Hi Erica,

Welcome back.

Very polished presentation. Loved the tree in the background, and it fit for the theme of this song (but I am sure you know that as you chose to do it).

Vocally you were spot on - no pitch, or timing issues etc. And I loved your interpretation. That being said I do want you to give us more moments like 3:24 - 3:33 (im demanding sometimes I know).

You set the bar - great work

Wow what a treat to have you and Charlie back! Feels weird to be judging you! FIrst of all, technical this isn't a "legal" entry, because even though I'm sure you used the same take from before and after the interlude there's no way to be sure - your performance needs to be a continuous take with no cuts (or cutaways). You'll have to see if Cree will allow it since it's so early on. But your performance was stellar - only thing I was missing for me was a "wow" moment. Loved it!

Honestly, I thought it would be acceptable since in past seasons I have seen simular editing done, but if it isnt I can respect and support the decision of the IS crew. I know the last thing anyone wants is unneeded complaints or drama.

@ericaroane the difference between what you did and what you've probably seen is that the singer needs to be consistently visible the whole time (even if faint). You can't really do that with MovieMaker, but you could with other software. Once you do a split it's a cut and that's not gonna be allowed. Like Cree said, it's ok for the audition but down the road we won't be able to make exceptions.

@jwipe I guess I just assumed as long as I was in video view while I was singing it would be ok, & not a matter of how I edited the video. I was just trying to spare everyone from watching my head bobble around in the instrumental and thought it would make for a more pleasurable viewing experience~ Anyway I know now so no worries~

@jwipe CONT: I can assure you that my song was taken all in one shot though. I have added a link in the description box to a tut video I made on the editing process I used to make this video, the only difference is I used a short video clip of my christmas tree instead of pictures.

@ericaroane actually now that I'm in the "judge's" seat I feel I can offer some advice on that. In many of your videos I see you going for a wow way too early - you often hit it right off the bat and it's sometimes jarring. I was fully expecting that here but you didn't do it. I think if you generally hold back early on and let it fly later in the song that will give you the wow we all love :)
