Great as the song is, its sounds quite hollow without Freddie's voice. It is only after you listen to a Queen song without him in it that you realise how invaluable he is in Queen. Freddie Mercury is Queen!

I don't know why so many people says this song is so high, because it really isn't Maybe it's because I'm a girl, but this song is very singable if you know the rhythm of the song and how the words fit in with the melody. It's also very beltable, which gets harder the higher on the scale you go.

yes I do, and boys can be sopranoes aswell. I'm a mezzo soprano, and my highest note is a high D. I can also go very low. If you want to se a boy sing soprano, then seach Glee defying gravity Kurt. That song has a high F.

@kwanyin233 i think u mean soprano D? because if you really mean high D then that's pretty low, especially for a girl (or you're a contralto). Male sopranos are usually countertenors. Kurt usually sings in head voice and I think he's range fits a mezzo or alto. I'm thankful though, got a good range I'm very proud of. Still havent really determined my lowest but I know my highest.

A soprano D and a high D is 2 different names for the same note. Soprano singers usually have a range from a middle C - high C or D. Some go higher. I have a pretty big range. Kurt may sing in a head voice, but that doesn't make his range lower.

that is why i'm asking for clarification...because a high D as your highest note as a mezzo is trivial. are you sure you can't go higher than that??? or you just meant in chest voice which is understandable. i think we are confusing terms. sopranos can go up to soprano D (D6). high C is tenor C (C5) :o\ I didn't say Kurt has a small range. He has a good one for a guy but nothing special.

@kwanyin233 the song is high for bass and baritones. It is, I'm a guy but not a baritone, but I know it's high. It has constant G4s, that's too high for your average baritone...most probably, this song fits more for a baritenor or low tenors and up. Normal baritones will need a lot of practice to pull this off.
