@WisdomHouseCT I wondered the same thing, lol. It might be that there's no clock or she can't see the clock where it's situated in the venue, so putting it on her hand gives her a more direct means of keeping the talk to her schedule, and in a less distracting way than having to check her wrist.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart! The book "The artists way" is still soothing and encouraging after more than eight years. I started on the creative path thanks to you, and And through it, my life has a meaning" (exuses for bad english, I am not from USA) Love and courage to everyone! Paula
I'm so happy to hear that it is working for you. I have so many of her books and I find her so interesting but I am such a terrible procrastinator and don't stick to things and I've been praying for help with that...lol...seriously. So I am REALLY going to get out my ARTIST'S WAY and forge ahead. The best to you always : )
I appreciate all that Julia offers! I savour doing morning pages and her writing activities. For me, it's all very fun, and isn't that the purpose of life--TO ENJOY IT! Joy is a high vibration! Thank you to Sandra Drake at Bodytreeworks in Mountain Home, Arkansas for so generously giving me the book The Artist's Way! And thank you to the lady posting these segments! It's fun to see Julia on the screen!
Julia Cameron is, for me, a Patron Saint of Creativity. I used "The Artist's Way" during Christmas of 1996--and have done near-daily Morning Pages since! She always unblocks me everytime I do that book. I own or have owned most of "The Artist's Way" series. Morning Pages, Artist's Dates, Daily Walks, and the Occasional Media Fast are the meat-and-potatoes. But do try many or all of the written exercises. Even the ones that seem silly! These unblock you in finer detail. I love Julia!
Julia: Thank you so much! A friend of a friend gave me the artist´s way. My life has changed so much since then. Every morning i write my morning pages and they work miracles. Thanks to your amazing book I now live my life in a much creative way, just living the moment and leting myself be.
Julia is like a second mother to me. When I was 18 I got "The Artist's Way" audio cassette version and it changed my life. Take waht you need from it and don't worry about the rest. If anything, just remember to trust your own ideas and believe in a responsive universe.
I agree with you that it's most important to trust your own ideas. At times when I tell someone my ideas they don't "get it" or are critical & then when they see my work, they're surprised & hugely supportive. I think wet blankets are trying to be helpful, but because they are harsh & critical with themselves they are harsh & critical to others. It seems like the more developed an artist, the less one needs to critique others, because of our own inner confidence in our internal processes.
I don't know why she wore her watch like that. Probably just preference. But, thanks for noticing!

Talking about wet blankets. A huge one for me as a musician are those indie music gurus. They say they are helping but they don't help me.

Free yourselves from Morning Pages. Free yourselves from the need to be an artist, and you will be one. No system of meditation is true meditation.
