Thats Not Entirely true that clip. The parents usually abandon the baby ones after they've fed them loads and not taught them anything. somthing like 91% of baby puffins die straight away from starvation.

Typically in nature if parents produce many offspring quite a few of them will die due to the lack of handed down knowledge and life skills but because of the large quantities many will still survive purely because they are produced en masse. And the opposite happens with parents that produce only a few offspring, the parents have more resources to nurture their single or couple of offspring and it is essential to the survival of their species that they do.

The Internet is a terrific window to the world. I thoroughly enjoyed watching and learning about the colorful puffin. I feel no need to travel to Maine to see the puffin in person because the video left me feeling as if I'd just patted the puffin. The Internet is eliminating costly travel because the Internet Highway does not require gasoline thereby reducing the greenhouse effect and, ultimately, saving the planet. More puffins, please.
