This "China ultimatum" sounded more like an urban legend. There is no question China would help Pakistan in its defense because Pakistan is a sword China uses against India, but China is not so diplomatically a retard to issue an ultimatum to the U.S. unless something directly threatens China, like the Korean War. The average age of Chinese army is 50 plus. Should be a good fight. The is a gap from 20 to 50 years. Because you can only have one kid. Good way to build a army. You talk the talk but you can't walk the walk. This is how we think in northern california. Gang wars are a daily thing over here. Give us a common enemy and your gone.
