Which NAVAIDS are you referring to? I never saw that many issues with the INS units when I used them. The old 4 channel GPS receiver was pretty obsolete though.
The CNS/ATM stuff looks way more intuitive than the legacy system. The old MFDs with the yellow screens could barely show any nav information, and being in the back end with all the tactical displays, we NFOs usually had to keep the pilots aware of complex airspace boundaries.
