@monjanse No it's just particle effects that have a very long life so they never disappear. Than a texture that looks like snow. I'll make a tutorial sometime.
this is great. just one question. does the snow build up, or does the surface just turn white? thinking of using something like this in a few final projects and i want to get my facts strait. mide as well just try it though right?
Yes, the snow builds up. I have a deflecter that catches all the particle effects, then you extend the life off the particle effects for as long as you want. the life of my particle effects was set for like 1000. so a 30 second clip need at least that much, but it starts adding up and making your computer choke so as long as you have a nice computer you'll be fine.
Well, all the deflecter does is stop the particals, the life is what controlls how long the particles are visible. So, if you have the life set for 1000 they with stay on the deflecter for like 30 seconds.
