Everyone complaining about the focus of combat aren't thinking a damn bit. This is marketing, they don't want to show the conversations between leaders won't draw an auidence in to watch the show. They focus on the action in the trailer so that people will watch it when it comes out.

This version, Dong Zhuo too small size. Cao Cao lacks the might look. Kong Ming lacks the witty look. Zhao Yun and Lu Bu looks funny.

I find only Liu Bei, Sun Ce, Zhou Yu, Cao Pi, Sima Yi and Guan Yu still not bad in this version.

Bao Guo An's Cao Cao was anything but mighty. He played up the traditional villain to the nth degree and was almost comical. There was no hero of chaos in that performance.

This actor for Cao Cao is quite famous (he was in most of China's good movies in the 90's, ie. farewell my concubine) and looks really promising.

This version seems to have too much focus on battlefield action and women for Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Understandable given this day and age...

To me, RoTK is about the stratagems and the interactions between people behind the battlefield, who decide the outcome of battles before they begin.

I guess this version is meant to be different from Luo Guanzhong's Romance of the Three Kingdoms as it's simply called "Three Kingdoms".

Omg wtf are they doing? This looks like nothing more than an excuse to use ROTK to make a action TV-Series in the mold of "Red Cliff" with some romance thrown in. I don't think the director of this series has actually read ROTK the novel and is probably basing his entire direction on his experience playing Dynasty Warriors. Absolutely pathetic.

StoneBridge001 you're an idiot too, Romance of the Three Kingdoms is the name of the novel, it's less accurate to change the name you're based off. ALSO it's called that because it's a Romanticism of the Three Kingdoms period, not because it's a romance.

I was skeptical when I heard they were making the movie Red Cliff (Chi Bi) and when I watched it I cringed at how much they butchered everything. I'm now skeptical of this new Romance of the Three Kingdoms and after seeing this trailer I think maybe for my own sanity's sake it might be better if I just stick to the classic one of 1994. There's just something...off about the new shows being produced, something lacking that I find a lot of the older shows possessed.

the 1994 version is not perfect, but i like it. this one, however, seems focusing on fighting too much. the beauty of Three Kindoms is its strategy and brilliant ideas whereas this tv series failed to represent it properly. a bit disappointing~~

The 1994 version is good and accurate, but don't judge the new one negatively when you haven't seen it. They put a lot of action into the trailer to show the improvement from 1994 version, which lacked a lot of action and the fighting/warfare part was poorly filmed. Three Kingdom is about warfare and strategy side by side. 1994 version probably lacked the budget to lavishly present fighting/warfare realistically. The new one show promise of both strategic brilliance and exciting fightings.

I like the name of the new series "Three kingdoms", simple and accurate. The old name "Romance of the three kingdoms" is just a poor translation. There is no romance in it. It's only about the heroes conquering the lands and building up their kingdoms.

还有曹操自己应该说奉天子以令不臣，而不是胁天子以令诸侯

拍摄的过于大众化会引起很多歧义和误解，另外也会给本来就篡改的­面目全非的三国又增添新胡编乱造的故事。

三国题材方面的创作，已经到了应该提倡真实化的时候了，壮诸葛而­近妖的时代已经过去了。

@jojo8113 不过，这剧名“三国”并非“三国演义”。我觉得用三国演义的精彩­情节，并给之三国志里的人物，是一个很好的主意。我觉得新三国中­，比如刘备，就比旧版精彩。鲁肃等也是。我觉得把诸葛亮人性化也­是好主意，只不过演员有些欠佳。总体而言，我很赞同新版的人物刻­画，只是去选“周郎”和“诸葛帅哥”时忘了也需要选会演戏的……­
