OMG....some of these comments coming from UFC fanactics or BJJ's are too effin funny! They're always too focused on the ground on the ground on the ground....LOL! FYI - you keep hugging a dude on the ground in a real street fight....ON A CEMENT....LOL! Prepare to meet serious consequences...not to mention if your opponent has friends....then suddenly your faced with multiple attackers, while your too focused trying to subdue one guy by grappling...WOW.!

However I have Asma aswell.

It will take dedication and hard work to learn however with my condition with Asma I'm wondering and hoping can I still go into Karate?

a tip dude. karate is not good for the streets. take up muay thai or jujitsu. i'm a boxer with a bit of experience in jujitsu and muai thai and i haven't lost a fight or at least i have left my mark on anyone i have faced. karate is flashy but useless against someone that wants to kick your ass

Pretty sad state of affairs when you find it important that you left your mark on someone (and more than once).

The potential threat of physical attack in the real world can't be ignored. However, most people go through life without having to deal with such problems.

For the vast number of people who practise karate, they do so for reasons that have nothing to do with kicking ass or getting your ass kicked.

It's a martial art - a discipline to learn and perfect!

@Crusherrrr18 Hi, I am 46. Started 5 years ago. Graded to black belt with another teenage who had this. Keep your medication handy, get your doctors ok, but go for it! Also tell your instructor that you have asthma.

very good idea I teach karate to kids for free from age 5 to 12 at my dojo I teach them all the way to brown belt that's 3 belts under black lots of info all are welcome they don't even need a uniform if there parents cant bye one it's fine if I can keep just 1 kid from getting hurt to me that is worth more then all the money in the world

well the green belt was the shito ryu, and i'm guessing the blonde blue belt is shotokan and the eldest blue belt is goju ryu
