i believe that pot will kill your brain cells if your mind is basically blank while your high, however it will actually make you think more, (not proven just what i feel i experience), and a lot better when you think while you are high, therefore making you actually smarter. so not only does it increase your mood but if you act stupid it makes you stupid if you try to be smart you will start being smarter.

Everytime I smoke some weed by myself, I write a song or 2. About 2 days ago I smoked and wrote a complete song in about 10 minutes. I just can't do that without being high. Weed is like vitamins for the brain. I wish everyone could just shut up and smoke some weed. Everybody together. One of my best experiences in life was smoking with all of my siblings! I wish I could smoke with my parents too LOL.

Ever hear of a vaporizer? It removes most of the tar and carcinogens, and you dont inhale any plant matter like you would when you smoke. It just vaporizes the thc and other cannaboids/oils but leaves the plant matter alone.
Not to mention edibles, which removes the tar factor completely. Some straight-edgers have no fucking logic.

@Smok3DatShit How bout a vaporizer. It only heats the bud up to about 300-400 degrees. Lighting a joint is like over 1500 or so. Vaporizing is far better for you, and more of the helpful cannabinoids get into the system and not destroyed like joints or blunts.

There has been no cases of death caused by cannabis use and all it does is give you a positive effect when burned and inhaled. I don't know about other people, but it actually makes me concentrate better on the things I'm trying to do. I smoke it regularly and it hasn't effected my grades or physical preformance. Yeah, I do my research.

And I'm not trying to be dishonest, they gave rats the synthetic chemical, which was, I believe, 100 times as powerful as THC, which means a small amount of natural THC found in pot may not be enough to show results. @ninjajesus81 And when WebMD said there was a "very small" impairment of learning and memory, it may not be because of the Marijuana, it may be because people who smoke Marijuana are generally dumber to begin with. Not saying that is the case, but it just may be. I tend to question everything and always try to think outside of the box.
if molecules constantly get absorbed into the bloodstream and cross the brain barrier, then the brain is built for chemical activity, so why would marijuana cause problems with this system? THC is not a toxic chemicals that when rubbed on your skin will damage you, so what makes you think that it would damage tissues inside the body, especially since when absorbed the amount of THC will be spread throughout you, compared to a concentrated amount you could rub on your skin.

The New Scientist article explains how a scientist gave rats a synthetic chemical to THC and it stimulates brain cell growth in rats. Well, that's nice and all, but 1) it's not marijuana and 2) it's not humans. And then later in the same article it talks about how a different scientist gave rats THC instead of the synthetic form, and it DIDN'T stimulate brain cell growth.
I have always been for the legalization of marijuana. It would make our jails less full from people going there over some harmless marijuana. To all the naysayers, do your research. I would guess the smoking pot does kill some brain cell, but by THC, but like how it kill the monkey's brains in the horrible old study, you often deprive you self from enough O2 when taking a good hit. Pot to be replace with any smoke and get the same effect though. It should be noted that pot is, in fact, addictive, both psychological and physical. Everytime I smoke some weed by myself, I write a song or 2. About 2 days ago I smoked and wrote a complete song in about 10 minutes. I just can't do that without being high. Ever hear of a vaporizer? It removes most of the tar and carcinogens, and you dont inhale any plant matter like you would when you smoke. It just vaporizes the thc and other cannaboids/oils but leaves the plant matter alone.
Not to mention edibles, which removes the tar factor completely. Some straight-edgers have no fucking logic.

The problem is that learning is easy, kids learned pot was bad and destroyed brain cells, now all of a sudden people have to learn the exact opposite. @ninjajesus81 The problem with dumb pot smokers is that you can tell who they are, there are probably intelligent people who you have met who also occassionally smoke marijuana. And I'm not trying to be dishonest, they gave rats the synthetic chemical, which was, I believe, 100 times as powerful as THC, which means a small amount of natural THC found in pot may not be enough to show results. They still need to do tests. But you shouldn't just assume something is wrong because it sounds wrong.

And then it says the real thing was given to rats and it didn't have any effect.

if molecules constantly get absorbed into the bloodstream and cross the brain barrier, then the brain is built for chemical activity, so why would marijuana cause problems with this system? THC is not a toxic chemicals that when rubbed on your skin will damage you, so what makes you think that it would damage tissues inside the body, especially since when absorbed the amount of THC will be spread throughout you, compared to a concentrated amount you could rub on your skin.

The New Scientist article explains how a scientist gave rats a synthetic chemical to THC and it stimulates brain cell growth in rats. Well, that's nice and all, but 1) it's not marijuana and 2) it's not humans. And then later in the same article it talks about how a different scientist gave rats THC instead of the synthetic form, and it DIDN'T stimulate brain cell growth.

I have always been for the legalization of marijuana. It would make our jails less full from people going there over some harmless marijuana. To all the naysayers, do your research. No deaths have been linked to marijuana (just like they said in the video and just like I've found at numerous websites). I don't smoke it but have no problem with people who do or it getting legalized.

Agreed on the leading causes of death HOWEVER the biggest probs with mj are depersonalization dissociation and generalized psychosis due to gm'ed strains that are higher in THC vs cannabinoids. The result is indifference and apathy generally and psychosis more specifically. This makes us all easier to control. The thing about long term cannabis use is that in most ppl it quells any motivation towards activism (except for mj legality) and produces apathy. The gov knows this, wants this in the population and has taken steps to mass distribute (through med pot). They have also created an illusion making consumers believe the gov is against it through reverse psychology.

I would guess the smoking pot does kill some brain cell, but by THC, but like how it kill the monkey's brains in the horrible old study, you often deprive you self from enough O2 when taking a good hit. Pot to be replace with any smoke and get the same effect though. It should be noted that pot is, in fact, addictive, both psychological and physical. Study of heavy pot user who stopped smoking had psychological and physical withdrawals. its not as bad as most ppl think, but not harmless.
