@PUSSYTICKLER01 Depends on what battery you get, usually the batteries the electric brushless guys run last about 25 to 35 min, And the races last 8 min were im from. i can get a good 3 races off of one charge on my battery.

nothing beats a fuel powered engine. nitro engine sounds better, looks better, feels better, tastes better(exhaust fumes btw) and kicks brushless ass.

@nobudy33 i run brushless,,i dont like nitro,,to messy, stanks,and more expensive. i turned all my nitro cars n trucks to electric. ya cant run nitro up n down the hall at 2 in the morning when ya get done tuning. ive spent more time waitin for my friends to finally get their nitro started than we race. i busted an ae gt2 with a gold pan rc 10 with a 13.5 novak/2s lipo.

@TheAmchornetx Brushless is the best, no question about it. Nitro guys can say all they want, but its less maintenance, Starts right up, cheaper, AND faster. Nitro guys need to get with the times. haha

@nobudy33 exactly,,there was a time, back when i was a kid, nitro kicked but,,but them days is over, a 3 turn with a 2 s will bust about any nitro.

@TheAmchornetx Yes, but the truth is that i'ts just a question of costs. If you would use the latest of combustion engine technologies, the difference would be gone. The BL would accelerate faster, the Nitros would have more power! That's reality. A Lehner i.e. fitted to a 1/8th car could produce about 5.5hp. It's easy to add electric power but for competition the nitros are limited. Just think about a 15ccm OS Speed engine ... BL would be gone in the dust behind.

@StefanR0 i disagree,,i have a direct drive dirt oval, all i need to bump up where a nitro wont touch it is 3s, 4s, maybe even 6s lipo, with a 3.5t bl. nitro doesnt have a chance, i have already had it up around 50mph with a 2s and an 8.5 bl. and thats with the old novak gtb system, why do you think there are so many 1/8 bl conversions coming out,,brushless is the way to go now.

@TheAmchornetx Yes, with a common nitro engine you have no chances but I was talking about theoretical potential of nitro engines. Really, a 15ccm competition car nitro engine would outpower a 8S BL car but then you can turn it around and come back with 10S or more and the nitro guy comes back with 45% nitro fuel (RB). From what is available yet and could be fit into a chassis tha BL are faster, right. But this changes from 1/6th scale on again. BL Bajas are just weak (yet).

@StefanR0 i will agree nitro is quick,,wanna go for a marathon, i can run my bl for near an hour, nitro cant. raising the %age of nitro in fuel, ya start to risk a melt down. i will have to stand by and wait till some one wants to do it, i will always bet on lipo/bl powertrain. the cost alone involved in running a nitro is enough to discourage. have u seen the new tekin bl speedo, with a 13.5, u can program the speedo and make the 13.5 run like a 10.5, imagine a 3.5 with a tekin. no contest.

@StefanR0 dont get me wrong, nitro is awesome too, its like the old Ford vs. Chevy, (Chevy, by the way)lol. im just glad there are people that love this hobby as much as i do. i have been waiting for it to go mainstream since i got into it in the very early 80's, but i think its gone as far as its gonna go. what really amazes me, is how far the technology has come since i got my first buggy. i have owned countless nitro and electric. too xpensive running both, thats y i had to choose.

@TheAmchornetx I would drive a Chevy over a Ford, too (but GT and Supersnake are awesome to be fair hehe). No doubt, BL is faster. I agree. I own some nitros and some BL cars as well. When I take my Xray T3R to a nitro track, I have to DECREASE timing for INCREASE the fun we have with the nitro guys. Some have problems with a 1/10th BL touring car that is almost as fast as a 1/8th nitro fully (expensivly) loaded and a little faster than a nitro touring car. :-)

@StefanR0 them freekin touring cars are wicked, always wanted one but, got too many irons in the fire. ive watched them on here and wow, little rockets. i could see one just xplode if ya zig when u should have zagd and smack the wall. there is a big scale track of charlotte motor speedway in my town and i have seen some cars get destroyed when the have a oops moment. 1 of the was mine. they shut the track down years ago, and wont let nobody use it, which ticks me off.

@StefanR0 byn the time the nitro finally gets wound out, the brushless would be thru the corner blasting down the baqckstretch., then the nitro has to wind back out,,falling more behind.

@TheAmchornetx Or a smart multigear tranny for onroad racing. Possible but MUCH too expensive. In electric powered systems you just have to change 'software and capacitors'. :-)

I assure you when that nitro comes off the track it's AT MINIMUM 280~ & probably needs a new con rod.

Several things factor into which car will be faster but "NO" nitro beats battery runtime (unless you've got a seriously modded tank) & lifespan of a overheated nitro against a overheated brushless... In the end & after taking EVERYTHING into consideration I vote Brushless...
