  • @jcoyden Hi! If that's so, then I'm obliged to appologize. A feeling someone is waiting and recording other human being's destruction, or death, is a frustraiting anger and helplesness while seeing it. Hope the reason to record, and do nothing else then that, is real. John knows it best. If it's true, I am sorry if my comment did anything negative or bad. Please pass this on to him.

And thank you! For the effort, for helping and, in fact, doing the best thing to clear this things out.

  • No problem fire in your home is the worst thing that could happend to you even if you don't get hurt the lost of many inreplaceble things is even worst.

I am glad she is okay

  • Better record then jump to help. Take all the credits.

  • @BanDragonja I'm a reporter for one of the local newspapers. Actually spoke to John today. He's the man who video recorded this tape. At this time last year he was on crutches awaiting surgery for a knee replacement. He said he felt helpless as he was unable to help with the rescue, which is why you can hear him on the video saying "somebody help her." That area has a lot of seniors who live there and they were physically unable to help much.Just wanted to clear that up for you.

  • As a former fire dep't member, I never witnessed anything like this before. I "assume" it was another gas rupture?

  • Great movie well made and the woman survive? i think she went with the police

  • @marcelrotgans Yes she survived and is fully recovered from a physical standpoint. She suffered minor burns and abrasions. Obviously though she is still dealing with psychological issues and suffers from PTSD but is being treated for it. thanks for your concern.

  • It sounds as if this was leaking gas. Both nat. gas and oxygen are scary as hell; my cousin's house exploded in 1977 just from road work though they had no gas service. That must be aluminum siding; if it had been vinyl rather than aluminum and brick on those houses, half the block might have gone. Hope the woman recovered OK after the rescue. Good job, ATT guys!

  • eddie murphy < now thats a fire

  • The preuis... Got out unharmed... This has angered the universe...

  • guy holding camera should be helping too instead of being dramatic.

  • @djsmexyy why would you want a retard inpeading a rescue?

  • @djsmexyy guy holding camera was a senior citizen and on crutches from a recent surgery. He could not physically help which is what pained him the most. That's why he was saying "somebody help her." on the camera. All is well now as the victim has fully recovered!

  • OMG! She's gonna die! (And I am going to take video every second of this terrible tragedy!)

  • that fire spread fast wow

  • Potato, that is all.

  • That was my auntie Yoli!!

  • This is a big problem with wooden structures. They look pretty, but when they catch fire, they usually burn to the ground.

  • @SnappyPenguins Just as the Titantic was not unsinkable, any building can have a fire. It's also untrue that they usually burn to the ground. Even old "brick" buildings usually have a lot of wood interior. If all the walls and ceilings have drywall or plaster, a building can be saved if the fire can be put out before too long.

  • @ffjsb Maybe I was exaggerating slightly, but I was talking in comparison to brick structures.

  • @SnappyPenguins Just remember, if you fill that brick building full of flammable stuff, you can still have a heck of a fire. Wood building can have rapid fire spread through voids though.

  • @ffjsb But in terms of actual structure, the wooden house would be the most likely to burn down.

  • @ffjsb thanks I forgot, just remeber Im govt. union educated

  • @dav61474 Are you replying to me, or dmarsh223??

  • @ffjsb dmarsh you smuck

  • @dav61474 Well next you should pay attention to which reply box you hit. And it's spelled SCHMUCK, genius.

  • @ffjsb ok i will and thanks for the grammar lesson.... schmuck

  • Thank God for those AT&T workers. Otherwise that poor woman would have died.

  • i live right next to that house and i just got off of my school bus

  • HOLLY S**T!!!!

  • seen no rescue

  • Actually, it did not take 3 minutes to call. If you look at the lady in the green sweatshirt on the porch you can see her on the phone. She was calling 911.But the whole process takes time. Thankfully Ron Shockley and his coworker did not wait for "official" help to arrive.

  • @mrsnee1 it says the fd was on scene within 3 minutes of getting the call. please learn to read before correcting others....

  • @dmarsh223 hey retart. the fd didn;t show up untill 5.45 . fucking democrat, and its a crack house, let em burn

  • that was GOD no doubt about it. GOD spared her life there is no reason why anyone should not be praising and worshipping HIM NO REASON AT ALL

  • @valpolover09 Every day thousands of rescues like this are attempted. Some succeed and the victims are saved, some fail and the victims die. This is to be expected, god or no-god. Are you saying that GOD wanted all the victims who couldn't be rescued to die?

  • What's so amazing after the AT&T guy brings her down ,the woman has no shoes, he takes his boots off (2:05)and has her wear his. Both AT&T workers go right back to their job sites(5:10) as if it was just another day..... awesome job ..... sorry Comcast it's time for Uverse........

  • @4divalicious: Fire did not receive the call immediately. They were on the scene within three minutes of getting the call.

  • @enewspf Heavens! It took 3 min to call the Fire dept?!? Thanks to the AT&T guys she was rescued. She was very fortunate.

  • My question is, what the heck took the fire department so long to get there? I'm from Park Forest and the town is so small, there's no way we should have been able to watch a full 6 minutes of video before they arrived!

  • Oh my,, my heart was beating so fast while watching it.. yes, she had angels over her. The two AT&T techs were great! Wooo

  • how do you have an escape plan when it blows up?????? She is very lucky to be alive sure had some one watching over her that day!!!!!!

  • Those two guys in the orange vests rescuing that lady are AT&T technicians that I work with. I'm proud to work with those guys!

  • You really have to enlarge this video for 'full-screen' in order to see the actual rescue w/ladder from guy directly across the street before the other ladder guy running up the street.

  • Wow. Thanks for posting this. Not only for the successful rescue, but to show just how quickly a house can go up in flames. Everybody should have an escape plan...
