  • O'Reilly vs Gillies all those were good fights

  • A lot of flailing in this fight. Not a lot of hitting.

  • cc rider ? Tims nose looks just as big as it did when he beat me up on Acadia 's outdoor rink in 1972. He didn't like the fact I was From Maple Ridge skating on their ice. We dont tease you for not knowing the difference between two and too do we?

  • O'Reilly at this stage of his career is writing cheques his body can't cash and he is getting back what he dealt. Hunter the clear winner who at this stage was ranked in the top three, kind of like a hockey version of a UFC hockey grappler.

  • Either Hunter caught one two many on the nose, or his schnoz was like a landing beacon.

  • Draw! Hunter was only good when he tied up a fighters dominant arm. If his grip was off he was done. He never went punch for punch in his career cuz he would get his ass handed to him!

  • Tim Hunter - nastiest looking nose in the NHL!! ;-)

  • @tricesimo That was Tim Hunter? I thought it was Gonzo from the muppets! LMAO

  • Clear win for Hunter. Your gay love for O'reilly is blinding your judgement. When Hunter was in his prime he was in the top three.

  • @ycanada Hunter was never top 3 in the NHL at any point in his career. McSorley routinely kicked his ass, as did Dave Brown and Joey Kocur.

Hunter was top 10 in his prime, and had great stamina, but he was never even top 5, let alone top 3.

    Hunter's prime was 84-86 roughly.

The best fighters then, who all beat Hunter, were Probert, Brown, Kordic, Kocur, Miller, & Nilan. Even Jay Wells destroyed Hunter when Tim was in his prime.

  • 0:37 Mean left hook by O'Reilly.

  • You think you can dance? Watch that video!

  • HOCKEY PLAYERS=Great sportsmanship

    That's what I learned today!

  • i love watching o'reilly throw. once he gets going, its all arms, legs, head, everything going in ten different directions. great old time clip!

  • SOLID DRAW in spirited tussle.

JHunter gets loose well his hand middle/late but doesnt land much as O'Reilly avoided well his attempts.

  • @cecilhorn1 Decision: O'Reilly. Hunter made a go of it.

  • Hunter was hanging on to O'Reilley like he was his woman. It's a draw,

  • @stridelighter LOL wut?

  • #24. What a lunatic. Up in the rafters though. HOF

    Go Bruins

  • they were both great fighters in their day, this was just after their day that's all.

  • You're totally right.

  • It isn't just Bettman who has ruined hockey. There is completely new breed of players. A bunch of face shield wearing figure skaters. Guys with the tough attitude of guys like O'Reilly or Tim Hunter are extinct.

  • Probert and Domi are doing a figure skating show this fall on CBC. Are you saying they aren't tough guys? I wish everyone would shut up about face shields. My nephew and friend both have a glass eye from taking a puck in the eye from minor hockey. Not wearing one is just stupid.

  • yes, but they have been retired for a long time. the players should be allowed to take off their helmets and shields before each fight or forget it. some chicken swede with a face mask fighting a bare headed real man, oh puhleeez

  • @rhinohippo Here here!!!

  • @perryfan10 The badminton club is right beside the hockey rink. The gear is cheaper and you don't have to wake up for 6am practices. Please go there...and STAY there. Or, if badminton is too dangerous for you... you can always try soccer. Heh.

  • I agree.Loved the Bruins of the 70s.Orr,Cash,Espo,Park,Taz,Wensink,Jonathan,Secord,Milbury,Sanderson,Awrey.Thats when hockey was hockey not fucking didney on ice like u see now.

  • I give Hunter the edge in this.He can fight with the best of them.Taking on Dave Brown on a couple of occasions is like taking on the world and O`Reilly was at the end of his career. He would still go with anybody at any time.

  • that is true...that is all boston 4877 does (after he washes his hands I guess)...

  • I watched the fight 4 times. Hunter landed exactly one.....is that a lot? Maybe it's the Canadian exchange rate from 1984? Seems to me neither landed a good shot and neither one had great balance in this particular fight. Looked to me like Hunter's face broke his fall when he got slammed to the ice. I certainly wouldn't give either fighter a victory here though. Just a draw from 2 very good fighters.

  • bruins rock terryd beat anyone

  • 6 fights in this game from October 1984. 4 fights in the last 15 minutes of an 8-2 Calgary blowout. The ways things used to be before Gary Bettman arrived.

  • totally, Garey Bettman stripped NHL of its tough , exciting , and entertaining aspect. He has pussified the sport with the retarded Instigator rule and heavy suspensions...

  • Totally agree - Being a chicago fan all my life, we always had intense rivalries and that of course included lots of fights and rough stuff - and you looked forward to the games and you circled detroit, minn & Stl on your calendar - now, couldn't tell you 6 blackhawks (okay maybe 6 but not much more)

  • Sad but true, I'm a Bruins fan and started going to the games as a kid back in 82-83 in the REAL BOSTON GARDEN, now i cant stand to go to the td bank north "garden" to watch the games cause all the shity music and other stupid distractions going on. And one more thing the league has also been over expanded, why the hell are there teams in ATL and FLA and not Quebec and Winnepeg?? WTF is going on??!!

  • Its all about money and greed,, I wish they would bring back the original 21 teams,, that was more fun to watch,,, expansion didnt work well ,,cut down on fights,, instigator rules,,etc
