i got a 97 lxi (mid-range) with a 3.8 ohv... wish i had a limited cuz limited has a VHS entertain system, 3.8 ohc, 6-cd changer, heated seats, and a diffrent desine.
I have a white'98 Town and country LXI with a 3,8 liter and AWD.Love it! Very reliable and rock solid in the snow!that AWD drive really works too! Has a transfer case,rear gearbox and half-shafts to the rear wheels!Love the styling and the room .PLus the tan leather seats are really nice!
I have a 2000 Limited... I like the way the face looks on the 98-99-00 with the 2 round lights low in the front bumper. Pretty tough looking for a minivan. Mine is pretty decked out with all kinds of options. With the Limited, the instruments light up aqua blue at night. The trannys had issues in the mid 90's through early 00's. The a604/41te's just didn't hold up....
@fuzebird Is your transmission acting up? I have over 135,000 miles on mine now. About 4,000 miles ago, the tranny started to bump shift (shift really hard) only in the cold weather, and it would go away when the van warmed up. The dipstick was dark brown and burned smelling. I had a tranny flush and fill with a filter change, and the problem completely went away. It shifts like a new car again. I completely agree with you about the front of the 98-2000's. They're great looking for a minivan!
@fuzebird The 98-00 vans had true class and un-beatable quality! They were really well built and tough feeling. If you just shut the door, you can feel / hear the quality. My van is 13 years old, and is still a fantastic minivan. No different from when I got it, and I mean that. I still have(and love) this van, but I also added a newer Chrysler Town & Country Signature Series in Bright Silver metallic. The 3.8 is very powerful, and the ride is amazing. I'll post a video soon of the new van!
nice i have a gold lxi. 120000 with the 3.8. all leather int. all original. but the trans died last month. ill be buying a new transmission after i finish my turbo caravan project. it still smells new. urs is in great shape too!
