@briannwo1900, It is always more crowded the closer it gets to summer ending. And yes it is open in August. And the special armbands? Well there are these things that allow you to get a tube at the front of the major rides without carrying it up or waiting in line.

Its a fun park... unfortunately people have to do stupid stuff like jumping out of rafts that sometimes delay rides, almost get people hurt, etc.

I went to Water World in 1983 or 84, cant remember. I DO remember being there all afternoon and watching the thunderheads buliding up on the mountians until they came down over the urban center (to the south of the park) We then left and heard there had been a tornado on I25 just to the north.
