My addiction to cutting etc. was living my life for me. It gets better if you try hard at it. Two years I've cut my self and I've been completely clean from cutting for two months and I finally feel like i'm starting to live my life not have it lived for me.

@pr0rang3r5 I would say there is different versions of god. I'm Christian but hate to say that people who don't follow the Christian religion are going to hell. So i myself figure other religions are seeing and worshiping different appearances of the same god that Christians, Catholic, etc worship.

Why are there religious debates being discussed here for this video? Is this band a christian rock band or something? There are ten , maybe twenty thousand or more religious videos on YouTube. funny thing is- according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, as of 1997 (which is fairly recent) Atheists made up merely 0.21% of the inmate population. The majority of inmates were of Catholic and Protestant religious affiliation. In fact, Catholics made up 39.164% and Protestants made up 35.008% .
Just throwing it in there, but merely 7.273% were Muslim...
Based on these cold statistics, i'd say that most Atheists' senses of morality are highly likely beneficial.

Not to say Christians are perfect, we are all sinners, but just because you claim to be of a certain religion does not mean you try to follow the teachings of any said religion. i went to SWitchfoots concert last night and during this song the lead singer came off stage and sang to the audience and i got to be right next to him and touch his hand, then after the concert we got some stuff signed and i got to meet them twice! they were all so awsome and really down to earth! i love them!

Well you're not thinking straight, I mean seriously every atheist I've ever talked to CLAIM that their belief is the absence of belief, so atheists have NOTHING to know about. There is a general trend though, with the exceptional few I have found that atheists tend to be namecallers.
Atheism is DEFINED by atheists as a non belief system, but that is NOT what it is. I am sorry to tell you this, but if anyone lives without any sort of belief they would obviously be robots. Atheism is a religion, but atheists define it as a non-religion. There would be no point in having a name if it wasn't a religion. So the fact that there is a name specifies that it is a general belief, and therefore is a religion. The absence of someone to follow? that's true.
Agreed, Atheists have as strong a conviction that there is no God, as a Christian who is convicted that there is a God, and then you have people like Richard Dawkins, and Christopher Hitchens selling t-shirts and books, and is that a "fish with feet" bumper sticker representing atheist's beliefs? It isn't a religion per se, but they certainly believe in something very strongly, which is all they believe religion to be anyways.

Why are there religious debates being discussed here for this video? Is this band a christian rock band or something? There are ten , maybe twenty thousand or more religious videos on YouTube. This is not one of them. I don't understand why the debate. Deltanalliance should have deleted all those comments. Great song. Poor video quality.

@brent1125 How i'd just loooovee to get into a religious debate with you, i know from experience how this arguments usually turn out in the end. Both sides are equally stubborn and will probably end in a stalemate, but really, in the end, it's as they say:
"Arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still a retard."

funny thing is- according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, as of 1997 (which is fairly recent) Atheists made up merely 0.21% of the inmate population. The majority of inmates were of Catholic and Protestant religious affiliation. In fact, Catholics made up 39.164% and Protestants made up 35.008% .
Just throwing it in there, but merely 7.273% were Muslim...
Based on these cold statistics, i'd say that most Atheists' senses of morality are highly likely beneficial.

@loki289 claiming to be affiliated with a group does not mean you are. Not to say Christians are perfect, we are all sinners, but just because you claim to be of a certain religion does not mean you try to follow the teachings of any said religion. Most people in the US claim to believe in God, but i bet many of those people are not affiliated with a religion other than going to church twice a year

@loki289 You should probably take in account the total population break down of religious affiliation in the United States as a whole. If you know anything about statistics, the number will appeal larger, based upon the amount of Catholic/Protestant affiliation in the States as a whole.

i went to SWitchfoots concert last night and during this song the lead singer came off stage and sang to the audience and i got to be right next to him and touch his hand, then after the concert we got some stuff signed and i got to meet them twice! they were all so awsome and really down to earth! i love them!

This song's amazing! I was thinking about it and I think that this song's about not our life, but what are we going to do with it? When problems come, when falls and failures come, what are you going to do? Are you going to complain and just ask why? DON'T. "This is your life, are you who you want to be?" "well lets see you robbed at gunpoint" been there done that, i can have a gun to my head and not see god, because there is no god. youre "getting to know" that place in your head that creates and psychologically wishes for a god. that gun to your head just created a need for that more than ever. end of story.

Well you're not thinking straight, I mean seriously every atheist I've ever talked to CLAIM that their belief is the absence of belief, so atheists have NOTHING to know about. There is a general trend though, with the exceptional few I have found that atheists tend to be namecallers.

Atheism is DEFINED by atheists as a non belief system, but that is NOT what it is. I am sorry to tell you this, but if anyone lives without any sort of belief they would obviously be robots. Atheism is a religion, but atheists define it as a non-religion. There would be no point in having a name if it wasn't a religion. So the fact that there is a name specifies that it is a general belief, and therefore is a religion. The absence of someone to follow? that's true.

Agreed, Atheists have as strong a conviction that there is no God, as a Christian who is convicted that there is a God, and then you have people like Richard Dawkins, and Christopher Hitchens selling t-shirts and books, and is that a "fish with feet" bumper sticker representing atheist's beliefs? It isn't a religion per se, but they certainly believe in something very strongly, which is all they believe religion to be anyways.

Also I suggest that you stop taking songs out of context, if you take ONE song, you have to take the whole album. now, the entire album is based on the failure of mankind, or the Beautiful Letdown, and most of the songs have references to God. To only look at one song (that points at the failure of man which is the context.) is just twisting the song's meaning. But of course, it wouldn't fit in your small belief system if you couldn't take it out of context.

That is the truth about atheism, it is a religion that is self-indulgent, proven many times over by the ideals Killing your own children is fine Population control helps everyone Religion is weaker than the individual So forth. You are your own God, denying that anything is more powerful than yourself proves this fact. Now, the nice thing is it really doesn't matter what you think, it's only how you affect others I suppose ^^ But looking down on others has always been a selfish trait.
