  • you solved my problem! congrats!!!

  • Nice vid but some updates went through and from there u must go to the sdk and avd manager to download the android.bat targets.

  • To cd to a folder at the command prompt just type cd and drag the folder to the terminal window and hit return.

  • the console of java perfrences say error then the emulator is fucked , any help ??

  • I keep getting this error when i try starting the device:

emulator: ERROR: no search paths found in this AVD's configuration.

Weird, the AVD's config.ini file is malformed. Try re-creating it.

what can i do? I'm on XP SP3.

  • This was great! I actually wrote a batch file that launches is now so it works great. Thank you very much for helping me get started (that was the hardest part I think). Keep up the good work bud.

  • I dialled 911 but it did not work

  • How to install custom apps on it ?

  • mine doesn't even want to run the setup because it can't fetch packages from the repository

  • My emulator never makes it past the Android splash screen when booting. Any ideas?

  • It helped! Thanks!

  • when i want to "android create -n test -t 2"

it says"Error: target id is not valid. Use 'android.bat list targets' to get the target ids." what should i do now?

  • dude, i actually got stuck at the "Tmoible G1 on black background " screenn after flashing a custom Cyanogen ROM 4.1.99.... i tried everything still stuck...now my last resort to go into my G1 and try to flash something else is this EMULATOR.. thanks a lot for the helppp... remind me again, what is the NUMBER for the G1 phone after "android create avd -n test -t (the number)?? whats the number for the G1 phone ? thanks

  • @xtruma android version 1.1 is the #1 and android 1.5 is the #2.

  • thanks for the response... but didnt hjelp me at all.. actually , my G1 is stuck at the Tmobile G1 reboot screen, i dont have access to it at all... so when i installed the android SDK and the usb driver for it, it detects the device, but then says "it might not work properly"... so i guess i cant fix my problem from the emulator since it doesnt even sync with my G1... F******* !! lol

  • ok sorry I couldn't help... but it sounds like it might be time to take that thing into to get it looked at by somebody.

  • when i try to do it after i type in "android create avd -n name -t" it says "Please set android_stw to point to the folder containing stw.jar for your platform." can you pleas help?

  • @weirdcast2 I really don't know what to tell you. I am definitely not an expert on the topic. However in the command you pasted on here after the "-t" you put nothing. There has to be a number that corresponds to the version of android you want to run as mentioned in the tutorial. This might just be a typo in the comment, but I figured I would point it out. Other than that, all I can suggest is to go to googles site and look around for some information on such.

  • Wont work for me :'(

  • that was very good! helpful in my decision of whether or not to purchase an android phone

  • Just wondering if you could help me with mounting a virtual sd card to the emulator??

    Would be greatly appreciated.... =)

  • yes plz can you do that idk how. what he said how to make the virtual sd card t the emulator

  • YESSSS!!! =D

  • I don't know how to do this... however you should have some luck at googles android developer site site. Just go google for it.

  • Awesome! Saw your post on Lockergnome. Im working on it right now!
