  • you could add instead of a timer a float switch so when the water goes below the fill line the pump turns on and when the water reaches that fill line the pump turns off

  • cool

  • I have a few questions.

1: What if you have a dog (Not that I have one, I'm just asking) that drinks from the toilet?

2: Couldn't you just cut the drain pipe, add two 90 degree elbows, and the top half of the pipe goes to the barrel and the bottom for an overflow?

3: I've seen other videos about greywater systems that involve cleaning the water before using it to flush your toilet so is that needed or not?

  • @sonotentei 1. if you have a dog that drinks from the toilet, then I would say its not a good idea to do this project. 2. I didn't actually think about adding an overflow that way, that is a good idea, i'll have to try it. 3. If you plan on having the water stored for more than 2 days at a time, then I would say that it is a very very good idea to have a system that cleans the water, but if you are using it very quickly then I do not see the need for it.

  • you could always connect the water line from the tank onto the mains inlet- with a special connector which makes it from large-small hosing. Then you won't need to watch it fill up

  • @bestbets1 that is a good idea, I hadn't thought about that. Maybe I'll have to try it if I get a chance.
