Hi, I know that this was posted earlier this year. I was going to make a video for it. I see you got a lot of responses I'm not sure if you where satisfied or your questions where answered. I would be happy to share with you. Good luck on your health journey.
Every time we eat 3500 calories more than we use/need, we get 1 lb. (gain) Every time we use 3500 more than we need (not all in one day- LOL) we lose a lb.
So many reasons.. I have thyroid cancer and was gaining around 5 pounds a week and went to almost 300 pounds in less that 6 months.. I was slowly dying... My sugar levels were almost 400 at their highest.. 2 days after surgery I was no longer a diabetic.. Also, I have problems with my momentum/belly problems that are very serious and was told to lose the weight or die on the table with that much weight.. my doc wanted me to lose over 100 pounds, and fast.
You are indeed blessed and remarkable. Please never stop telling your story-- it has the power to inspire and motivate many people. I am deeply humbled by your journey and I wish you continuous success.
Thank you, and I got side tracked the other day when I was commenting..lol. I just wanted to let you also know, that I was in a wheel chair and couldn't walk for close to 2 years. Now not only am I able to walk, I can enjoy life now to the fullest. This surgery gave me the confidence to get out of a dead end marriage to someone that didn't respect me. My health is so much better, and with three kids, being able to move and walk freely is a much needed blessing in my life now.
I want to also say that the WLS is NOT for everyone, and should only be considered as a last result. My advice is to attend a seminar on WLS to get fully informed. There is A LOT of information out there. In my experience, I have had a few complications, but over all this surgery has been a blessing in my life. I am sooooooooo happy and thrilled with my life now. It has increased my quality of life 10 fold. Take your time, don't rush into anything, but yes, I would definitely take the....
You seem like an extraordinary kind of woman and I'm grateful that you have shared such personal testimonies with me/ us...I am Not considering weight loss surgery but I just wanted a more inform view on the topic. I am happy you are living the live that you always deserved. AGAIN THANK YOU SO MUCH...
My mother chose GB to save her life ... after years of living in denial and out of control with her weight (a horrible pattern for the women in my family)... She topped the scales @650lbs. Being her sole caregiver ... I watched her eat her life away and suffer daily ...I was happy to support her in going through WLS ... her case was extreme ... and to us and the docs it was her last resort... I thank God everyday that she did it ... b/c ... she's here with me today and at 1/2 that weight ;) ...
That is amazing--I totally understand and this story makes your journey even more meaningful. I am very happy for both you and your mom and your story continues to amaze me. I know your dad would be proud of you.
This is my last hope. I am as healthy as I can be as a morbidly obese person. My chances are better of coming through the surgery now than when I develop diabetes, high blood pressure. I do not have these things now but I will get them. I can not control my eating and I need this God sent tool to help me. Good luck with your choices.
Thank you for sharing and I know you will do great if you continue to be positive. I am very excited to see what all will happen for you to in 08. God bless you
Hey girl,I got the lap band becuz i have lost weight before only like 63 pounds but gained it back and then some and every time i try my hardest to loose weather its diet pills ,no carbs,no meat ,,excersize, all of the above i CANT keep this fatness off: ( There for i turned to Lap band to help me loose and be able to keep loosing and Keep it off Hopefully for the rest of my life: ) hugs girl ♥
WLS is not my only option per se, but the most logical one. Of course I can lose weight, and have been, but I have also lost weight hundreds of times and only to gain it right back. I also need to lose weight more rapidly than I can normally to help with some other health problems I have. I have chosen to get surgery, which mine will be the Lap Band to use as a tool to help me keep it off. Hope that helps.
Thank you sooo much for sharing this with me. I know this will not only educate me but also those with preconceive ideas on the subject. And I totally respect your reasons.
