hating on so hard: "Brostep". I certainly DO NOT associate myself with that "Bro" crowd. The shows here in America are shite, and my life wish is to see a show at Fabric. Yet I don't understand all the connotations that are being attached to a genre which will never do anything more but progress because there is no possible way to ever run out of new ways to make sound. Maybe this is all complete blasphemy to many "Purists" out there, but I like to respect music in all forms and ignore
is common human instinct to keep exploring something further, and when it comes to ELectronic music, which is when looked at as simply as possible, is all about manipulating air to make the sounds that we hear in our head. Which is why I enjoy "Brostep" as well. Someone thought it up, and someone knew Ableton, Logic, Reason, or whatever DAW well enough to program those abstract sounds they heard in their head, and then add what everyone on this page loves most, bass, and we have what everyone's
I honestly don't understand why there has to be so much bickering over something so pointless as a title to types of music. Personally, I absolutely love both. I love listening to Coki, Caspa, Digital Mystikz, Hatcha, etc. for the simplicity and purity of the bass, but at the same time, I love listening to "Brostep" because I love hearing how far the manipulation of sound can go. This argument about American "ruining" dubstep is absolute shite. If you want something to blame, blame DAW's. It
toiletstep is for bros, BRUH. Come on BRUH, SKRILLEX, BRUH! Doctor P, BRUH! Cookiemonsta, BRUH! DatsiK BRUH! Let's fistpump and hug BRUH, we'll look totally cool and score some pussy BRUH. Cuz we definitely know what dubstep is all about: a very fucking dirty drop which actually isn't a drop because there IS NO FUCKING BASS to begin with! It's okay to make and listen to brostep just as long as you don't call it dubstep and ruin the genre's reputation. THANK YOU!
i feel like what happened with dubstep was like the same thing that happened with techno except the roles are reversed. techno started in america and when it went over seas it became euro trash and trance. dubstep started in the uk and when it came to america it became brostep. for both somehow the soul was lost in the process.
@crayonsRSIcK Oh, never realized the "old" dubstep vanished at some point. Gotta ask the guys at Deep Medi, Tectonic, Wheel&Deal, Chestplate, Blackbox/Boxclever n DMZ when that happend.
@iBdan97 Dubstep was originated from dub, reggea and 2step/bassline which had big rolling basslines and a nice flow
brostep was invented by failed rock artists and is all mid range shit and has no deep basslines or good drums but has become popular somehow, which makes them sell-outs. people like me get annoyed with this as it means not as many good dubstep producers are getting recognised and cant breakthrough due to skrillex, doctor p etc
like okay. i like both, depends how im feeling. the dark stripped down shit in rave out rave is killer. but the term brostep is stupid agreed lol. but there so much difference between the too it kinda should have a different name, cos from mala to skrillex as the same genre is bit silly really. but i dunno end of the day its just bass driven music

Does it matter? Filthy music is fucking legit bro, electro dub, DRUM AND BASSS, what the fuck does it matter. In the end I want my fuckin face melted off.
Brostep makes Dubstep seem like an childish genre for douchebags who think they are cool. But Dubstep is not about being cool, it's all about the atmosphere and sound. Im talking about the classic Dubstep, the real Dubstep we all loved..
its not just obnoxiously loud bass lines, people like to hear a beat progress and build up until it finally bursts, when the bass drop hits hard enough its magical. "brostep" seems more intricate and less repetitive than traditional dubstep to me

@WORLDARYANREVIVAL Americans are racist. The civil rights bill was only passed around 50 years ago, and up till then Blacks and whites were forced by law to be separate. America was also the soul country involved in slavery. Why would you ever be proud to be American
@RootDubz93 Hahahah. You might be the single most ignorant person I've seen posting on YouTube in a looooooooong long long time. "America was also the soul country involved in slavery." I'm dumbfounded by how you could even type such a statement and think you're even remotely correct. Not only is it "sole" not "soul", but slavery has been prevalent throughout human history, starting in ancient Sumer and going all the way up to the U.S. in recent times. Do your homework, shit-for-brains.
@eersFTW All I'm saying is America seem to pride itself on its ability to 'liberate', when in fact it was indeed the main country involved in slavery and was the only country where segregation was a necessity. Apart from my opinion of Americans, nothing I said in the previous comment was untrue.
@RootDubz93 if you want to go that route than I might as well mention your country is responsible for the whole goddamned british empire and all the atrocities it committed. that being said, this is a video about music, which everyone can enjoy. fuck provinciality
@RootDubz93 if you want to go that route than I might as well mention your country is responsible for the whole goddamned british empire and all the atrocities it committed. that being said, this is a video about music, which everyone can enjoy. fuck being provincial
@morganjohnston yes man definately. big up bristol. i feel sorry for the old skool heads that are getting no way as much recognition as they should. theyre pioneers.
@morganjohnston as an american myself i agree...but it'd be impossible...purely impossible to keep something with as much potential as dubstep "underground". It'd become international somehow, someway.
at the end of the day if people like it and can dance to it who gives a fuck what litle fucking sub-genre name its given. personally i like both styles, why limit your mind by just listening to one style of music?
i think everyone in the uk is hating on the us and canada because dubstep is gettin big over here and now we have producers that are fuckin insane like skrillex, datsik, excision, and downlink. i dont see how you can say you like dubstep and not like some brostep that just makes you wanna go absolutely bat shit crazy
Rusko is dope but hes an Idiot and mad that people have figured out how to make cooler sounding synths than his its called dubstep for a reason Everyones heard loud bass for years of course people are gonna bestoked on heavy bass synths its called progression people still do make really melodic music and filthy dodge and fuski are the perfect example of that
One of the producers that i fuckin hate is Borgore. Profiting off of people hating him and promoting "ruining dubstep". Way to support the genre you claim to make...
I'm glad Rusko's gonna be doing "more melodic" stuff. Maybe it'll stear some of the bros away from the genre and get it to a place of maturity. It's sad, really, that that sort of audience was attracted to dubstep because of the effect they have on, well, anything they fuckin touch. I like the sound of dubstep. I like the sound of brostep. I like the fans of dubstep. I HATE the douschbag fans of brostep. Oh well, i like what i like whether the idiot bros like it or not.
And their go the dubstep purists dividing their own genre again. Usually the first to complain about it and usually the first to incite it. Lets face it weather you love the deeper dubstep or the filthier dubstep it could be a lot worse we could all end up listening to modestep.
thank the cats bollox that the man who turned dubstep into some screechy crap has seen the error of his ways
for fuck sake please bring the older stuff back into the spotlight to show people that dubstep isn't someone just trying to make the dirtiest song that they can think of and bring it back to old dubstep
I'm so glad I can enjoy both. If i'm at a party, bring on the 'brostep'! At home I'll listen to some deeper sounds. Excision, Datsik, Flux, they are all great producers. And producers that say otherwise are jealous they don't get the attention.
Erm, does it really matter whether it's dubstep, brostep, drumstep, whatever-the-fuckstep, etc.? If it's good and you like the song, why should anyone give a shit about the genre?
@overdoze100 Im a Joke because I dont like Hyperdub??? I like Brockin' out 2 Mad beats wit Chicks, U Obviously like Dingy Ketamine based Cockfests, Gud 4 U
ive been listenin to dubstep since 2005 and there is nothing wrong with mid range wobble as long as its controlled, the riddims are there to give you energy ... but when you get crazy tunes that just go over the top that is what i despise and call brostep, most people externally when they think of dubstep think thats is just dirty warp, but its alot more then that its cleverly structured music! DUBSTEP IS BASS ORIENTATED MUSIC KEEP IT THAT WAY!
@SeekaDubstep there's lots of awesome bass oriented music around mate. time to let dubstep go. it's not fresh, it's not innovative, it's as dead as it gets and everyone who's producing truly amazing stuff moved on a long time ago.
you can still listen to and appreciate a dead genre but the whole point of EDM is that it's disposable. it's supposed to be new and exciting and fresh and dubstep is neither.
@SeekaDubstep whatever im not goint to tell you what to do. but when it reaches the point that you have to say "DUBSTEP IS BASS ORIENTATED MUSIC KEEP IT THAT WAY!" it should be pretty obvious that dubstep is done for.
I appreciate how Rusko agrees that Brostep was somewhat his fault, how he's starting to hate it, and that Dubstep isn't about that. Makes me respect the artist more.
lol dubstep is boring, brostep ruined deubstep. brostep runs the scene nowadays with fidget.

DUBSTEP HISTORY:
OLD dubstep was going on which was really underground.
NEW kind of dubstep came, which became popular
OLD dubstep fans hated it so they called NEW dubstep Brostep.
KIDS like me think brostep is called dubstep (lol)
NOW theres like tension going on between these two subgenres?
is that what happened to dubstep? correct me if im wrong.

Not only is it "sole" not "soul", but slavery has been prevalent throughout human history, starting in ancient Sumer and going all the way up to the U.S. in recent times. Do your homework, shit-for-brains.
eersFTW 9 months ago
@eersFTW All I'm saying is America seem to pride itself on its ability to 'liberate', when in fact it was indeed the main country involved in slavery and was the only country where segregation was a necessity. Apart from my opinion of Americans, nothing I said in the previous comment was untrue.

@RootDubz93 if you want to go that route than I might as well mention your country is responsible for the whole goddamned british empire and all the atrocities it committed. that being said, this is a video about music, which everyone can enjoy. fuck provinciality

@morganjohnston yes man definately. big up bristol. i feel sorry for the old skool heads that are getting no way as much recognition as they should. theyre pioneers.
MistaMase102 7 months ago
@morganjohnston as an american myself i agree...but it'd be impossible...purely impossible to keep something with as much potential as dubstep "underground". It'd become international somehow, someway.

@YGranddaddy yeah its abit of a shame but new genre's will evolve from it

i think everyone in the uk is hating on the us and canada because dubstep is gettin big over here and now we have producers that are fuckin insane like skrillex, datsik, excision, and downlink. i dont see how you can say you like dubstep and not like some brostep that just makes you wanna go absolutely bat shit crazy
austin62894 11 months ago
Rusko is dope but hes an Idiot and mad that people have figured out how to make cooler sounding synths than his its called dubstep for a reason Everyones heard loud bass for years of course people are gonna bestoked on heavy bass synths its called progression people still do make really melodic music and filthy dodge and fuski are the perfect example of that
eazup7 11 months ago

Anyone looking for more soulful and melodic musical dubstep...mind if I drop this here? youtube.com/watch?v=qIo8fuG7sAE
DJAnthologic 1 year ago
One of the producers that i fuckin hate is Borgore. Profiting off of people hating him and promoting "ruining dubstep". Way to support the genre you claim to make...
AppleMustHateMe 1 year ago 2
I'm glad Rusko's gonna be doing "more melodic" stuff. Maybe it'll stear some of the bros away from the genre and get it to a place of maturity. It's sad, really, that that sort of audience was attracted to dubstep because of the effect they have on, well, anything they fuckin touch. I like the sound of dubstep. I like the sound of brostep. I like the fans of dubstep. I HATE the douschbag fans of brostep. Oh well, i like what i like whether the idiot bros like it or not.

he mentioned excision, datsik, funtcase, and flux
flux is ok, excision and datsik suck, funtcase is alright

And their go the dubstep purists dividing their own genre again. Usually the first to complain about it and usually the first to incite it. Lets face it weather you love the deeper dubstep or the filthier dubstep it could be a lot worse we could all end up listening to modestep.

thank the cats bollox that the man who turned dubstep into some screechy crap has seen the error of his ways
for fuck sake please bring the older stuff back into the spotlight to show people that dubstep isn't someone just trying to make the dirtiest song that they can think of and bring it back to old dubstep
MultiFlipswitch 1 year ago
I'm so glad I can enjoy both. If i'm at a party, bring on the 'brostep'! At home I'll listen to some deeper sounds. Excision, Datsik, Flux, they are all great producers. And producers that say otherwise are jealous they don't get the attention.

If you like filthy shit. Listen to filthy shit. If not. Than don't.
EpicStuffForEvarz 1 year ago
Erm, does it really matter whether it's dubstep, brostep, drumstep, whatever-the-fuckstep, etc.? If it's good and you like the song, why should anyone give a shit about the genre?

Rusko is the only "brostep" producer that I enjoy. The rest can suck it. Long live the bassweight.
CollosusXC 1 year ago 3
ive been listenin to dubstep since 2005 and there is nothing wrong with mid range wobble as long as its controlled, the riddims are there to give you energy ... but when you get crazy tunes that just go over the top that is what i despise and call brostep, most people externally when they think of dubstep think thats is just dirty warp, but its alot more then that its cleverly structured music! DUBSTEP IS BASS ORIENTATED MUSIC KEEP IT THAT WAY!
SeekaDubstep 1 year ago 2
@SeekaDubstep there's lots of awesome bass oriented music around mate. time to let dubstep go. it's not fresh, it's not innovative, it's as dead as it gets and everyone who's producing truly amazing stuff moved on a long time ago.
you can still listen to and appreciate a dead genre but the whole point of EDM is that it's disposable. it's supposed to be new and exciting and fresh and dubstep is neither.
schizoidchimp 1 year ago
@schizoidchimp believe me i know that it aint as underground as before ... but it is fresh ... the music that IS GOING AROULD IS Alot , im not bored?
SeekaDubstep 1 year ago
@SeekaDubstep whatever im not goint to tell you what to do. but when it reaches the point that you have to say "DUBSTEP IS BASS ORIENTATED MUSIC KEEP IT THAT WAY!" it should be pretty obvious that dubstep is done for.
