feel free is right that the MP5A3s the ASU use are not very effective against body armour, however they do not use Armour Piercing rounds, they use standard FMJ and JHPs.

If the situation where increased fire power is needed, the SDU will be called who can use M4s equiped with AP rounds.

As for body armour, they obviously will use body armour to counter a known threat appropriately if it is necessary, however i doubt theyll need to wear it whilst patrolling the airport, as the chances of an armed suspect being present is slim and that patrolling the airport whilst wearing body armour every day is tiring and inefficient.
