Very very strange and massive crash. The cameraman said it would be a black flag! It would be a red flag, it should of been. There was a car and medics on the track so they should really
Andy is now ok, he had a broken neck and he was induced into a coma in hospital. He is now back at home and has decided not to race again. This is a real shame as Andy was a really nice guy and promising driver with a bright future ahead of him.
i'm in the tvr team. this shows how savage the accident was. i only saw the aftermath and the car took a beating. all thoughts are with andy. get well soon mate! dave
I was also there, and I wish Andy a speedy recovery. It was a harsh accident and they had to cut him out from what I can see, and it looked like the Air Ambulance considered landing on the track to get him out fast... so any moron posting stupid comments, just think about his family please.
Thank you for you message. A couple of 'mindless morons' have emailed me and appologised regarding their postings - perhaps they should have thought before they posted. On the up side, the family have received many well wishes from drivers and fans who either witnessed or watched footage of the crash. I am finding comfort in reading them and know the immediate family will feel the same. Thanks again Roridge.x
Good to see your cousin back out on track, it was a horrible accident and I'm sure that Andy's recovery has been difficult, which makes him all the braver for going back out on track again! From all British Marshals, offer him a big congratulations!
I am Andy's cousin and would like to inform all well wishers that he is still in a very critical condition but is fighting. Please be respectful towards Andy and his family. We are having a difficult enough time as it is without pathetic comments such as the 2 above. You don't know the facts so until you do, you have no right to pass comments on his judgement.
my step dad was marshalling there on the day and news is (from the day and on forums) that he is in hospital with 3 fractured vertebrates in his neck and lots of internal injuries. he is in a mess really and they are waiting to do an op on his neck, but have to wait for him to recover before they can do it, so have induced a coma to try and get him to recover enough enough. Hoping like hell that he recovers fully as are everyone else
i was there at the time i do not know the guy in the crash but i do hope for his recovery but i have heard bad news at the mo but he hopefully should recover good luck andy
It seems the Mosler clipped the back end of the TVR as it went passed sending it into the wall on the spectators side then back across the track. Would have been impossible for Andy Neate (TVR Driver) to have avoided any on coming cars at that point as the car was damaged from the first hit on the wall. Best wishes to Andy for a speedy recovery.
did that mosler hit the tvr or did he just lose it?

a TVR Sagaris crashing normally never ends up good, considering they don't have any airbags.

On a 24hr race the guy has gone 5yds and spins out! He was playing the long game with his strategy .... Mr Magoo could have done better.

...And luckily only two cars.
But why the Tvr did not slow down as the Porsche that avoided the collision?
