I was fortunate enough to advise this very unit from 2008-2009. Even then, they were much more capable as a flying force than what this story indicates. Our Iraqi partners were doing more than flying basic transport; we had them in an intense night vision goggle training program as well as working extensively with Iraqi SOF. I was very impressed with many of them and their abilities.
And nowhere we can find actual war scenarios of american and iraqi airforce ! you know why because of the garbage usa tech who can lockdown there own tech true satellite with a few commands
The only aircraft they had that was effective was the MiG-25 or the MiG-29, all they're other aircraft couldn't do shit... c'mon, MiG-21's and Su-22's as your frontline fighters/attack aircraft? lol.

Well, if history has taught us anything, Iraqi Fighter pilots are ok...but their Helo Pilots are awesome. They (W / Iran) are the only helo pilots in the world with Confirmed Helo to Helo kills. Their MI-24's shot down 10 AH-1's & close to 40 varied types of other Iranian Choppers for a loss of only 6 of their own. They even have a uncomfirmed kill against a F-4. They seem to be rebuilding their AF slower then the Afganis though which is odd as the Iraqis have more funds (oil) to do so.
Well i wish the best for Iraq. Seems like theyre pilots and thier army is becoming more capable and professional. And they will get fighter aircraft soon. Like the 8-11 Mig-21's in Serbia aswell as the Mig-23's also in Serbia. Plus the F-16's the USA will give em. And i heard France is gonna refurbish and deliver Mirage F-1C's. So theres no doubt in my mind they will be a very capable fighting force with new equipment and a better trained army and airforce

Greece retired the F-1 fleet since 2003.The fleet used to fly without radar about 10 years prior to the retirement because the radar units were almost useless.This made the Greek pilots good at target revealing by eye but that's not the case now.
If the aircrafts given to Iraq are in better shape and even better modernized then they might be useful if not then there will remain in action for a short period only.
But it will be a great mix of aircrafts...US Russian and French..WoW!!!!

Plus i heard there might be some hidden Mig-29A's in Russia (unconfirmed), But even under Saddam they had a Motley Mixture of Aircraft. Seems like History is repeating itself yet again if they get an Airforce. But then again the F-1 in Greece suffered probably because of budget cuts

Made 105 and 155mm Howitzers and a Motley Mixture of Soviet Era Equipment and even the Current Army or Airforce still had remnants of Saddams Military in it. But i guess time will tell what their new army and airforce will aquire or get back. Would u agree?
