  • I am not from DC but I love Go-Go! I think I have been infected with the Go-go bug and I don't want to be cured! I am in Africa living in Africa and we go-go hard at our shows!

  • That Go-Go is a style of its own. But we do get down on it in Philly also. The old Heads know about it. These youngsters need a lesson or two

  • @dawnmari,

It is true that DC is where go-go started. But is is total bullshit to say that u have to be from DC to understand or get it. If you are a person of color from anywhere, the back beat and drums speak to you from whereever you are. Learn about your culture before you talk dumb.

  • What exactly mean, by a person of color? Just Curious... I'm half asian and white. Does that count? White people are not colorless; I don't think... ooops

  • "Talk dumb" eh? The color of your skin has nothing to do with your musical perception. Nor are all "people of color" from the same culture. We are all shaped by the culture we are born into. We are all the same....

  • A fact is that people from the Carib, Latin America, Africa will pick up on beat driven music quicker than most. Just pointing that out . Every one can enjoy it but it's in your dna if you are a person of color. Just stating the facts. If you are a person of color and still don't feel it, then maybe you should go to the doctor to see what is wrong.

  • @mackmusic78

Im white and I picked up on it very quickly.... So what exactly are you saying only people of color from Latin America or Arfica can pick up and feel a beat faster than a white person from say England or America?.... Your preaching hate .... Sorry FAIL

  • @80sKatt ,

No one is preaching hate. Music is global for all to enjoy but some styles are unique to different areas of the world. Stop trying to make something of nothing.

  • Live and die for Go-Go! You gotta be from DC to get it. Got it?

  • No way, I'm from B-more and I got Go-Go, bad! On a scale of 1-10, 10 highest intensity, ya'll DC heads got it at 11, I got it at 9, real talk. No disrespect. I been on Go-Go since 1981. LOL
