@hunterhearsthelmsy grab an MP3 of the song, play it on your PC on Windows Media Player then go to enhancements then Play Speed, you will be able to alter the speed without changing the pitch and you will be able to excersice your ear while figuring out the guitar parts note for note, not only that you will be able to detect all the nuances of the performance and then try to replicate them, developing your technique. Slow and steady wins the race ;)
wow! thats fantastic! could you please do a video lesson of the whole song with the solo and harmony, that would be much appreciated by everyone! thanks! :)
Amazing man, you're a machine! I lost interest in Metallica after the older stuff, but after seeing this it makes me interested again haha. Great job.
When I first started, I couldn't even function without tabs. But once you dedicate yourself to learning where notes and techniques are on the guitar, it becomes easier and easier to work the song out in your head and translate that to your hands. Francisco is just at a very advanced stage where he can do it quicker than most. But he also writes tons of original material. I bet he also played 8 to 10 hours a day for years to get this good. Some of you probably play half hour a day. Dedication!
@xxjohnnyxx89 you can learn anything by ear, some people have more of a natural ear for music than others but I believe with time, dedication and practice it is possible to develop it. I explained below in my response to DamageIncorperated86 how is it that I am able to work out these songs by ear, good luck
@franciscomeza11 Thank you, I will try that. I ocationally am able to pick up riffs, so hoprefully it wont take me that long to really get it down. Thanks again, man.
@cpamiseso same here man, I have had to replace screws here and there, I take my guitar regularly for setup at least once a year, you have to if you live in Canada like I do. I simply wipe it after every use, sweat is very corrosive and just wiping it helps it last longer
@DamageIncorperated86 it will take time, first try not using tabs, make an mp3 file, go on Windows Media Player, go to enhancements, then play speed, reduce the speed of the track, then simply listen note by note, a few notes at a time only, find them by ear on the guitar, not only it will help you find the notes but you will hear all the nuances of the performance helping you improve on technique as well. In time you will be able to play faster and more accurate and say goodbye to tabs
@franciscomeza11 Sometimes people are born with the ability to swiftly make music by ear. I am one of those people (I'm told) and so is francisco up there. It is very hard to "learn" to make music by ear.
Sorry my friend but the guy on the right is way way better, plus the left dude still owe's my aunt $30, Awesome job, great vid ty for sharing! Metallica 4 life!!
Well done Francisco, I can't believe how quickly you learn these songs. It's a lesson to all aspiring guitarists to throw away the tab and use your ears
Kick-ass job, man! I like the song, though I don't know if it would've fit amongst the final DM album tracks.......would've been a great opening track on the next album.
can u give any tips on getting song just by hearing? , i am trying it these days, i had some sucess , but still it would be good to get some tips.
