  • This game was definitely anti-Michael Jordan. They froze him out. I don't know what you guys are talking ABOUT. Isiah didnt pass to Jordan when he was wide open a few times and basically did not let him score. If I did that on my basketball team, the coach would bench me and make me do push ups. You guys need to watch the game again and also watch Jordan's hall of fame speech. I am not his biggest fan but this was definitely a freeze out if ever I saw one. I think Bill Laimbeer scored more pts.

  • MJ is the best eveeeerrrrr, here was only a rookie, what more you want ,nobody in rookie season average 30 points so many games of MJ had 4o or + points ,dont exists nobody more

  • @KennySherman boolshit comment, MJ was a rookie that year !!!

  • what a great all star game, not like this 2011 edition !!!!

  • MJ doesn't have to complain about the new players it shows in the polls, nobody is watching them they already lost in the olympics. Who has any videos of the finals since MJ. Lebron please 0-4 in finals Kobe 4-6 MJ 6-0 no comparison it's still about him he's the league now the standard of what the game is measured on. Played hurt, sick and tired and bust all their butts. To diss MJ is JUST PLAIN STUPID why because he's a winner and losers hate winners, winners respect winners what are you?

  • @shawn625 By your logic, Bill Russell is the greatest ever, he's won 2 NCAA championships and was 11-0 in NBA finals, MJs not even close if we are talking winners.

  • Listen I'm from NC MJ was a star before the NBA he won a championship and 2 ncaa player of the year awards. How many of them on the court in 85 allstar has done that none. Now the pistons were not avoided by just MJ and Pippen the league looked at how the whole piston team played ball to wild and rough for them they had barkely who didn't like them either it was the NBA decision to not use them MJ was the scape goat as to why. Trust me the olympics saw those games and didn't want them either.

  • Where's the freeze out???

I haven't seen any freeze out yet. And in case there was any, look at the stars on the team with Mike. There is only one ball and you have Dr. J, Larry, Moses and a rookie. And you expect Isiah to defer to the rookie? C'mon now. If Jordan shot 9/9 instead of 2/9 maybe he would have got the ball more.

  • yeah but Isiah walking off the court in 1991 was very unprofessional and showed great disrespect. This bothers me because I like Isiah I thinks hes intelligent and a gentlemen but his true colors come out with Jordan. It doesnt matter if you dont like him or not give the guy congratualtions after all your team beat his 3 years in a row. Seriously I remember after one hard fought playoff series against the bulls and pistons you could tell Jordan was crushed but he went over and shook Isiahs hand.

  • Absolutely,Zeke is my fav all time player a good coach in his Pacer days but he def has a inflated ego/selfish what about me attitude. It was always personal with him and MJ since the All Star game I was around then and clearly remember the tension. In 1990 Zeke blocked a pay per view 1on1 btween Mike and Magic bcuz he wasnt invited to play. I remember MJ shakin hands in 89-90 after the loss then the walk off this wasnt something that happened over nite man, Zeke was jealous of Mike bottom line.

  • Zeke is mistreated. He is not arrogant so much as he's pissed off that he doesn't get the respect that he deserves. A fan of Zeke knows that he has continually been disrespected & discounted unfairly. Do you ever get disrespected on your job? Now imagine the world got to see you being disrespected! Zeke's ego isn't inflated, he's one of the GREATEST & there has been much effort to gloss over, invalidate, or destroy him. Any real man will stand up for himself if he's not being respected.

  • Plus I disagree Mike was cryin and didnt know who he was in the company of,he played with Doc whom he idolized and the others he me and you watched for years like Sid Moncreif,Larry B Magic ,Moses,Alex English etc so he knew these were future and some first ballot hal of famers

  • He most definitely froze jordan out because i've been done like that before everything that Isiah is doing they done to me looking you off on curl plays whatever side your on look the other way and just totally cut your side of the floor off

  • From the game I see on this video, isiah and magic don't freeze Michael out. Michael isn't owed the ball. He was just a rookie to them. MJ was just used to always getting the ball on the Bulls, so he cried about it after this game, without realizing he was on a team full of stars. MJ didn't hardly get open. There is no blatant "freeze out" that I can see. I used to think maybe there was, but after looking @ this. That's absurd. Isiah was left off 1st Dream Team for nothing! That was real BS!

  • yeah i don't see the alleged freeze out. Jordan is on the bench alot and he's bieng passive in this game. In first quarter he touched the ball as much as Malone and Isiah passed him the ball a few times. They just didn't defer to Jordan. He was just a rookie. They were established stars.

  • Yes there was a freeze out, I agrre with 402 electric there were times when Zeke(my fav all time player) could've gotten the ball to MJ. It came out years later that Zeke wanted to freeze Mike out plus he was left off the Dream Team mostly bcuz the Pistons walked off the court in 1991 instead of givin the Bulls the glory or showing sportsmanship shakin hands Etc. For being a rookie that's not hard to believe and knowing how selfish and jealous Zeke is I believe it 100%

  • Jordan shot 2-9 in this game. That's enough to have scored 18-20 points. Not bad for your first All-star game. So he didn't get 20-25 shots, like he would have on the Bulls... that doesn't mean he was froze out. Why would the East look to the rookie MJ? People forget MJ originally blamed Magic for the freeze out too, but isn't Magic supposed to defend & keep him from getting the ball? That reveals MJ's slanted mindset... & even today, as good as MJ was, nobody wanted him as an exec.

  • I never heard of him blaming Magic although Magic could've played a part. He was Zekes best friend people wanted to see Mike obviously in the ALL Star game he's a rookie and the vets may have felt the need to humble the kid for all we know its def not far fetched. Zeke is selfish big headed and arrogant look what he did to A.D for his homey Mark Aguirre. I aint talkin bout f.g. percentages but the gesture. Im not a MJ fan he was a terrible Exec look at how he did Gar Heard. He's no angel

  • @acox11 2-9 to score 18 points, it need to be 100% FG%. Thats strict.

I think he was freeze out becoz every book or magazine say so. I don't think it's fake report becoz no one will fake something like that.

MJ had 9 FGA but he was a SG, not C or PF, he had chance to get the ball from referee.

Also MJ was only avg. 19 ppg before all-star game, I guess after this game he decided to become an offense weapon.

  • I hear you about the Pistons walking off the court in 91'. But still, to hold one man accountable and alienate a star like Zeke for that was unfair. In fact some Pistons did congratulate the Bulls... I bet they don't leave Lebron out of an All-Star game, or some Olympic team. My point is: that was just the rationalization, it wasn't the true reason. The league took sides w/ MJ period & that was wrong. It's hard for me relate to Zeke as "selfish", especially when comparing his game to MJ's.

  • Maybe bcuz you a lil younger than me (13yrs) MJ told the powers that be if Zeke plays he wont, (92 dream team). My man this was not some isolated rumored thing, again Zeke is my fav all time player from U of Indiana to the Pistons but he is a very arrogant dude man ask any old timer whos been around when I say he's arrogant or selfish I mean off the court. The league sided with MJ prob bcuz they knew how Zeke is. Why wouldnt he shake their hands? They were 2 time world champs no big deal.

  • I remember the circumstances quite well my friend. MJ & Pippen each said if any Piston (not just Isiah) plays, they don't want to be on the team. The league really did a number on the fans of Detroit with that one. Isiah should have been on that team, & if MJ'S EGO can't handle that, than he should have been alienated for the punk-cry baby he is & left at home. Switch out MJ and Pippen, for Isiah, & D. Wilkens, or K. Mchale/ J. Worthy, & Dream Team still would have beat the rest of the world.

  • Magic and Charles were the ones that really punished the opposition in 92 you're right they coulda won easily without Mike/Scotty MJ's name bought so much to the league back then in 98' 5 billion, and David Stern is no dummy so "Michael" got his way. Scotty shouldnt have been on the 50 greatest players list at the time. MJ is a selfish cat he never gives younger players their props he kinda still thinks/wishes it's all about him he wants the spotlight cats went at him when he came back.

  • i use to think that isiah froze michael out but for the first half that wasn't the case

  • i kinda disagree, isiah seems to keep the ball on the opposite side of the court to michael, the play where isiah missed the three from the top, he probably could have swung that ball to jordan. also there were a few plays where jordan was making just normal v cuts and isiah wasnt giving him the ball, looking to the other side and giving the ball to dr.j even though he was no more open. i think if you were on the court and that was happening to you, you would feel like it was a freeze out

  • right

  • @402electric Yea but Isiah was hot from 3 point range in this first half, and even when Jordan was on the bench he favored Larry's side because they were playing in Indiana where Larry is from. I think this whole freeze out thing is a load of rubbish.
