  • shame you had to lose some of these, i would've loved just one - i was looking for either Tina, T10, Tigress or sunbeam when i discovered my BSA Beagle (not a scoot i know, but it keeps me occupied) -only heard of the Roma in the past month along with the Panther Princess and sun wasp, i had no idea there were any classic British modles at all, let alone so many as interesting.

  • @aenglisc I started with just one scooter to restore but over time you get to hear of another interesting project, and so on! The Beagle is interesting, there arent many still around. I might have been tempted myself! If you get a chance to see the colour book I produced. you will see photos of virtually all the Britiish scooters from the 50's and 60's.

  • @ADMIRALSCORNER . it is that, the down side of not being many around is im finding parts and info hard to come by, but the upside is, there doesnt seem to be many wanting parts, so when they are about, you can get them fairly cheep. and thanks for putting me on t the book

  • @aenglisc It can be quite amazing what can be found at autojumbles. At one time I was looking for some sort of silencer I could modify to fit a Triumph T10 tricycle I was restoring.. Only 10 were ever made. I did find something I thought could fit and was amazed to discover no mods were necessary it fitted perfectly!

  • @aenglisc You can get an idea of what the book contains by seeing the video titled CLASSIC SCOOTERS AND MICROCARS.

  • I have been experimenting with some more modern editing equipment recently and have managed to improve the quality of this video. Hopefully an extended and better version titled A CLASSIC SCOOTER COLLECTION (REPROCESSED) will be available to view shortly..

  • @ADMIRALSCORNER That is now available to view!

  • For a closer look at a raleigh Roma see my recent upload CLASSIC MOTOR SCOOTERS!

  • I've just spotted the very scooter I'm trying to identify. It's your little white one in the corner, with the Red saddle and the red bell-like logo and a kind of sawn-off rear end.

    What is that Scooter please?

  • THAT SCOOTER IS A RALEIGH ROMA WHICH WAS A BRITISH MADE VERSION OF THE ITALIAN BIANCHI BEAR CUB. A GREAT LITTLE SCOOTER WHICH PERFORMED WELL FOR ITS 50cc ENGINE.

  • Thanks very much for that. I spotted the name ROMA in your video of riffling through the colour book, and so your information is very useful and of course spot-on correct. I can't think why I never saw these Raleigh Romas around Greater London in 1961 when I was charging around on a Douglas 350 Mk4 which I just recently rebuilt in 2002.

Thanks for helping me identify this little scooter. They're as rare as hen's teeth now it seems.
