@IzziReyes Scene is from Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Hal used his ring to capture all the lanterns, guardians and himself inside the ring as protection from Despero and then sent it to Batman.
@toddster119 lol ^_^ he's just moving up in the world. Not ironic enough to be like NPH but all I need to hear is Loren Lester as a Flash ONCE for it to become it.
you know, i read somewhere that the oath really doesn't do anything, it's just there to waste time while they charge their rings, the exact time it takes to do this is how long it takes to say the oath.
@TheComicfan22 Well, we both know he's the best GL of all time. I know there were better wrestlers out there, but what Hart said about himself was a perfect description for Hal Jordan as a Green Lantern.
Which show was this? I read in one place that this was Hal Jordan's oath in particular. But then I've read other Green Lanterns recite the same. So its got to be an official thing. Right?
@SidTucker To an extent, yes. I do know of one alien who says "From lantern's light the gift we give / To spread good's grace to all that live." And before he used Hal Jordan's oath, Alan Scott used to say (at first) "And I shall shed my light over the dark, evil things for they cannot stand the light of the Green Lantern." However Scott's ring is magical and Jordan's is science-based,so I suppose that there are allowable exceptions by the Guardians & the Green Flame of Life.
@SidTucker the show is called batman the brave and the bold.
the thing is this started out as a personal oath of hal jordan, who formed this through a series of battles with particular villains, during the silver age. later, i think after the crisis on infinite earths crossover, this was used a over arching oath for all green lanterns.
the golden age green lantern, alan scott had his own oath.
In brightest day, in blackest night, no hot babe shall escape my site, let those who worship pizzas might, beware their power, GREEN LANTERNS SLIZE???!!!!!
@gururumon916 one cartoon is done in the style of the Golden Age of Comic Books, another is done in the more modern - basis in reality style we see today.
Doesn't Hal Jordan attack the core because he was pissed at the Leaders because he used his ring for self gain, when restoring coast city after mongul and cyborg superman destroyed it, causing him to kill off a lot of the green lanterns except for Ganthet, who returned to earth and gave the rest of his power to Kyle Rayner to fight him, which he, Hal, later became known as parallax?
@XSnipeXBennyX Pretty much yeah, that's what happened. It was later retconed so that Parallax was controlling Hal's thoughts and emotions from with in. Sinestro had met Parallax when he was being held in the Central Power Battery and made a deal with Parlax who was also in the Battery, to destroy Jordan and ruin him. Hope that makes sense XD
@0ACapedCrusader0 Perfect Sense, I'll be getting the story soon, Emerald Twighlight is it? For christmas so I'll be able to enjoy it, Hey do you know what the Graphic Novels following Emerald Twilight when he goes from parallax to spectre? Any help would be appreciated. :)
The Blackest Night falls from the skies. The darkness grows as all light dies. We crave your hearts and your demise. By my black hand, the dead shall rise
@styleGuy08 it's the same voice actor lol...and kansho, racist and right wing are not synonymous, number one. Yes he is right wing, but not racist. Number two, the term is blackest because black is the absence of light. Since the GL mythology is based around light, the absence of such would obviously be evil. It's not just a skin color. Number three, when do they ever change it to darkest besides in Big Bang Theory? Darkest is weak sauce compared to Blackest.
No he is Racist, read the comics, specifically where he's called on it, how he'll save someone with green or blue skin, but not with black skin, look it up.
"racist and right wing are not synonymous" well duh
I've seen it as Darkest numerous times, can't name any off hand though.
@Kansho Right, that was during Green Lantern/Green Arrow during the O'Neil/Adams run. I do read the comics. Do you? Also, the man who said that to him didn't take into account that Hal Jordan saved the world, which has black people on it, dozens of times over. It's a stupid scene.
@Kansho Hey, that was decades ago. Almost all superheroes back in the day did questionable things that wouldn't fly today, like Batman sleeping in the same bed as Robin. Comics are works of art, and as such are subject to their time period. They have retconned these things in modern continuity, so, No, Hal is not racist, he wouldn't be pals with John Stewart if he were, now would he?

That was possibly the lamest green lantern's oath that has ever been uttered.
gururumon916 11 months ago
@gururumon916
actually, its pretty good. i myself used to prefer john stewarts version. however, the oath on both occassions was used for different reasons.
for john stewart it was to re ignite his belief as green lantern, as he was falsely accused of destroying a planet.
for hal jordan it was to use his will and determination to trap and save his fellow lanterns into the ring.
to be honest, the lamest oath is gnort from the same series.
jonno2019 11 months ago

@jonno2019 correction the title of lamest GL oath would be that Duck Dodgers spoofing of it
bladevstwilight1 11 months ago
@jonno2019 With John Stewart's oath you can just feel the emotion, and it just sounds like it really means something.
While with this one it just sounds really corny and phoned in, especially the way he annunciated the light.
