old) halo online with 8/16 players and it runs rather smooth not "Perfect" but smooth only time I've seen a "glitch" or any noticeable "Lag" is when some bitch H4X0R the game killing everyone while they are "Frozen" by him and claiming he is "WINRAR". e.e

  • this is same as iphone 4 not being in stock and they can tpreditct how many people will use it

  • i beleave that u were wronged and i pull well over 250gb per month got called and said u know what i might sue u right now or go to the better business bough never heard from them agian and i think that was in 08 and iv been a subscriber since 2005 when were i live it was know as adelphia or some thing like that i say sue

  • I like how you presented your issue. You mentioned that you would pay for an expanded service but the associate did not offer you a solution, simply a warning and no options. In this case many will assume, some will blame why you have a bandwidth issue. Who cares why you have the issue, you have one. If ur not doing anything illegal and just using a ton of data, video etc., I feel you have a claim. For every Data Hog, there is that gramma that only checks email so the average should work.

  • Comcast is still better then centurylink , had

Comast for a while and never had any problems , as with centurylink bad service .

  • This 250GB cap is comcast's way of forcing you to purchase cable television. If there was no bandwidth cap, a company like Vonage would be able to offer viable television over IP services, but that would mean less profits for Comcast.

Putting a cap in place ensures stagnation in the streaming video marketplace, which means Comcast can force you to purchase their cable television and use their on demand television instead of other marketplace alternatives.

  • You idiot, you even read your terms of service? It's a contract that you had to sign in order to recieve service from them or any other company.

  • @LupinDa3rd i never had to sign a contract with comcase :) if they want to lose a valued customer... then ok fine with me... :)

  • You have to download over 500,000 songs a month or download around 100,000 videos or view/send 1,000,000 pictures a MONTH! Also yes they can monitor your modem's send and recieve. I bet this douche is a porn addict or is running a server on his HOME account. Home account is HOME use! Not web servers not your busness, not your job. YOUR HOME USE!

  • I use Comcast and I do know of the 250 gig limit. There is NO WAY IN HELL anyone can get to 250 Gigs in ONE MONTH unless you are breaking the trems anyways. You are either running a server or BUSNESS on your HOME ACCOUNT and that right there breaks the contract YOU signed. I have been looking at my use and I run three computers that are always connected to EQ2 and one laptop that someone else in the house uses and I never go over 20 gigs a month.

  • Acceptable use policy is in place so that you aren't slowing down your neighbors connection, while downloading all of that porn and illegal movie content. You can't actually reach 250 gigs a month unless you are doing one or the other. Get real! Stop crying and go outside!

  • Would you expect an international call to be free unless you subscribed to it? No. Why? Because service costs money. Nothing is free in this world... except the LOLs I got from realizing that even after 4 years, you're still posting messages on user's accounts about how Comcast is evil. Your argument is invalid. People like you put shame the human race. I've known about bandwidth and it's limitations since I was 14 (currently 21), and why? Because I did my research like a good little human.

  • Typical moron blaming someone else for their own damn ignorance.

The only way you'll be reaching your 250 GB limit is to be downloading a massive amount of files (most likely illegally) or hosting websites/files off your PC. Just for the record, I know plenty of people who do both, and come no where near even 100 GB/monthly.

You're obviously a tech n00b. Anyone who has even the slightest technical background in computers/networking knows about bandwidth limits. Get a business account. Cueball

  • @tacothunder i gone past 250 gig cap with net flix xbox live steam i can esy hit 250 cap hell most my game on steam or like 15 gig each

  • Stop downloading a shitload of illegal movies and music off the net and you wont have a problem with the cap. You want legal justice, but your downloads violate copyright laws. Get a life already!!

  • @biggeorgie wow you do know thear thing like netflix right and itunes for movies

  • MY DAD IS THE MAIN SUPRIVIZER AT COMCAST AND STOP COMPLAINING AND IF YOU DONT TRUST THEM THEN GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY LIKE DIRECT TV OR CHARTER STOP FUCKIN COMPLAING

  • Thanks for sharing your input sorry that you got screwed but all good american's are and it's a shame god bless

  • Free cable tv with modified modem!

    I choose my own service!

    Unbootable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Fuck comcast!!

  • I work for comcast taking inbound calls for billing and cable. The minute they sent us the email about placing that limit I knew once again that a lot of customers would be pissed. All you customers out there, wait until you find out whats happening April 24th. Its gona piss you off even more. Comcast truly does suck. take it from a person who works on the inside

  • that a reason why i do not have comcast. I have Verizon DSL but there modems are messed up because they lose your default speed which mine is 864k/160k or sometimes or all the time you do not get the full speed of the connection which is me. I am going to upgrade to Verizon Fios in a bit. I had to get out of my way and fight the town where i live in to get the internet at my house and also besides already having 8 troubles on my dsl line. both verizon and comcast r not good

  • the limit is based on the amount of use in your area ...they can't give a limit for any specific area. It is a priviledge to use comcast not a right ... If someone doesn't want you to act a fool in their store, they have a right to ask you to leave. what is so hard to understand about it....comcast owes you nothing.

  • in order for you to use MORE than 250gb you have to be hosting a server! verizon and comcast do NOT allow servers . Unless you have a business account. Verizon in my area turned in college kids for file sharing music!

  • @HackerGuitarist privilege?? fuck that!! if im PAYING for something i better get what im paying for, if i WASNT PAYING SHIT and it was BEING GIVEN TO ME then they have a right to stop my ass at any given time...

  • wow you my friend are the biggest winner i have ever heard. i hope Verizon doesn't lay you off like a lot of there other employee,s

  • you know what you are doing when you have been booted way too much downloading the crap. Yes they do have the right to tell you to cut down since Internet is privitly run since all you hated the goverment runing so quit your damm bitching. so back to you lazy dos not want to work for a living life.

  • damn im already at 683 gigs this month. i rock!

  • you are joke dumass

  • Comcast SUCKS! Are you still with Comcast? I switched to Verizon Fiber Optics, and I love them. I host a server and the speed I get are 25 down and 25 up. It's great and cheaper than Comcast.

  • I got comcast today.....and 9 hours later think it was a HUGE mistake !

  • @tooz56 Don't worry, as long as you keep your bill up to date, it's fine.

I download like a motherfucker. Torrents of movies, games, programs, you name it. I have NEVER reached my limit.

  • @tooz56 why dont you cancel

  • Anyone know how this class action suit went?

  • heavy stump youre a fucking nazi if your going to complain about america over some internet then go fuck yourself i would rather live in my country with no electricity and be free to so as i please then live over there with their fast cheap internet

  • you sound like one of the dumb ass customers that i talk to day in and day out that just wanna bitch if you're downloading over 250gb per month then get a commercial account and shut your mouth if you wanna switch then go ahead and try downloading 250gb in one month with WOW youre bullheaded.... you dont care what they say its not good enough?? your the dick head that starts the call off screaming like a damn child and you get absolutely no help what a clown

  • I had a commercial account and they terminated my family saying we were using it too much. Oh and that was before the 250 gigs was stated. Thank you for playing

  • Comment removed

  • there some cable modens called premod cable moden.this cable modens you can set them up without calling for internet service.all you need to do is buy a sb5100 premod comcast ready . and change the dns setting on youre pc to 4.2.2.4 or 208.67.222.222 and you will bypass comcast regystration page without even calling them for service . free intenet no more bills unlimited bandwith .

  • @tromcu Is it good speed?

  • 250GB is a lot of Bandwidth for most home users. The Average home user uses less than 100GB of bandwidth a month. The only way you can go over 250GB every month is when you are using the service commercially; Uploading or streaming a lot of contents. upgrade to a commercial account and stop complaining. You are Abusing the service. If you ever had mobile Broadband, By now you would know that Comcast is actually doing you a favor by offering you 250gb of bandwidth a month.
