  • not going to lie i almost called you an idiot until i heard 85 bucks lol.

  • Any word on how this turbo has fared? A friend of mine just gave me the exact turbo you're showing here, and I'm going to be installing it sometime in the spring, and I was wondering how it held up, and if there are any issues I should be concerned about?

  • nevertheless, i would never buy a turbo off ebay :/

  • the return like needs to be pointing straight down, you do have some pressure there but that pressure is not met for pushing oil into the pan. The return line needs to be as easy flowing as possible.

  • Blaastperformance. Just talk to them. car-parts. com, 1986-87 Merkur XR4Ti Manual tranny. Garrett .63 ar 100$ and rebuild kit. Viola!!! A real turbo.

  • First of all the oil retun lines matters, second whoever said that they don't use ball bearings is insane!!! Garretts new tech has ball bearings.

  • So what ur saying is NEw ebay turbos. are good enought for a temp turbo...

  • how much would it be to repair the turbo an how long is ur new turbo working out for u bro

  • There's a video where a guy has the perfect combo to keep these trash garbage turbos opperating. Buy real Garrett oil ring seals and use oil recstrictor. Don't know what exactly the other mods are but just buy a Garrett rebuild kit 50-100$ and you might get lucky. There were other mods. BTW is your turbo balanced on the turbine side? Did they mark and grind down the turbine bolt? Cause they could be talking bullshit, trying to promote garbage Ebay GodSpeed trash.

  • The return line is, so it needs to be at the right angle for driving on flkat surfaces and going up and down steep grades. Don't do it yourself if you don't know what your doing. I'm not claiming to be a expert but every car I've owned was turbocharged factory. And always upgrade but installing a turbo on non turbo engine is more than bolt-on. Compression, injectors, fuel, software, +1 most important TUNING

  • @fockyoumang

Not really no, there's 10-90psi of oil pressure on the inlet line, doubt there's absolutely no pressure at the other end (isn't much, but still). But no argument about the tuning.

  • Whoever installed it was an idiot and never clock'd the turbo. The oil drain is gravity feed. Every vid on these blown turbos that I've seen, oil retun was sideways. Theres more to a turbo than bolting it on!!!

  • @fockyoumang

    They're not gravity fed.... lol?

  • @briggsandclones yes they are

  • @PedoBearRunKids

There's pressure on the input. There is pressure on the output lol.

  • @fockyoumang You never know whats the position of the turbo on the engine.

  • well maybe someone bought a chinease ecu with antilag and wrecked it

  • Wtf?

  • both crap!!! you get what you pay for. You really think China makes quality turbos? Look at it this way, you pay a couple hundred for a China turbo that you replace every year, or a grand for a real turbo that lasts 75k miles. If you want a good turbo look at what the car manufacturers are using. You will most likely see garret or IHI.

  • I paid a hundred lol. Only 75k? What type of turbo were you looking at again?

    China casting, Garrett internals.

  • i got the same new turbo u got but im planning on running 7 or less psi u think the turbo will last a while?

  • @sasukeKILLSnaruto1

Sure! Buy a oil restrictor though.

  • @briggsandclones Hey I was thinking about buying a Godspeed turbo. I heard they are not your usual ebay turbos. They even have there own shop in L.A. My question is: What size restrictor should I run. What restricter do you run?

  • Quite honestly, I have no idea. My restrictor plate and tubing came with the turbo. Hell, it looked a bit too small. I'm planning on giving it the most flow I can get... I don't mind burning a tad of oil, but at the rate I've read about these turbos eating bearings, moar oil = better.

  • If you are running a turbo, you should definately have an oil pressure and boost guage.

  • Well obviously o.O

  • thats y they dont have bearings in them they ride on the oil .

  • They HAVE bearings, however, there is a coat of oil inbetween the shaft n' the bearing. Direct metal on metal contact is murder for anything in an engine.

  • @briggsandclones its not ball bearings its bushings, bearings would get fried in a turbo!!!

  • what engine are u putting the turbo on? how much stock hp does it have?

  • Camry. 110BHP or so, probably 70-80 at the wheels, and probably 50-60 see as it's 23 years old.

  • @briggsandclones ahh i see. how much boost where u lookin at having?

  • ~30psi

  • @briggsandclones haha thats pretty high for an old engine, but it sounds sick!

  • i got a turbo thats almost 100,000k on it and has the same side shaft play as your new one

  • The new one just needs oil. Remember, there is ALWAYS oil inbetween the bearing and the shaft. Same with the rod and the crankshaft, bushings, ect.

You can hear the "squishing" sound, as in force I'm exerting on the shaft is effectively squishing out the pre-loob they put on the shaft at the factory. Put some oil into it, and I guarantee there'll be almost no shaft play (or none at all :D)

  • maybe faulty turbo

  • Nah, user-killed.

  • that is crap!! pull the new one apart and put GOOD oil in it

  • Lol yup.
