quite possibly the best description for simmering ive heard.

  • what a faggy meal

  • Oh God, pronouncing "herb" as "urb". One of my pet peeves. Americans, y u pretend to be French?

  • @FredericBayer

    Aluminium?

    Aloominum?

    Huh?

  • @bazmaxholland Lol he does!!!!

  • i love your way of cooking and ur so encouraging ! we need more human beings like you..thanks you! ^.^

  • Oh man! Those close ups at the end are painful! Looks sooo GOOD!! Have mercy!

  • I LOVE YOUR VOICE

  • That tuna must be severly over cook by the end of the cooking process considering it's already cooked to being with.

  • Italian MSG?? love that!!!

  • Wait a minute - you 'won' a year's supply of the 'best' tuna?

    Smells a bit fishy tbh

  • Can you do a 30-minute grating demo video?

    :D

  • this guy sounds like kyle gass from tenacious d lol

  • I want a grating demo!

  • So, I was wondering if I can use this to finish up extra pasta sauce. Would that give desirable/similar results? And how would I go about fixing the recipe so that it would.

  • jeez. havent drooled this much over food before

  • Thank you for your video. :)

  • Made this tonight, added some old bay seasoning...I'd thought I went over board with the red pepper flakes but it played nicely with the sweetness of the tomato sauce! Great recipe

  • BS pardon my language lol :D

  • Made it today, twasted amazing!

  • use fresh salmon instead of tuna

    some olive oil

can mushroom soup then the can with v8 or tomato juice v8

    plenty of freesh garlic

    so good

even use basmati rice I am.:)

  • Ooooooo, you make me wonna just cook, there's something about your cooking presentation that gives one that push, and joy to cook.

    Keep up the good work.

    Happy New Year.

  • whoever said you cant mix tuna, tomato and cheese is missing out

thank chef , this is one of my favorite meals because it is simple to cook and it full of flavor

im considering going out and buy tomato soup just to try this out

  • So when you put the pasta back in the pot with the sauce and cheese, you don't turn the stove on, right??? Just use the heat that's already in the pasta and sauce?

  • @Moontess correct.

  • @mylilhannah thanks! ^_^

  • @Moontess i made this the other day and honestly, it's the best dish i've had in a longgg time.

  • the soup is genious! i think i'd make this with more cheese and chicken instead of tuner though....

  • Wat tomato soup? :(

  • aaaahhh im hungry :(

  • Chef John said a bad word.

  • 4:27 cheese with fish ??? O_O this is so wrong...

  • I L-O-V-E CHEF JOHN!

  • Chef John,

    Jong-Yun from North Korea here.

I made this for my family to eat and it was delicious, but unfortunately my children were taken from me because our dear leader wanted the recipe

    Thanks for the recipe though.

  • This is a perfect dish for a college student thinking outside the box for dinner, everything was already in my pantry :)

  • 200g of pasta, cook first

add a tin of tuna, heinz tomato soup, a little hotsauce and plenty of cheese

20 minutes in oven, perfect bachelor food. need to try this "proper" version once i get the stuff in

  • Hi chef, this is Samantha from the U.S. and I would just like to say that I made this and I absolutely LOVED it! Thanks again for a great recipe!

  • I think i need that grating demo @.@

  • Chef John,

    Benjamin here from Singapore.

I made this for dinner and just wanted to say it's SO AWESOME! I made this for my younger brother who absolutely hates tomatoes and he literally licked the bowl clean.

Great job! Thanks so much for this recipe :)

  • @benjaminhoong Yay! Another fellow singaporean person who watches this Awesome CHEF!

  • Comment removed

  • @benjaminhoong dude! did u use the special tuna he told us to use? and if u did, where did u get it?! trader's joe's? i cant seem to find anything here in SG :(

  • Hey Chef John! The first time I made this recipe was a couple of months ago. I was VERY pleased. Very yummy. I did adjust it a little bit though, I used angel hair pasta (because I love rolling pasta on a fork! Is there a better feeling? No.) Put cans of Hunts tomato sauce in it, with just regular cans of tuna and some olive oil. Put some Italian spices in it...(because...I'm Italian!)

But...I didn't have any real parm. :( I'm sorry. I have failed you.

I'm thirteen by the way. :D

  • im only 13 but im a better cook then my parents XD and also a pescetarian so i cant eat red meant but i can eat seafood, eggs, and dairy. Thank you so much for this helpful recipie its a great way for me 2 get some protien. thanks again!

  • So I should rinse my pasta?

  • em fasting but if i cant eat atleast i can see the delicious so so so delicious food lmfao :D :p

  • maybe my parents would let me make this today. it looks really tasty!!

  • Comment removed

  • IM HUNGRY!

  • "why do I wanna wash two spoons?!" LOOOL

  • I did this, my parents loved it, and yknow what's cooler? I'M 13 :D Thanks for teaching me how to cook :)

  • @MHFailz i bet your parents lied to you because you made the pasta too hard... you are a stupid brat go off the internets shitface and grow a pair

  • @4l4k4z4m4 HOW RUDE UARE??!!!! GET LOST AND GET SOME MANNERS! bet ur getting all rude to @MHFailz cos thats the experience u got, dont worry mhfailz people like these have nothing else to do ..

  • @nikachanO oh im sorry, did i break your concentration? look the internet is a dangerous place for little kids as they may find unapropriate content even here on youtube; by being rude and mean to them i make them leave their computers and make them go out and play with a ball or something.

My rudness comes with the best intentions madam. So i pardon myself and hope that you will not stumble upon one of my kind ever again on the plains of teh interwebz.

  • @4l4k4z4m4 lol, wow but your scaring kids away, OH AND BTWAY IM 15 LOL and i want to learn how to cook. so what age can i start learning how to cook then? at least im using the internet or youtube for good intetntions. rather learn on youtube to save money instead of buying a book which will cost more and especially when im broke and dont want to ask my parents for money. if those were ur intentions , then im sorry, but i think the way u approached the kid was rudeand childish.

  • i am willing to pay $1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 4 you to cook me this

  • Ha! Wait for 5 or 6 years and you won't even get a loaf of bread for that sum!

  • great video man

  • Today I was making a basic Tuna Casserole and felt that I didn't make enough sauce. Since I had ran out of milk and didn't have a can of cream of mushroom soup, I thought that I was shit out of luck ... UNTIL I remembered this little recipe that Chef John made using a creamy tomato soup. I didn't have that, but I had a bottle of organic Tomato Alfredo sauce. So, I threw that in and it ended up being the BEST Tuna Casserole that I have ever made. Thanks Chef John!

  • Can I use regular canned tuna? Because that's all I have in my house right now...

  • How the hell did you win a YEAR's supply of tuna?!?!

  • @MissPenji I thought mixing cheeses was like a sin in Italy.

  • I made this dish and it is INCREDIBLE!

  • "Why do I wanna wash two spoons" :) my kinda cooking haha

  • I am like so dealing hungry right now haha

  • the italian ahchovie MSG joke was hiliarous.

  • Im hungry

  • hhhhhhuuuuuuunnnnnnnnggrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • mmmm.... i love tuna and pasta. favorited! :)

  • why do i want to wash 2 spoons?! RIGHT ONE MAN! :D

  • hey use a micro-plane zester for the cheese. if you don't know what REAL parmasian is then your in luck.

    1. it is usually in a block or wedge.

    2. The wrapping plastic says : Parmisiano Ressiano. (bad spelling)

    3. has a light nutty aroma. (depend on how much its aged)

    Now you know about Parmissian

  • looks good!

  • I don't eat fish but I do eat tuna sometimes but never on it's own. I was wondering if I could make this delicious looking recipe w/o the anchovies paste, what can I use to replace it? x

  • Gosh! You're making me hungry at MIDNIGHT! And i have only a bag of roasted sunflower seeds T_T

Anyway, I love TUNAAAAAAAAAAAAA!(esp when it's on your dishes!) Thanks a lot <3

  • I make this all the time, except I make everything from just about scratch, including my cream of tomato sauce

  • im so hungry now and i have nothing to make something like this so now i have to go eat a can of ravioli's and pretend its this..lol

  • Yummie!! Thanks so much for the recipe!

  • I've made this today with spaghetti! and OH MY GOD! It's soooooooo delicious!

    Thank you Chef

  • Thanks man! - Just made this with normal regular canned Tuna and blitzed fresh Tomatos instead of the soup - Tasty as hell!

  • yum! reminds me of one of my favorite recipes minus the cream, prosciutto, and sun dried tomatoes! Similar taste though

  • If I weren't sick right now, I'd go to the store to buy the ingredients for this. Looks so good.

  • @OiTabemashou You know, first I felt sorry because it's not nice for anyone to be sick, but then I thought - Pasta, Tomato, Tuna, Butter/oil... What in there shouldn't you always always always have in stock, not only in your long term food storage, but always plenty of for ... for anything, really?!

  • @TheRealXesc I'm a college student, so I don't have space for food storage, and since I only cook for myself, I don't buy a lot of food. If I want to cook something special, I have to make a trip to the store.

  • Hello chef john

My name is Shady I am from Egypt

I love all your recipes You're a great cooker

My family is gonna try all your recipes expect the pork haha xD

Anyway I wanna say i tried this recipe And it's AMAZING

Thanks once again for a great recipe.

  • @shadisaad99 2rfa3 rasak foo2 enta masree :D

  • @shadisaad99 just to correct things here cooker refers to a thing we cook in, not a person. The word you are looking for is chef.

  • can i hire u

  • OH MY GOD...drooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • I made this tonight and it was FABULOUS. Thanks again, Chef John. Fresh tuna was not in season here and I could not find the canned tuna, so I used frozen tuna and it worked out very well, surprisingly. I added more water and let the sauce simmer a bit longer to soften the meat. The cheese and tarragon offered a WONDERFUL sweetness to the sauce. It's a delicious sauce Chef John, very creamy and sweet, yet slightly spicy. I'll be making this again! P.S. Give us more recipes with anchovy paste!!!!

  • OK OK OK IDK Y REBECCA BLACK IS THERE... BUT IT MAY BE GIVING A SIGN SAYING THT THIS PASTA IS SO BAD THT REBECCA BLACK POPPED UP... so idk guys!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I made this recipe today. Instead of using anchovy paste I used (wait for it) marmite. Delicious all the same. :-)

  • Why is the stupid Friday song under suggestions for this video? =.=

  • SOMEBODY EXPLAIN TO ME WHY REBECCA BLACK IS ON THE RECOMMENDED VIDEOS SIDEBAR.

  • @muncher541 IKR!!!

  • @muncher541 LOL

  • @muncher541 Because Youtube wants to troll us all :D

  • @muncher541 Maybe chef John recorded this on Friday?

  • @muncher541 i love you

  • @muncher541 to remind us that sat comes after friday

  • @muncher541 because she's tuna.

  • @makeupfirst hahahahaha..

  • @muncher541 because, her cook too bad. and youtube suggest her to watch this video one. :p ueheeheheee.. *kidding*

  • @Annaputribelle lol x x

  • Music corporations moneymilking the living shit out of 12 year olds. My guess.

  • @muncher541 It's ok, we threatened her with Calories in the double digits, and she cheesed it. I can't see any sign of that clod anywhere on my sidebar.

  • @muncher541 because she is related to tuna. but that would be an insult to tunas... :)

  • I added mushrooms and WoW did it turn out good! Thanks for all the work you do Chef John.

  • @almiesaur indeed

  • I dare you to do a grating demo

  • Hi,

    this is an outstanding recipe!!

not to insult anybody but i think you can use freshly grated 'grana padano' as a substitute for

the parmesan cheese (not the same, but close, if you're on a budget, in my opinion)

please try it and you will receive a flavor explosion!

Tuna filets in olive oil, Tomato and Pasta are just...sooo good!!

    Joe from Germany

  • Red Pepper Flake: Forever Alone

  • can i replace the anchovies with some capers?

  • This guy sounds really nice! And my food wish is to eat that pasta... Yum!

  • Chef John you're the best!!

  • Hey. Everyone. Leave LMTR14 alone. He's welcome to his own opinion just like everyone else. The internet is supposed to be the ultimate form of freedom of speech. Let's leave it that way.

  • THUMBS UP FOR GRATING DEMO!!!

  • Chef John makes Tuna Helper!

  • great dish! thumbs up

  • And i'll bet my ass that Chef John could make an oliv cake taste like the motherfkin heaven haha^^

  • And lol @ the comments, Pasta and Tuna Fish is OF COURSE awesome!

Like my brother^^ mimimi i dont want tomatoes in that, mimimi i dont want meat with that...

Eating is also about having fun and trying new things, not only about the biological aspect of saving your life.

    Don't be so picky ;).

  • LOL - I just LOVE how you are 'real' - "Why do I wanna wash two spoons".. Here Here Chef John... Love ya work! This is MOST definately a new mid-week dish in our household here in OZ.

  • This looks so good! I am totally gonna try this out. ;)

  • 4:04 I came.

  • Oh gosh, I'm drooling

  • I love you!

  • Can u do a video on how to make tomato basil soup!!!! :))

  • THANK YOUUU foodwishes i just made it right now!! i think i added too much water tho... my pastas drowning.... O WELL;)

  • My favorite food blogs atm are foodwishes, aussiegriller and cooking with a dog^^

  • @Waldquelle187 there's so many cooking channels out there, but yeah, it's great when you find a decent one.

  • @acmulhern

yeah thats right, but also a lot of crappy ones^^

  • @Waldquelle187 haha, so true. chef john really is something different :)

  • LMTR must be a picky eater, there's always one in the crowd! And Chef John I love you! Your videos have made me branch out of my little culinary box that contained dried chicken and boxed meals! I now make gourmet meals with ease because of your fantastic, funny and easy to follow tutorials!

    My husband thanks you too:-)

  • and here i am eating katchup and pasta and thinking that it is the best thing ever.

  • just cooked this for dinner... this is by far the easiest yet mouthwatering pasta dish recipe that ive ever come across. thank u johnyyy =p

  • no need to explain the flake Chef, we know you have your reasons and we don't question it :D!

  • yummm!! I love pasta, and I have a ton of tuna let in my pantry too, perrrfect ^_^ I cannot wait to try this!! Thank you for your amazing videos, they never fail to make me drool -__-" lol!

  • Yay. Looks good :) I gave up meat for Lent, so I can't wait to try this out :D

  • don't really like tuna with tomatoes, not my dish I guess

  • me encantan las pastas =3

  • @foodwishes I allergic to tuna, but will salmon do as well? Thanks, and keep being awesome.

  • OMNOMNOMNOM

  • This really is a fantastic meal. Many thanks to you for sharing this from London.

  • who the hell disliked this? hope its not my mom who covers in jealousy lol this is awesome I LOVE U CHEF JOHN!

  • I enjoyed that, soo hungry right now, wish i had the supplies for that.

  • How long did it took you to cook this dish (or you may call it, Masterpiece!) ?

  • The whole no cheese with seafood thing has some merit, but in general it's retarded. Maybe if the fish is being showcased and the sauce/preparation is really simply, cheese should be avoided. But this is tuna and tomato, it's just asking for cheese

  • Tuna matches very well with pasta!!and its healthy!!and yummy!!

  • YOU ARE AWESOME!

  • I made it and my family loved it!!!!!

Thanks for giving us another great recipe :))))

  • I always watch foodwishes before dinner to make me hungry. But then when I see my dinner I'm disappointed it's not what I watched on foodwishes. :D

  • Tuna and pasta are matchmake in heaven! Don't just think about tuna and bread...

  • i also put in the oil some onion slices before tuna, and sometimes some black olives and basil

  • you can even put cheese on cheese. cheese is awesome.

  • @LMTR14 LOL you'd be so screwed if you were a Portuguese college student. We survive on tuna & pasta.

  • @almiesaur podes crer meu, these people dodn't even understand the magic of it!

  • @dharafox Haha, I know right? Silly Austrian people.

  • @almiesaur Are you guys ever concerned about mercury intake?

  • @gaphary I don't think we have that kind of concern in Europe. Either way it's not like we eat can after can of tuna, it's just the most popular dish for whoever doesn't know how to cook (which most of college students don't right when they move out of their parents' house. Not the case, though! T'was just a joke.)

  • @almiesaur Yeah it's fine in spread out proportions, but just remember that eating it everyday or even every other day could lead to serious problems.

  • @gaphary Again, I purposely exaggerated when I said "survive on", I don't think anyone eats it everyday. Thanks for the advice though

  • @gaphary No it couldnt. They said the mercury in Tuna would only hurt you if you eat 10+ cans a day. Please stop spreading misinformation, thanks.

  • @onecrazyfrau There is a difference from obtaining mercury poisoning and receiving abnormal disorders or conditions from long term mercury intake. I'm not spreading 'misinformation'; eating tuna everyday, especially for children, can lead to very concerning long term health risks.

  • @almiesaur so do dutch students ._. yay

  • if you can put cheese in salads, then you can put cheese on seafood.

  • @houchi69 lol i agree...i don't like cheese on pasta&tuna but i like sooooo much on seafood risotto!

  • love italian MSG <3

  • I made this the other day, it was fantastic! Looking forward to more pasta recipes!

  • very good!i want to eat!

  • lool 5 p with tuna :) :)
