Yeah, it's just a show. The bike probably ran in a lower gear and tried to stay in the same section of road as the roller suit for the best drama. In a real race, the bike would have disappeared at the first corner and would be waiting at the bottom. But it wouldn't have been as exciting a show.
I think this suit would be more fun that street luge. If it were available in southern California it would be a big hit.
Staged, No way he could of beat a bike. and even if he could corner better which is just about impossible. that bike can 0-60 in under 3 seconds....but in this vid it looks like all he did was hold in the clutch and coast down hill and grab the brakes to make it look even more dramatic. And people who say a car would of done better you people are just plain ignorant. That bike should have been pullin the tire off the ground in 1st an 2nd which is all he could of used. So I call BS
Oh! That's how you won. I saw that right at the end. It wasn't a trick and the bike wasn't holding back as much as folks seem to want to think. The way you came out of that last corner gave you a straight shot across the line while the bike had to re-orient itself and lose speed. That's why you seem to move so much quicker. Brilliant!
Performance driving and the like is one of my big things, not so much for my co-host though. Glad to see such a quick response. You've become a total sensation after creating this thing, yeah? I'll be staying tuned so I'll see you around! ^_^ -Frynge-

Dumb fucking japaneses.the bike rider must have been extremly lean on the throttle, especialy on the straights. Anyway, kudos to the daring guy on the bodyroller or what it is called.
evilskin, who said it has to be legal in order to practice the sport ;-)
The buggyroller being solely powered by gravity, I wonder if he truly stand a chance against a motorbike. A bike can decelerate and accelerate pretty quickly. Not the buggyroller. And I kind of agree with the friction of tires too... For sure whenever the biker is pushing the limit, he leans a maximum possible...
thats so fake look at the end how both the racers slow down a little and when they go back to normal the guy on wheels goes twice the speed he was originally going
He outruns them by simple physics. His friction on the ground is much higher than a motorcycle, thanks to all the wheels. Corners are deadly fast for him. Moreover, he is more stable than him, arms and legs configuration allow him to be stable in straight line, optimizing the trajectory...
...and by simple physics the coefficient of friction between pavement and sticky rubber moto racing slicks is a shit ton higher than pavement and roller blade wheels... The guy was hardly even leaning the bike, so far from the limit of his bike it looked like grandma cruising to the store for some depends... :P
That body suit is still impressive though, drifting your entire body through a corner must be a blast.
ya but i doubt its gonna be any popular in US. its kinda funny how close minded this country is. it would prolly be banned for safety issues. imagine hitting a wall goin 100km...
That's a pretty amazing piece of equipment. To be fair the rider had to be careful to to run over the guy and a course that tight and narrow is probably better suited to a 250cc.
not to take any of Jean's thunder away but the bike was definatly slowing up. Jean is just using pure potential energy, which is SO AWESOME, while the bike is obviously powered.
I can't believe no one has mentioned yet that that suit is a lot like the robot that Optimus battles on the highway in the new Transformers movie... it was like a huge robot that rollerbladed on its hands.
Fuck it- any way you slice it dude has huge balls. It didn't look to me like the biker was really trying to peg it, but an impressive performance nonetheless BR. By the way, do you know what your top speed was? Saw 100KM quoted at the beginning, don't know if that meant 100 Kilometers per hour, but that is a damn sight faster than I would travel wearing that suit. You are quite impressive regardless.
not to take anything away from the buggy guy, but the bike was obviously slowing down several times. the buggy contraption will never ever accelerate as quickly as a decent sport bike. not even if he jumps off the top of a building. its just simple physics.
Dude on the bike needs to learn how to drag a knee LOL! No way the buggyroller could beat the bike except for the bike was concerned about running over the buggyman....
The bike was being a bit modest and also had to hold back & break when Yves skated right by his front tire a couple of times. If they took the course separate I really think the bike would take him. But I have to admit that's pretty damn fast for buggy rollin.
Ya right, these things might be fast compared to bikes, but against a car, ahahaha please. This is slow fantasy stuff. It is fun for the sensation, but it is slow going downhill.
also think that they should have done this buy time trials one after the other cause i agree with rockmonkey2003 and that the bike did slow down for the safty of the buggy guy but if they did time trials i rekon the bike would have won...
on a a course like what? you mean a 4 corner course lol ,put the bike vs a car on a course like, lets say the nurburgring...or maybe any mountain road in the swiss alps....anyhow,bikes are slow compared to cars on courses with variable corners, and a buggy is just something else...
Not exactly true... bikes have troubles braking and that is why in any attempt at avoiding a collision a cyclist will swerve rather than brake... also bikes don't turn well under braking because they straighten up... You obviously don't ride... Go buggy Rollin!!! Sell us a suit!!!

you right i tok the left line straighter with no visibility (for me on the floor) and a bit unstable and so i could get a constant acceleration .
