  • Could I fit one of these to a Panasonic DVX 100b?

  • what is the dimensions of gg holder?

  • will be more profitable and stressless to just buy one for $200

  • @dasy1000 selfmade 30mm adapter 50$

    you save 150$ ;)

  • hi nice video, could you make and sell one to me please :)_

  • Hey, I've got a dumb question. I allways see people mounting dof adapters on an hv20 or hv30 (I know why it's a good choice), but is it possible, to make an adapter for any camcoder? Cause I've seen a guy, who claims that he makes adapters even with 30,5mm threads. I know that cameras with such small lenses won't shoot as well, but they're really cheap, and i would definitely like to begin working with such a set just to learn rather then to get great quality videos.

  • Hi Kruno25tf. Do you have a test video for this version?

I would to see the result .. Appreciate all your worked.

  • will this work on canon hg20?

  • Well i tried finidng but i couldnt.....is there any way to attach a fish eye lens to my Sony HDR XR 550e? hoping fr ur reply....thanx and an awesome tut.... :)

  • does the gg-holder have to be copper or can it be iron or some type of sheet metal?

  • To anyone:

Where do I find the bayonet ring for Canon FD to 58mm tubes?

  • wow this is very awesome! what do you think the cost is for all adapters and focus screen? (i will google it but for now im lazy, just woke up) Thanks so much for the info in advance! :)

  • Very Very nice. I have the EnCinema 35 and have problems using it with a Nikon lens. The Canon to Nikon adapters ALL shift left to right when focusing due to the sloppy pin construction. So I purchased a Nikon macro extension tube and am in the process of retrofitting it. Do you think the smaller tube diameter (vs canon) will cause vignetting problems? The Nikon macro tube is ROCK solid. I plan to use an anamorphic lens also extended off the front end. Thanks

  • 1. You're good with AE.

    2. I fuckin dig your Kinetic typography.

    3. I enjoy the depth map-esc DoF on said fuckin cool typography.

    3. I really wana try this even though I already shoot DSLR (all my dslr stuff is on vimeo). XD Such a good tut man!

  • Hi, this is jus wonderful but where can I find the copper board and what is the side of it..

    Thanks..

  • if i used an attachment ring for nikon lenses. would this still work? but with a 35mm nikon lens

  • I checked on ebay and the least expensive Ee-a screen is $24.99 !!!

I am gonna get one but I need to hurry because there is only 2 available...

  • dude i do not have a drill just sitting around and i'm not about to go out and buy one it'll cost more than all the parts combined probably

  • If I purchase a MASSA 30-55mm step-up ring, will I be able to use this on a Sony HDR-CX150?

  • you should start building them and selling..

    like twoneil... ;)

  • please explain the trouble you went to with the copper gg holder and etching etc ..why cant you just use molded plasic for a holder or fiberglass ?

  • $99 jAG

  • What's the point of the toner transfer and etching? just cut a hole to size in something opaque.

  • this is just great!

    really nice! :D

  • Hey there kruno25tf! Thank you so much for this video. I have just finished making my own 35mm DOF Adapter by simply following all your instructions here.

It really works and I'm enjoying it. I appreciate your effort. All the best.

  • If you're interested in seeing what footage looks like using this adapter search ABDavis and look for a short movie called "Open Doors". We used this adapter, a Nkon 50mm lens, a Canon Vixia HG20, and Final Cut Pro.

  • Simply amazing...

I've got everything I need. Just waiting on a piece of copper to come. The etching fluid I can get from Radioshack. Everything else is ready to go. Total cost to build the entire thing? About 50 bucks.

I'd say it's worth it. I already had everything before I saw this video... just needed to figure out how to make my own GG-holder. THANKS!

  • Hi great video if you can help me ttat would be great. will this work i have a extension

tube the same as yours my close up lens is 52mm and my camera is 46mm

    thank you.

  • Hi. I appreciate this video. What is that black paper with the "DOF" text and then on pressed with iron? Is that an ordinary black colored paper? I would appreciate your immediate response.

  • Hi, and YES that is an ordinary black colored paper (A4).

  • Hi. I appreciate this video. What is that black paper with the "DOF" text and then on pressed with iron? Is that an ordinary black colored paper? I would appreciate your immediate response.

  • Hi kruno25tf. I appreciate this video. I have just started assembling my own adapter by following the instructions carefully. By the way, what is that black paper used here? The one with the DOF text and the on pressed by iron? Is that an ordinary paper or something? I would appreciate your immediate response. Thank you.

  • u know you can just us ground glass instead a homemade focus screen

  • all this just to keep from buying a real one

  • Really nice toutorial i have a question though, does it make any difference if i change the step ring to 58-55 step down ring instead of the 43-55? i have a canon vixia hf s10 with a 58mm diameter.

  • thanks

Yes you can use 58-55 step down ring.

  • Very good tutorial. Is it important to put the macro lens at the end?

  • YES

  • HOLY MOTHER OF COMPLICATED! nice

  • Hi everyone. What is a DOF adapter?

    Thank you.

  • That's great man you're genius.. but I'm not talented as you are in assembling.. maybe i just better buy the ENCENIMA 35mm for $199 only

  • ENCENIMA 35mm is not so great adapter everything is to soft and out of focus (no achromat lens?). Mejbi JAG35is better choice 4 you.

  • You are AMAZING !

I just finished mine adapter. Works perfectly.

With Ebay it came out really easy to make. Althought i didnt make gg holder, i tried to make it once from PCB but i failed, so i found ready GG Holders made by Daniel's . The whole adapter was about 150 dolars, the most expensive parts were focusing screen and gg holder. THank you, now maybe you could make a video about : HOw to make 35mm Flip for LCD xD

  • I don't understand the copper plate bit, or the need for it? It was brilliant, but I'm dumb.. why so complicated.. it's just a frame for the screen, no?

  • Pozdrav Kruno, gdje živiš

  • Pozdrav Damire, ja sam ti iz Osjeka...odakle si ti?

  • @damirfx pozdrav, je li znaš di ima u Hr kupit 35 mm adapter možda?

    Hvala

  • This seems a bit more complicated than all the other "how to make a 35mm adapter" videos. I'd there really that much of a diffrence from visual effect and depth of feild?

  • Hi. Great video, it clearly shows how to make the adapter. But i have one question. Will it work only with one set of extension tubes?

  • NO it will work with two set of extension tubes...

  • how come you use the 10x filter, can't you simply shorten the first part?

  • You min 10+ close-up lens ?

  • are you sure that the distance between the lens and the focusing screenshould be 43.6mm?

because in this video: How to build a vibrating 35mm dof adapter in 5easy steps UPD

its said that the distance should be 42.6mm

    so im confused

    thx for answers

  • I use 43,6mm but you can use 42,6mm.

From lens to matt side of the screen focal flange is 44mm (4 Canon EF lenses) ...

  • Great video. How much does this cost? The images you get look great using that adapter.

  • Is possible for 37mm cameras?

  • Adapter works with any DV or HD Video Camera with a front ring size of 30mm to 49mm .

  • ludilo! :D hoću ja jedan takav! :D

    (i want one)

  • Awesome vid! I'm so excited to do this - just one question: where can i get that copper thing?

  • So there's no achromatic lens?

  • is that a normal coupon bond paper you used to print that dof guide?

  • YES

  • hi, all the parts including lenses were about 250$-300$ for me

  • i was just lookin at another diy dof adapter and its got the cpl filter after the close up lens. does it really matter? does it affect the image in some way?

  • CPL filter REMOVE GLASS .

    Just like in video.

  • Great video! How do you know where to position the GG holder within the tube?

  • For the distance holder you can use a piece of pvc-pipe and cut it to your focal flange length .

  • what is the "Focal Flange Length" ?

  • ferric chloride

  • Awesome? What is Feriklori? What is Perchlorure de Fer?

  • Cloruro ferroso

  • WOW that's great. thanks for that man that really helped :-) !!!

  • This is one of the best-quality tutorials with regard to topics DOF adapter
