  • Go get em AL! You will make a terrific Senator. It is obvious that you care about the middle class and the little guy.

  • Franken got on SNL because his family owned NBC stock.

Producer Michaels had to hire the no tallent bosses kid.

Franken had to resort to slimeball comedy, he has no original thought.

    His debates are typical Liberal.

Change the subject and start calling names.

  • you are a simple person, just a simple person. and so very wrong, i know how he got on SNL and thats not how. How do i know this, he came to my high school and spoke to us. We had a Q&A and i asked him how Lorne found him and how he got on SNL and he said that Lorne found him and Tom Davis in small comedy clubs in LA. So tell the truth when you say something, ok?

  • Heaven forbid that Norm Coleman becomes a lobbyist!

  • Run Al, Run!

  • YES YES YES!!! This is an exciting year to vote! It's time for our government to start serving the people of the United States again.

    Mr. Franken, you're awesome.

  • You are going to pass a law that keeps people from getting employment? Land of the Free, huh.

  • Nobody is forcing them to become congressmen. We already recognize that their is such a thing as conflict of interest. That's why judges recuse themselves from cases, etc. The bottom line is the country has every right to prevent our own representatives from having the chance to sell us out. They want to be lobbyists? Don't run for congress. Their choice.

  • you couldnt think of anything that made sense ?

  • GO FRANKEN! IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!

  • He should be President someday. He'd be better than anyone running today.

  • great point thucy2.

its becoming a ridiculous use of power that shouldnt be granted so easily.

i would love to see see something such as Big Education. lets welcome that with open arms lol.

  • Go Franken.

  • Could someone please explain just how keeping former congressmen from lobbying is going to reduce the price of gasoline? Where does this fit in with supply, demand and taxation? I cannot fathom how prohibiting a select few from speaking on behalf of companies regarding state and federal regulations is going to reduce the price of gas.

  • Go Franken.

  • sure. i'll try to take that on for you. just connect the dots. if lobbyists write the laws, then money siphons to oil companies in the form of huge tax breaks. money for alternate technologies dries up. the republican congress gave out billions in subsidies to those buying huge suvs, but would only give a paltry few million for prius buyers. there's a jungle of laws written to favor the oil companies, for example, and hurt the rest of us. former members have extremely good access to their pals.

  • In order to reduce the effectiveness of the oil lobby and increase our efforts to produce alternative energy sources. Thats how.

  • Will some famous person come help out Franken somebody anybody would be way cool to have him on the hill.

  • Al Franken is my hero. :)

  • I hope he also means Big Education and Big Unions?

  • Sure vencof, and how many former members of Congress lobby for "Big Education and Big Unions" versus Big Oil, Big Pharma, and Big Tobbaco? Nice try, but weak..............

  • Thanks for pointing this out vencof! We all know that the real money is in "Big Education"...

  • Big Education? Really?

How about Big Oil, Big Insurance, Big Media, Big Agriculture, Big Automotive, Big Finance, on and on and on. It's the corporations that fix prices, squeezes smalll business, cheats the IRS (and we pay), create monopolies, sends American jobs to Mexico and Asia, profits from war and funds corrupt politicans like Norm Coleman.

What's Big Education lobbying for, better universities and K-12 schools?

  • A lot of small businesses are corporations. Architecture and law firms, grocery stores, you name it. They don't dodge their taxes...much and when they do they have to pay fines. And what's wrong with international trade? It helps develop poor nations. So you won't be able to make a living putting in headlights, maybe if you'd bothered to finish school you'd get to be an engineer. And care to explain how Norm is corrupt?

Education gets 1/2 the budget in Minnesota, they don't need more.

  • This is a great idea.

Here's a thought. How about we prohibit presidents from pardoning anyone who served in their own administration? I doubt the Founding Fathers meant the presidential pardon to be a "get out of jail free" card to any particular president's cronies and partners in crime. If a president wants to pardon members of a previous administration, fine, but he or she shouldn't have the power to exempt his own underlings from legal accountability.

  • noted without comment: "... a lot of those lobbyists, whether you like it or not, represent real Americans. ... They represent nurses. They represent ... social workers. They represent ... corporations. They employ a lot of people." - Hillary Clinton

  • Great ad Al!!

Send Coleman packing, besides once president Obama is in office Coleman will no longer have Bush's water to carry!!!

  • there is about a 20% chance that dems will get 60 senate seats this november. if you want to help that happen, support al franken! every extra democratic senate seat counts!

good commercial, al! keep them coming!

  • Great idea, but as long as there's at least 40 Republican Senators it will be filibustered.

  • that's why you need to support Al! we can reach 60 this year, if you help!

  • Good one, Al!!

You're gonna win, because we are fed up with being screwed by the oligarchs!

See you Saturday at the picnic!

  • You go, Al!

  • I love Al Franken!

Al represents everything that's right with America.

  • "how about never?" i love it. and that's why i approve Al's message!
