for everyone saying "just use trapcall", it's something like this that allows trapcall to operate and if it's too difficult or complex for you, don't do it. this is a privilege for those willing to do it, not a right that you're entitled to even if you don't want to put in any effort.
i'd love to see trapcall get a competitor or two. i'm fine with them making money off donations or optional pay-for services, but they got greedy and forgot what "freedom of information" is all about. their bad.
yo i tried to use Trapcall to unmask blocked numbers but they are telling me that my number is invalid and it muse be located in the USA only. what type of shit is that man?? i live in the caribbean so because of that i am not good enough to get the service.
In case no one else has pointed this out it appears to be fake, if you notice when the call is being tested at the end the call is connected on the transmitting handset for a number of seconds but the recieving one isn't ringing....just putting it out there.

I was talking about the fact that the call counter was already running, indicating that the call had already been answered but in actual fact it hadn't been yet....which to me would indicate that the incoming call was coming from another phone.
hey taht was pretty cool ive been having some one caling me blocked and its a girl moning wanting phone sex lol and i want to know if there is a site that will give me details in text so i can unblock it to find out who she is because i dont have any idea what you did since its so blurred and the voice cuts in and out thanks if you can help me out some one
My SIP provider forwards caller ID number info (not name) from private callers (tested with cell phones)and is visible from the CLI. Came across this will playing with privacy managers..thanks mitshit
No, the point is it prevents people who dial *67 from being able to block their number from showing up. What he did was take the caller ID info and prefix it with "900" before the privacy bit so the phone (or other caller ID device) won't see the privacy bit set and it will display the number with the 900 before it. Using a 3 digit number like 900 makes it really easy to spot when a caller purposely tries to block you from getting their number with *67. All other calls ID come through as normal.
Why go to the trouble, when a caller is blocking his or her number, screw them!! Keep it simple and don't answer the call. Life is too short to play that game.
if you're going to make an instructional video, don't just say "make some modifications to this here data" and then not explain what sort of modifications or how to make them. I don't know how anyone would learn anything useful from this video. Without more detail in it this is just a massive waste of space. so umm fuck you for wasting 10 minutes of my life trying to figure out what you were talking about.
@crabsbarc Actually if you read the description you will see that he has a link posted to a text based walkthrough. Second of all as it states in the description, this is Kevin Mitnick's video, not his. And third it's not his fault that you are not experienced (or smart) enough to understand what he is talking about.
One can always spoof their originating callerID and ANI though. So there's no way to know that the information you've 'uncovered' is legit. The funny part is they use Asterisk here to uncover the info, but the spoofing of that data can also be done through *.
I will say it's rather amusing to read "phant0ms1gnal", which sounds like some kind of ominous, cool-as-Neo character, and when you hear the voiceover it sounds like my 12-year old nephew.
While certainly clever, there is only one problem with this.
You need them to your SIP number. This means that to have this service, you cannot tell people your 'real number', but your SIP Trunk number. While this might be alright, it is kind of annoying, due to the fact that you can just set it up temporarily to grab someone's identity and shut it off.
What about porting your cell number to the SIP provider? Then get another number for your cell and forward your old number back to your cell - this company (flowroute) charges, like, a dollar a month per number - certainly worth it for this service - and all calls would now be unmasked...
Could work. Only I live in Canada, so phone numbers out of the regular telecoms are unheard of except by big companies like Vonage. I doubt that they'd do Canadian numbers when they arn't set up to deal with it. I could be wrong.

Some phones say that the call is "connected" from the time the phone starts ringing, meaning that you're connected to the number.

You don't have a PBX or an SIP Trunk, it's quite simple if you know how to configure asterisk.
