  • I jumped the gun haha, 500 is a nice deal!!

  • @steelcurtain41286 No problem. For the money I paid, I think it was a good deal and added another 1911 model to the collection. Shoots fantastic too.

  • Love your gun man! How much out the door was she?

  • ruger sr1911 would smash that

  • is that the new CLI TAURUS? hahahahhahahhaha

  • @cauterful LOL, not new, but still a very nice Cli Taurus

  • Gonna buy one

  • why would anyone want a taurus of any kind?!!!

  • @TheChamberofFarts I wondered the same thing! All these people that are buying these pieces of shit are just being cheap! Taurus is NOT the gun you want to save your life or the life of your family! Taurus got lucky and came across Beretta's design at the perfect time when patents and what not were over. Taurus is and will always be a sub par gun maker! If you buy this piece of shit you are either broke, dumb, cheap, inexperienced, ghetto or all of the above! Dummies!

  • With this video being close to 2 years old...how is this holding up so far?

I'm thinking about buying one soon

  • nice

  • I like that

  • did put rounds in a 7 inch circle on 25yrds with my PT .45 is that any good ?

  • @Hoschi0913 I think thats actually good shooting

  • Looks like 2 dislikers got shot by a PT1911.

  • When you were taking it apart, did you have any trouble taking the firing pin stop out?

I have a Taurus 1911 and I had a heck of a time getting it out of mine.

  • @TheGunEnthusiast67 Hi, I didnt have any issues with mine. It was a little stiff, but came out.

  • Great review. I'm thinking of picking one of these up, Seems like you get a lot of gun for the money. Your PT1911 looks awesome with those grips. I need to find some grips like that for my Springfield GI.

  • @jermz999 It is a great gun and like you said, you do get a lot for your money. Mine still shoots perfectly and the ambi safety still has no issues like some people have told me that I would have.

  • lol when he said fine im sure he said fuck fine . xD

  • I want to thank you for being honest in your review. For decades I saw people parroting their grandparents opinions on Taurus guns. The factof the matter is Taurus is a fine Gun Factory. Some friends gaev gig money on kimbers and had their guns sent back to Kimber for repairs. i am talking about at least 4 friends in the last 2 years. In fact it cost them an arm and a leg. 2 of them have Tauruses. One of my carry guns is a 24/7 iPro in 9. Ran about 15000 rds with no FTF or FTE.

  • @lhusby Hi, what I'm trying to achieve is that anyone who spends their hard earned dollar should get what they pay for. Too many people are not so biased on their reviews and tend to lead the consumer in a different path.

  • So your sayin that the slide loosened up after shooting? because when i was at a gunshop i had a springfield gi and a pt 1911, and the gi was much easier to slide.

  • @SpdDemon69 yes the slide and frame should mate up after a few hundred rounds making the slide much easier to rack.

  • Ive heard about the amb-safty braking on this model as well . you can replace with a wilson combat part.

  • Outstanding review! I'm not a big fan of Taurus since I had some bad experiences with their firearms and customer service. But it seem like you know your stuff about 1911, congrats on the great buy : )

  • @Zenmagine Thanks! The Taurus PT1911 is far different than any other taurus pistols I've shot. You really can't go wrong with a 1911 platform. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

  • when you say stainless steel finish does that mean its just plated ?...not really made from stainless steel?

  • @EvendimataE No, it is made of stainless steel, both the frame and slide.

  • i have this same pistol and its flawless.ppl tend to say that taurus makes shitty guns but they got their stuff right on this gun.i recommend this gun to anyone who is looking to add a 1911 to their collection.

  • The gun is cool looking.

  • I dont get it, i got the same gun in stainless steel and mine is knowhere near that shiny. Its like a reg metal look. Did u polish it or what?

  • @MrAzcabowabo You may have gotten the matte finish version. Min is polished on the flats and matte on the curves. I know I have seen the all matte finishes before. I think you may have that.

  • that gun is too fu**ing expensive in manila..$1,000

  • nice review!! you should do more gun reviews

  • @Nicho2177 Thanks. I wish I could do a review on more guns soon, but finances are limited due to the upcoming holidays.

  • @chanderson1 I totally understand its eating me too..

  • I just wish Taurus would make a Commander, an Officers Model, or ultimately a CCO.

  • a 550 dollar 1911 will shoot just as good as a 1000 dollar 1911

  • excellent video!

  • @vipergts333 Thanks! Glad you liked it and thanks for watching!

  • nice video. love my PT1911. i got a kimber raptor a couple of months ago and the damn thing has a plastic MSH talk about shock. that will be replace with in the next month or soo.

  • I love my Taurus PT1911!!! - GREAT REVIEW!!

  • good review. much more direct and to the point than nutnfancies review of this gun. i purchased this gun today at my shop and watching this review makes me feel good about my purchase.

  • @FieldBoy111 I think there are alot of mis-information on such a great pistol. I'm still shooting mine to this day and it has perfrormed as well as my $1300 Kimber. Thank you for the kind words. Nuntfancy has great info and very detailed videos. I'm not really as good with words as he is, but I try and get to the point. Appreciate the comment and thanks for taking the time to watch.

  • Great review! Good facts. I saw this review before and it was one reason i got the Taurus. Thanks again Bro!

  • Kimber is just an overpriced Taurus

  • I have gotten the Taurus PT1911. I had the same problem, my ambi safety came apart. Taurus sent a box to ship it back to them and fixed the problem and shipped it right back to me. I have had no problems ever since. Great vid and review. It is refreshing seeing a non Taurus hater do an honest review of this particular handgun...

  • @daywalker627 Thanks, just giving my personal opinion on things and trying to be as non biased as possible. Still have the gun and still a great shooter.

  • Just a warning to potential buyers. I had one and it jammed constantly. The safety always locked it up and the safety fell out on a regular basis. DO NOT BUY! go with an XD instead. Yes, I took it to a smith several times, and it continued to fail. No matter what I fed it, no matter how clean it was, it jammed.

It also shot a terrible group. didn't hit the target once at ten yards. I urge you to not buy it. As good as some are, do you want to risk it being like mine?

  • @Jarvisx51 there guns all come with a lifetime warranty. Why didn't you let taurus fix it?

  • @jemustang1966 There's no fix for a barrel that shoots out in 2000 rounds. I now have an XD and I've gone from occasionally hitting the paper to shooting groups over night.

  • I don't understand the "skeletonized" trigger... With their stupid(incredibly stupid) gun lock it would look much better to have a more traditional style hammer. It looks like they added material to skeletonize it on that gun.

  • NIce looking Taurus. I'm thinking of getting the PT1911 so I'm glad to hear you've had so much good fortune with it. Out of curiosity do you just use a silicon rag to wipe off that factory rust protector or is there an easier way to remove it? I had a heck of a time getting it off of my Mossberg 500.

  • Great vid. I think you and Pete have convinced me to get a Taurus. My shop has a black one in the case.

  • Thank you! I have now over 1600 flawless rounds. I keep anticipating the right side safety lever to pop off like alot of people have said, but still on there solid. Still a great shooter and well worth the money I spent on this gun.

  • @chanderson1 Ive been really debating this gun. Never been a Taurus fan, but I hear mostly good things about this gun. Only thing I dont like is the hammer. A friend let me shoot his and it ran like a champ.

  • I think i'm gonna have to pick one of these up.

  • Its been a great gun so far. No problems with it and runnin' smooth.

  • @JobForAGunXx me too!

  • Thanks, very informative! This gun seems like a good bet for a 1911 beginner.

  • So far mine is running very strong. It roughly has about 900 rounds through it now and everything seems good. I checked the right side safety lever and it is still holding tight. Love the accuracy of this affordable 1911. Thank you for your comment!

  • good vid 5 stars. cosmoline is a mixture of beeswax and parafin

  • Hi, thanks! I'm not quite sure exactly what cosmoline is, but some people have told me that it can be toxic. Thanks for the comment!

  • That's one thing (of the many) I love about 1911's, the width for carry. Any problems with your wilson mags? I just sent one back to Wilson. As always great vid. I've been looking forward to watching this one for some time.

  • No problems with any of my WM 47Ds as of yet and I've put many rounds through them so far. The other mags I like are the Kim-Tac Pros. Those are some awesome mags and a little lower in price. I've gone to my local shop and they sell the WC mags for $49 a piece, then I saw them at CheaperthanDirt for $29 so I got a few of them. Appreciate all the positive comments man!

  • My father purchased one of these last year for $600. He loves it.....no jambs or malfunctions.

  • I took mine out last week and still performs flawlessly. I have noticed that the right side safety is still holding strong and no problems so far. Shot it side by side with my Kimber and it shoots just as good. Thanks for the comment!

  • Just bought one last week. Going out to shoot it tommorw cant wait.

  • Watch out mate. The fucking hammer-lock on that pistol locks up quite often during shooting, you had better get it switched out for a normal hammer and shear.

Other than that I love this gun.

  • Thanks for the heads up. This is just my range gun and not used for personal or home protection. I've got some extra parts for the 1911 laying around and I think I'll switch them out soon. Take care and thanks for the comment!

  • what is the name of the grips? I'd like to buy myself a pair.

  • Hi, I bought them from a private seller on ebay. At the time I bought them, he only had made a dozen or so, but now I dont see them anymore.

  • hey bro just got one myself for 500.00

glad to hear there no problems.check mine out the vids called (couldn't pass it up) just got it today

  • I have nothing to complain about with mine. It has been running smooth since day one. Good luck with it man!

  • good review thank you.

  • Thanks, glad you liked it and thank you for the comment!

  • Excellent review, thanks! I love my PT1911, interesting what you said about the slide catching, mine is doing the same but I've only put about 100 rounds through it. Great gun for any price.

  • Little off topic. Do you have any problems with the bottom of your wilson mag coming off? When I load the mag part way and slam it in the gun, the slam pad has a tendency to move almost halfway off the mag.

  • Nope, never had that issue yet. I've used WC mags even for competition and never had one do that to me. The ones I've owned always had two screws that mount the pad onto the bottom of the mag and its very sturdy. I also use it in my Kimber and never had any issues with that gun as well. I'm starting to use the Kim-Tac mags now and they perform just as well as the WC mags.

  • You may want to double check the spring stop plate at the bottom of the mag and see if the plunger is worn or defective. If the plunger is not seated properly, then it will cause that plate to move.

  • I might swing for a pt1911 soon because I don't know anywhere that has a Charles Daly 1911 in stock, which are also very good for little $. I notice only the flat surfaces are polished and everything has a sort of silver powder caoting on it, did the gun come that way?

  • yes the flats are polished and thats the way the pistol comes from the factory. I like it alot. It shoots perfect and I dont understand why people give taurus such a hard time.

  • as far as reliability which one is more reliable? including the "break in period" which im not very comfortable with.

  • I think the Taurus that I have has been very reliable. As far as the break in period. I think a break in period is a good thing. Not only does it let you get use to the gun, but it also lets you see how it performs before you start carrying it as your primary ccw. I would never trust ANY gun as my ccw, unless I've taken it to the range and shot at least a few hundred rounds through it first...

  • Cool review. You should polish the ambi safeties, trigger, slide cache and hammer. They look great! I did it on my 1911 SS AR.

  • Yeah man, I've seen that done and it looks really nice to me also. Thanks for the comment.

  • wow, great review. Ive been on the fence with this gun as Ive always been suspect of Taurus quality. I hear a lot of god things about this model though. I too heard that the ambi safeties like to take a dump. Ill probably just replace it with a wilson combat. I'm gonna finally pick one of these up based on your review. I love the kimber warrior looking grips as well. Ill also probably change the hammer,

  • I've heard it was hit and miss with these Tauruses, but mine seems to be performing just fine. I shot 100 rounds through it last week and again it was flawless and as accurate as my Kimber. For the price, I think you cannot beat what your getting. Anyways, I hope you have as good a luck as I did with mine.

  • Taurus has come a long way baby..people have to get past the Beretta snobbery and take another look at Taurus.

  • Yes your right. I'm not really sure about the company as a whole and I have heard really bad customer service there, but as far as the PT1911 goes, I have absolutely no doubt that its a good shooter. Currently I have over 1000 rounds through it and no jams or problems...period. Thanks for the comment.

  • great looking pistol.

  • Nice gun Great Review keep em Comming buddy

  • sweet :)

  • AWESOME DAM GUN !!!!

  • LOL..thanks ! dont know why this vid is taking so long to process though.

  • DOnt sweat it. sometimes its done and youtube dont notify you. on my screen is good. and has HD...

  • yeah this is a really nice gun It's at a good price too I've seen them up close before. I like the new Para GI .45 model it's great and it's all around the same price as this.

  • yeah this is my first experience with a Taurus pistol of any kind and I've gotta say that I am definetly impressed with it. I've also heard good things about para ordinance.

  • It's a good gun but I wonder if it's just me... do you think the slide is just a little too shinny if that makes sense? maby it's just the hd picture.

  • well the slide is polished. I prefer a more subdued pistol. If it were a bead blased finish, i think would look great. Unfortunately I think the only ones that are like that are the PT1911AR and PT1911AL models. I personally didnt like the AR with that big rail system and the didnt want the AL because I wanted a full steel frame, so I had no choices really.

  • yeah I completely agree I would not want the one with the Tac Rail I don't know how rugged it would be especially from taurus also...

  • Great review 5*s. Watch the sear.I had a Colt Gold Cup and the sear failed. I hope it works out good.Great lighting.

  • Thanks for the tip bill. Will keep an eye out for it.
