  • when i play wow i have just a tiny lag but its not noticeble in other words it playable

  • is that lag from ur recording or was it lagging.i read the description but i am wondering

  • My question is, I have an Aspire One D257 with 2GB of RAM. Do you think it'll run ok? I don't want to waste the time downloading the game if it won't run right.

  • @kkGodzilla 2 gb should run great

  • i play this with higher settings on aspire one 721 its got 4gb ram 1.8ghz and ati 4225 it really plays smooth

  • @MrTelecasterIV i play on an acer aspire x1300 on ultra settings with reasonably unnoticable lag,on medium high, its perfect, but ive been told thats impoosible, wonder why...

  • it's important to point out that fraps lags the dick out of world of Warcraft. so it actually goes faster.

  • i downloaded catacolyism on an aspire one d255 with 1 gb ram and it ran fine bullshit about WoW saying you need like 9 gb ram

  • MY gateway 2005 (PoS) runs WoW in dal faster than yours does in org.

  • Could this run maplestory or league of legends?

  • i play this game on a acer one net book and don't have none of those problems that you described and is showing. flawless game play and low lag. but then again i don't know what all you have downloaded on your pc but the less you have the less that the hdd has to read through to get to the files for WoW plus i run game booster, surprisingly it does make a difference on this machine. but on my other pc that i had built there's no difference using that program.

  • @saggyjowls poor you using a dell inspiron lol...

  • i play on this laptop, with one gb1 ram, and i dont lag like you. Simply because i know how to organize my computer, you could disable many Hardware and useless software. Modify your window to get a better framerate. As well disable vertical sync and triple buffering. be in the minimal resolution of the game, be in 16-bit color. Modify the gfx /w the wow console. you could be under the minimal view distance. all of these thing give me 25fps at orgrimmar (catalcysm)

  • @Chooboh

This was back in BC before it was optimized to run on lower system settings. Read the video description. It is a much more viable machine with their more recent optimizations. The upgraded ram should give you an indication that I know how to optimize the performance of a PC.

  • @Chooboh this video is over 2 years old now, and his specific model of the aspire one is not listed. You SURE that you've got the same machine as him? Is your aspire one also from 2008?

  • Comment removed

  • @katzmanndo yes that an old one, anyway fraps didnt help you after all..

  • @Chooboh How would a person go about modifying the minimum draw distance even lower than the games lowest default? please explain and I will bow down to you

  • @Chooboh can you tell me what am i able to disable hardware/software??

  • @PlayerTech turn your laptop and open the little backsquare , remove the thing and than ur RAM and replace it with an rdd2 pc2...with more Gb 's ! I did it and it worked fine ! With one more Gb ( acer aspire one 532h ... )

  • The fact that your are able to move amazes me. I will probably get this and try MapleStory on it.

  • Tis vid is bullshit my acer gets 20-30 fps everywhere lol

  • @JIPPIX94 its obviously not an acer aspire one and if it is then you got an upgraded one.

  • hey i have the same laptop as yours but how you upgrade the ram into 1.5 GB??

  • ur doin it wrong! Ferrari or m11x

  • please never use fraps to record on a machine that is barely running wow without it.

Wow runs ok-ish on any netbook with 1.6Ghz atoms , yes N270, N280 and now N450 as long as you know how to tweak the graphics properly. By decent I mean going outside doing quest with around 20 fps.

Make sure you set power management to office/desk so the CPU doesn't get underclocked when idle. Update drivers and learn how to set wow to run in 16bpp via the config.wtf

  • Don't they have an Atom processor in them?

  • can wow 3 on netbook?

  • Does the game lag or is it just because you are recording?

  • Im looking at an Acer 10.1 Would it be good for playing WoW?

  • @xxgrumpyxx1 It is alright. If that is what you are doing then go ahead. It runs faster than this because he has fraps running. And it runs faster if you turn down the settings and upgrade to 2 gigs of ram

  • Next time use Xfire. And i want a Aspire.Looks like a good gaming computer lol.can you make a Raid Test or A PVP Test 2v2 or something

  • is it choppy like that or is it just the video?

  • Have you set all video settings on low?

  • don't you mean Dalaran and not Darnassus? : P

  • Ive seen other Acer One WoW vids run faster even in towns. What are ur settings at?

  • alot of ppl use gamebooster and gmabooster at least thats what i do for counter strike, i get a 20fps increase!

  • Comment removed

  • u dont know how much i like seeing this

  • hehe thats how ive been playing for 3 years :$ well.. ive ordered my First Gamer PC now! getting it next week or somethig :D

  • 2 GB of RAM in these netbooks help a lot, no doubt about it.

  • 1 reason its kinda laggy is cuz hes using fraps to record this video, i have the same laptop except it has 160gb of hardrive and i can run wow with 30fps

  • a tip, cap your fps ingame and it will help alot /maxfps 15

  • that looks very laggy

  • no, i would recommend about 4GB of Ram

  • wtf, what are you talking about... 4GB is too much. I can't recall a program that would need that. Unless you are running like 5 instances of Crysis Warhead.... My 1GB of ram on my netbook is good enough to run WoW perfectly.

  • 4GB comes in handy from time to time. Single Instance of Crysis warhead can use upwards of 2 Gigs of ram.

So I don't see how having 5 open wouldn't push some one over 4 Gigs.

  • would a laptop with A 1GB RAM do pretty good for wow?

  • oh yeah, my dell mini 10v runs WoW perfectly even in cities. Just a little tip: if it starts to lag, look at the ground and zoom out. :) Hope this helps

  • sweet thanks

  • 1 GB is good, but nothing lower 2-3 is perfect you dont need 4gb's

( 4gb is good if you want to muit-task while playing wow )

  • you lag :S

  • I have had my Acer Aspire One for only a few months now and I love it! I wasn't sure if WoW would work on it but I figured I would give it a try and it runs great! (by the way I didn't upgrade mine)

  • I bought it like that it wasnt upgraded.I got one question can i put a different grapichs card in this laptop?

  • nope, sorry

  • well u can play wow with acer aspire one sure my specs are Intel atom procesor 1,6 but my is mutliprocesor 160gb hard disk and 2g ram and that lame grapichs card mobile intel 945 chipset fammily i tell u my fps is never below 10 and its usually about 15-25

  • world of warcraft would take up crazy space and due to the fact that the aspire one has only 120gb-160gb of space... it would be able to play but i think the gaming would be as laggy as hell

  • this is kind of weird though cause it runs perfectly on mine maybe his is just a piece'o'crap

  • My wow runs pretty great i got an acer aspire one too fps 15 in town idk why but these little laptops are quite idk the word( they can suprise

  • If a laptop had better specs than a desktop would it get better FPS? or no? All the laptops my mum has owned have had really low FPS on WoW <_<;

  • yes it would hence the "better spec's" but if the laptop specs dont meet recommended requirements for the game then it will lag, plus you need a high speed broardband internet connection to play without lagg.

  • Do you think 2.1ghz, 4gb DDR2 ram, Amd athlon x2, 320GB Hard drive, ATI Radeon 3200HD, Vista home premium 64-bit service pack 1. Will run WoW with decent FPS?

  • yes, it will run it fine, i can run this on my 3 year old laptop(inagrated gpu) amd turion 2ghz 1.5gb ram @ upper medium settings

  • You know damn well that would run wow...stop posting stupid ass questions..

  • that will run epicly well im happy to say, I can run it fine on a 5 year old Dell LAtitude with 512 MB of ram, so id say you're in good shape my friend

  • i don't play world of warcraft i only play star craft and diablo but maybe war craft 3.

  • LOOOL i dont buy a Acer Aspire 5310 than :P

  • The NVIDIA ION platform should boost this crap through the roof, especially with the dual core Atom N330s and 4GB of RAM.

  • Im currently running it on the same spec Acer As he is and it is definetly playable. Not tried raiding however PvP is Very laggy however every other aspect of the game is fine. There is however a notciable slow down in major cities.

  • maybe he lost frames recording it.

  • wow those aspires must really suck. My p3 laptop gets the same framerates with 640 ram. However i have a small drive.

  • Anything with dedicated video memory will run better. These laptops share video and system memory.

  • have you tried over clocking the little fucker I heard they ship em out under clocked, there's a dude here on you tube that has some vids about it, I don't think it harmful either, he was playing obliveon on his asus.

  • @Deppizzymo + it probably runs better when hes not recording a video :P

  • @Deppizzymo I highly recommend you download GMA booster. It will boost the integrated graphics from 160mhz to 400mhz! - a slight increase in framerate :D ! . It's free for 5 days, there's also powerstrip but I don't know how to configure the clock on that.

  • @LordOrwell2 THey are netbooks with 1 gig of ram. look them up. If you turn down the settings to the minimum it will run perfectly.

  • theres only one prob there dude u chose horde lol

  • is the acer aspire as5515 good for playing wow

    memory size 3gb

    capacity=160gb

    please send back quickly

  • what is the processor and graphic card?

  • what about bg?

  • on my old desktop 512mb ram geforce 7300gs 256mb and 2.8ghz pentium D, i could play bg's , obviously this is more powerful than a aspire , so i reckon warsong gulch, artahi basin are playable at around 15-25fps, but av would be quite laggy , any other bgs would be unplayble i reckon.

  • hey guys how about the ASUS PRO 61 SL

    it has a core2 duo T6400 2x2ghz and 4 gb ram and a ATI HD 4570 with 512 MB

you think its enough too for playing Wotlk?

  • yes... lol

  • Yes, it can handle it fine. Max or near max shouldnt be too bad for you.

  • yes its perfect

  • will i have 2 enter any bank details 2 dwnload it? and also do i need any particular programs already installed b4 i can play it?

  • Yes its a subscription game , its cost money per month to play it... , you dotn need to download any additonal programs bu if your downloading the whole game itself then that is a very large file .

  • how do u actually play the game wivout a diskdrive? dnt wna sound noobish but i relli wna kno, do i plug a diskdrive in or can i play it online or sumfin pls reply asap =]

  • You can download the entire game from blizzard's website, or you can put the game on an external hard drive then transfer it over to the PC

  • this is weird.

this is the only video ive seen with the Acer Aspire One

    with WoW lagging.

i watched couple of videos and they were in Stormwind and Shat city with prefect fps....

  • but thats the way wow runs on aspire..

  • It dont matter, i decided to get a desktop

    so im good :)

  • it looks like a good graphic here. Maybe he should put the grahpic down....

  • mine was 512MB :(

so iwas planning to upgrade my laptop to a gig to see if it works well

  • my pc is a Pentium 4 with 256Mb of ram, i cant play in 2-5 fps!

  • yeah... the ram is the key. 512 is minimum if you want to play at all, but without 1 GB you're going to lag.

  • lol its not only ram, i have a comp with 4 gig of rams,

its just the combination and ram aint the most important one, the processor and MOST IMPORTANT the video memory is the best.. so ram is just one thing

  • What settings are you at there? at the normal Aspire one with 1GB.. Can you play at worst settings lag free?

  • Not sure, never played it on the 1GB, but if you read more info over there you'll find out how mine runs on lowest of low. This video isn't the best indication anymore since the expansion came out.

  • do the animals pillywog the molly snoggers? also how do u snoot a hordle? i heard those things can be pretty cheesywogglez, Especially with an Acer Aspire One.

p.s. I'm so hungry I could eat an octorock!

  • Well firstly, to get the snogging and the pillywogs @ 30fps you need to snoof the bighog rot billy and scoop up the cam part II in the big top circus tent. THEN and ONLY THEN press the big red button and say hoofer foofer Geoff's socks are yella.

  • Thank you! For some reason, I could never find a way to do it & I couldn't find a strat to save my life!

  • np np

  • So it could work also on my acer aspire one d150 ?

  • what are your fraps settings? It seems quite amazing for a small thing like that to handle WoW at those speeds and fraps at the same time

  • Default, I'm using the demo version.

  • What class are you? I can see that you are an Tauren, but also an hunter. Your mount and weapons look like DK.

  • Yep, Tauren Hunter. Rafelos is the name, you can armory me if you're bored. Mount is the Halloween mount from the event.

  • my remote desktop on my HTC touch dual gets similar fps to this

  • So after the lich king update its the game better optimized?

Because I was playing the streaming trail version on my AAO and Iam just wondering if when i get another game card and download WotLK how much better it will run?

  • I'm not really sure if it was WOTLK that made the game run better, but the fact that there are less people in Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, and Outland make those zones much much more bearable. There were very few times the laptop dropped below 20, and it was usually running 30 fps steady in those 3 continents. Northrend runs very much like you see in my video.

  • That was fast :)

    Thanks .

  • My Wind runs fine. No lag. Perfect FPS. Everything. I will make a video of it later.

  • Again I say... Read my more info

  • what tweaks or setting you used coz i have the wind and used gmabooster, oced to 2ghz win xp in performance mode and it still laggs

  • That is really laggy. Im sorry but this laptop doesnt look like it is good for gaming. I will stick with the MSI Wind

  • They have virtually the same internal makeup. Nearly all PCs without a dedicated graphics card are gonna run like this... Also, read my more info.

  • why record with fraps, its just pointless this video doesnt tell us anything.

  • Fraps does very little to affect the overall FPS. Being the one who owns the laptop I can tell you that fraps causes a decrease in about 2-3 FPS on average. Just letting you know.

  • I know, but im just saying that when you are attempting to show how a netbook performs for a game like WoW, since we all know a netbook CAN run WoW, the whole point is to show exactly HOW the game performs. using fraps in a scenerio like this illeviates the whole point (when every frame matters) and i would say you lose about 10+ FPS with fraps, not 2-4.

  • You realize I own the laptop right? When I tell you I'm losing 2-4 it's because I can shut off fraps, run the game, look at my frames. Then shut down WoW, turn on fraps, and run the game and look at my frames. Then I subtract the two... and guess what? I get 2-4 depending on location. The point of the video is this, people want to know if the game is going to be playable. If they see that it is playable based on the video they can be convinced that it will play even better without fraps.

  • Just for everyone's reference, because I see lots of questions about the in game settings. Just to be clear, the game is running on the lowest of the lows in all situations. BUT just to clear up any doubts you might have about the laptop, since WotLK has been released, all areas outside of Northrend run very very well averaging 20-30 FPS in almost all situations. Northrend on the other hand runs absolutely horrible (especially Darnasus) about 5-15 fps avg. I'll post this info in the video info.

  • If I'm running with 3G of RAM, and 250G of hardrive, with a processing speed of 1.6GHz, would WoW run smoothly? Or Spore??

  • Depends on your Graphics card.

  • I have the ATI RADEON XPRESS 1200 graphics card.

  • yea, you should be able to run wow well, spore will take a bit more, but u should be able to do it.

  • Well I plan on getting a new laptop soon, that one is farely old, and i need something new thats not too expensive. I found on that has 2G RAM, and 160G Harddrive. It runs a Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M. But I just need a new laptop, prefferably under $450 haha. I've found some good ones but idk...

  • even though the distance u can see things has been reduced, but i dont think all the graphics have been turned down

  • Lowest of the lows, but read more info on video for updated info on this video.

  • thanks for making this video, i have been looking into a netbook to get before i take a big trip 2010. i was looking for one that could play my games and give me reliable connection, so thank you for setting my sites on the acer aspire 1

  • question : was this on low or high ??

i mean in the wow game video set up ?

  • Lowest of the lows, but read more info on video for updated info on this video.

  • Lowest of the lows, but read more info on video for updated info on this video.

  • how much fps would it run without using Fraps?

  • difficult to say cause fps alters with area, on mine 1gb ram, 160gb hdd XP installed i get 15 - 21 fps in non built up areas and in some circumstances (went to org) i got as low as 8fps - 13fps, so i'd say just stay out of well built up areas, i've got screenshots if you want them.

  • nice. i have an aspire 6920 with 3 gb ram, 2.0 GHz, and a 358mb graphics card. It runs very good considering my shitty connection im gettin from my neighbors.

  • hey would this comp run maple story well?

  • y would u want to run maplestory it sucks. lol

  • just got wow to work on my acer aspire one, its so lagy.. i'd only recomend if you're outside with mobile broadband, and you're curious to see how your auctions are going, but srsly, its like almost impossible to play for real like that.

  • Thnx man ;D.

  • yea i am getin one to i wnt to knw would it run good with normal settings or would i have to turn them down

  • Lowest of the lows, but read more info on video for updated info on this video.

  • Hi,guys/girls i have a rly big problem with my acer aspire 5735Z. WoW opens fine it runs fine for about 1min and then it stops, it's not the connection,it's not wow, it's not a random program on the background. . .what the hec is it? plz someone help (i googled it and spoke to 1000randoms about it . . .no solution) reply on this message plz

  • Potentially, heat...

  • please can somebody help me, i need to know how to get the full version of WoW on my advent 4211 laptop, but it doesnt have a disk drive to download WoW from the disks, so if you can help please reply to this message.

  • You can download WoW via their website

  • I spent 80 pounds on a graphics card... Was ok at first... now i am lucky to get 20 fps in cities and Northrend.... Any help?

  • well its just server lag, i usually get around 120 fps and it dips to 60 in dalarn

  • hey i just got mine last night and i found out that it docent have a cd or dvd drive what can i do to upload WoW into it

p.s. i don't want to download it from the internet

  • get an external cd drive and plug it into the usb slots

  • or you could just go onto the wow site and download the game from your account.

  • i have an acer aspire one too, not upgraded to 1.5 gig, but i did set all my setting to low on wow, it works way better than

  • so is there much lag at all? cuz i really wanna start up wow and im gettin the aspire for xmas =P

  • no not so much lag, but i don't recommend raiding or that kind of stuff, but it is playable

  • Does it effect anything on the laptop, outside of the game, say internet or word?

  • nah, the laptop itself is one of the most impressive pieces of technology I've ever seen. It runs anything from Warcraft III and down flawlessly, and also handles day to day processes amazingly well. For a single core processor I couldn't have been happier.

  • So, what you are saying is if I have WoW downloaded, Word and Firefox would run as normal, and another question, did you use an external drive, or a usb stick? And if a usb stick please list steps?

  • Yeah having WoW on the PC wont affect anything... unless of course you're running WoW and trying to word process/internet etc.

But yeah, I used an external hard drive, but using a USB stick works exactly the same. Try googling it, it's a pretty easy thing to do.

  • I googled it and nothing came up, what do you recommend I search?

  • does it lagg??? send message to 76518 not boygolfer1

  • does it lagg???

  • Hellllllllllllllllllllll yeah. Funny thing is, it runs 30-40 FPS in all of Azeroth (except northrend) and outland now that everyone is in Northrend, but the second you step foot on that continent say goodbye to fun. I dare you to walk from one side of Dalaran to another on this laptop.

  • try putting in an nvidea graphics card and 2 gig ram upgrade

    (2g ram is 27 bucks)

(nvidea g cards go for about 140)

  • laptop only has 1 RAM slot and onlt accepts 1g sticks or under...also the graphics are high quality onboard and has no capability for graphics upgrades

PS. Lag in videa was from screen recorder not actual game play

  • And , how do you put it on. Please list steps?

  • lol the camer you are using is faster than the cpu XD

  • How many FPS in Dalaran?

  • my guess is around 5, I haven't played much on it since I'm selling it now.

  • i got mine acer to run wow at 32fps

  • After wotlk came out, mine runs about 30 fps. Before the expansion it was far worse. Also with fraps disabled I was pulling about 5 or more fps on average.

  • how much hard drive space does it take up please looks good

  • 14 GB

  • thanks for putting the fps on this vid all the others are just no sound fraps

i replied with my eeepc 900 16gb sdhc 1gbRAM vid

    with WoW installed

checkit out after the break /dance
