This is a well done, bold and creative series but still ultimately a fail. Take all that initiative and creativity and make something original. Battlestar Galactica was already a classic without anything fancy. Instead they had to try and get cute with everything and change it all up. I'll never understand how unoriginal we all have become. It's sad.

i loved the episodes, it's not only about fight and survive, u also hear alot of discussion about god/gods, religion, spirituality. you barely hear about this in sci-fi movies, only epic battles, blood, brutality etc.
I loved this series I just hated Starbuck as a character I never cheered for the death of a main character as I did her. Even the evil self centered Baltar was at least believable.

@Battle5tarRJC Me neither, i'm not a big fan of the stargate franchise , the film was very cool but the series that followed was a total let down. Had no grit to it what so ever. it was just a 'feel good family show' and you couldn't take it seriously. BUT.. if you watch the latest series 'Star Gate UNIVERSE' it is nothing like the previous incarnations. Its much darker , emotional and you can really get a feel for the characters plight. The story is so much more sophisticated & clever now. :)
I watched the first episode of Caprica, and then did some research on it and found out it was a prequel to Battlestar Galactica. I'm gonna watch BSG before Caprica on Netflix now =D
Whats so AWESOME about this show from a character point of view (im only on the first season but) is that in each episode that follows, the characters all look progressively more and more fucked up... They all have scrapes, bruises, deep purple bags under their eyes from being up for 5 days straight... We all have emotional attachments to characters who seem real. Not enough shows do this I find. BSG takes all this realism into account in a high tech sci-fi... sheer genius :D

@routhoula It has some violence in, but nothing than makes you consciously think about it being unnecessary. There is torture, the blood isn't excessive at all, there's a lot of shooting people, but no big focus on things like OMG BULLETS BULLETS BULLETS. If you consider explosions violent, then yeah it's violent, because the space battles between basestars and the galactica are magnificently explosive on occasions. It's not considered violent really.
When Battlestar Galactica first aired on TV I instantly knew this show would be different from others. It had beautiful character development along with spectacular action scenes. BSG touches on many subjects and does it wonderfully. To me BSG is soo much more then a TV show. This is entertainment at its best.
i know the 12 colonies are located in a distant galaxy. what are they're relationship with earth? is there communication between the two? does earth even know what cylons are? did the war affect earth?

earth is just a myth to them, a legend they refer to as the 13th colony, its pretty cool as it implys humans on earth came from space wich is a comon theory, and one i believe myself,
@mr10am the 12 colonies werent in a distant galaxy because if they were they woudnt survive the space in between galaxys because they would run out of food and water they were actaully on one of the other arms of the milky way (our galaxy) and even then it took them 4 and a half years to get to earth

@monstanator Yes, there is a 3-hour Miniseries that precedes the start of Season 1. However, if you have the DVDs, the Miniseries should be on Disc 1 of the Season 1 Set.

The pilot of the series is one of the most captivating movies i have ever seen! As for the show....i miss it so much...I miss the cast with their larger than life acting.I miss the epic and at the same time touching soundtrack. I miss the story which was far from mainstream and cliches..This series made me THINK and DOUBT ideas and beliefs i was certain they were fixed in my mind....It had its flaws but what the frak! i know the 12 colonies are located in a distant galaxy. what are they're relationship with earth? is there communication between the two? does earth even know what cylons are? did the war affect earth?

@mr10am the 12 colonies werent in a distant galaxy because if they were they woudnt survive the space in between galaxys because they would run out of food and water they were actaully on one of the other arms of the milky way (our galaxy) and even then it took them 4 and a half years to get to earth

Would Matt Damon work as Flight Lieutenant Starbuck of Blue Squadron of the Flying Fortress, The Colonial Battlestar Galactica in a Remake of the Original Version of Galactica ? Starbuck was like Horatio Hornblower of the Galactica Universe. His Level of Skill and Ability and Rule Obeying was Second to None.
Kenneth Branagh would work as the Traitor Count Baltar who Defies the Laws of God and Sees to the Destruction of the Entire Human Race for Profit and Greed.

@monstanator Yes, there is a 3-hour Miniseries that precedes the start of Season 1. However, if you have the DVDs, the Miniseries should be on Disc 1 of the Season 1 Set.

What I like about this series is that it had me rooting for the cylons at a lot of points. It really showed how flawed humanity is.

The pilot of the series is one of the most captivating movies i have ever seen! As for the show....i miss it so much...I miss the cast with their larger than life acting.I miss the epic and at the same time touching soundtrack. I miss the story which was far from mainstream and cliches..This series made me THINK and DOUBT ideas and beliefs i was certain they were fixed in my mind....It had its flaws but what the frak! It made me BELIEVE that the characters and their world is could be real!!

See I always wanted to take the old "And they have a plan" Opening. And add on a "To sell Ice Cream at knock down prices to the whole Galaxy" (complete with Ice Cream van music and cylons serving 99 flakes) or something equally silly...Luckily for the world, you're the one who got the skill for Videos, not me ;)

You know, I have seen a lot of BSG videos which were basically 'BS', you know?
Those horrible fan-made 'music video's with shitty musics that doesn't even match BSG's atmosphere and all...
But here you are, presenting us a definitely legit trailer video which would be perfect to show to someone in order to convince that someone to watch BSG. Your editing, and choice of music and scenes, were very good indeed!
