@Rattshewantsmoney You obviously don't know Jimmy Pages notorious history of "borrowing." He and Led Zep wound up paying in the hundreds of thousands of dollars in settlements to the families of a couple of black blues players they took from.
Check out the CD "Led Astray" for a compilation of tunes Zeppelin took from.
BTW, I still am a rabid Zep fan, but I don't deny the truth.
And you are not just a douche, you're a third-hand douche with a reservoir tip.
30 years ago, when I was 5 years i looked under the Christmas tree, and there was a present with my name on it that appeared to be a LP record. The wrapping was too thin so I could see the contours of Ace Frehley's painted face when looking closely at the it. I was so happy, yet ashamed that I had sneak-peeked and knew what I was getting. This was something I had wished for all the year. I was a blood-fan at the age of five. :-D
this song sounds just as good today as it did when it first came out. I think it sounds even better today, because lets face it. most music today really sucks. however though. Anomaly sounds really good. I am not into Sonic boom though. I also wish Kiss would play different songs live. it seems they play almost the same song list every concert. it gets pretty old to me. although I really wish they would get back together for a Kiss alive 75 tour.that was their best album ever.
I had this album when it first came out and learned a lot of the tunes. This was one cool album. Two fav solos are Shock Me and Rocket Ride (from Kiss Alive II).
Ozone, Snowblind & Wiped Out are my faves on this album. My Top 5 fave KISS albums are 1. Destroyer 2. Creatures/ Night 3. Hotter Than Hell 4. Love Gun 5. Revenge Favorite songs Ace vocal : Damn near all of them :) Favorite songs Gene vocal: God Of Thunder, Unholy, Charisma, Under The Rose, Plaster Caster, Calling Dr. Love Favorite songs Paul vocal: Move on, Psycho Circus, Hotter Than Hell Favorite songs Peter vocal: Beth, Strange Ways, Kissin Time I know im forgetting a ton.
he will never match this album in fact destroyer, kiss and love gun and revenge are the only kiss albums in this leauge. in my opinion the five best kiss albums.
In an interview, Ace mentioned all the attention his 1978 solo album is getting---he said he thought it would be cool some day to do a live show with only the songs on the album and put it on a DVD! If he does that, he'll sell lots of DVDs. Everyone who has heard it loves Ace's 1978 album!
Ace's KISS solo album is a rock and roll treasure. I had forgotten what an awesome tune Ozone is, with all the classic Ace flourishes. Like others have mentioned, why hasn't Ace done this live?
sure ace and peter snorted all of paru, and now they are sober. i know, first hand what coke can do to you,and there's was more pure than what i've done,so it really can do evil thangs to you. but this song is one of aces best, and buy ANOMALY-it is very much worth the 20yr wait!!
I was 11 when I purchased the solo albums, now I am 42 wearing suit and tie during the day and am listening to these dirtbags at nights - ROCK AND ROLL ALL OVER !!!
Ace Frehley's solo album from '78 rocked so hard. I'm amazed that so many "classic rock" radio station ignore it, even "New Your Groove," which was a fairly big hit single.
And cocaine, and whatever else Ace could get his hands on. He didn't earn the nickname "Space Ace" from just weed! That's just my guess. Rock on dude!
My friend Ronnie Potter had one of those stereos that looked like a juke box that had lights that moved to the music. we rocked the hell out of this album. uuuhhhhhgg!! let me go back in time even just for a week!! great times and great music. I'm gonna be 40 this year and I never outgrew this stuff.
I was going to write the same thing cmklion till I saw your comment. Really brings back some memories doesn't it? Hard to believe so many years have gone by.
my dad is and always will be a huge kiss fan. i always scoffed at them alot, too. but ace, man... the guy is just way over the rest of them. just a badass boozed up, high as hell rock and roll legend with more than a bit of talent. definitely the best out of all of them and this is certanily my favorite kiss album and i've heard them all.
Additional Notes: I love them all and listen to them each day. "Fractured Mirror" the instrumental is my favorite song easily from Ace. Paul Stanley's "Take Me Away (Together as One)" from that album. Gene Simmon's "Radioactive" from that one and Peter's "You Can't stop the Rain." Overall, Ace Frehley outshines Gene's, Paul's and, especially Peter's albums in musicianship to be my favorite by far.
Paul's album was good, it was just that it wasn't anything special since he was the lead singer of the band and it pretty much sounded like another KISS album. Not a bad thing mind you, just kinda defeats the purpose of doing a solo album. Ace and Peter were the only ones ballsy enough to really do their own thing.
I know that the song "Rock Soldiers" that Ace released during his solo career was inspired by his wreck on the Bronx River Parkway in 1982, and "Shock Me" was inspired from the Lakeland, Florida Concert in December of 1977, but somehow this song seems to add a whole new dimension of character to his near-death experiences. He was in the Ozone somewhere when they happened..
If only Ace had come out of his shell sooner! With this album he really gave Gene and Paul a run for their money! They expected Ace to deliver a crap record but he "shocked" them by recording the best of the four!
In 1978 through the 80's I would play this constantly.
It is still a classic rock album.
Dynasty,Unmasked, both had great Ace songs as well.
I read in an interview that there is a song called ''Rocking with the Boys'' that Ace was supposed to stick on Creatures of the Night''. That was back in 1982.
honestly ace was the best musician in kiss

Wow, Jimmy Page borrowed pretty heavily from that opening on "Over Now" from the Coverdale/Page CD. pretty blatant.

KISS Solo Albums in Order:
1)Ace Frehley
2)Paul Stanley
3)Gene Simmons
4)Peter Criss
Additional Notes: I love them all and listen to them each day. "Fractured Mirror" the instrumental is my favorite song easily from Ace.
