  • Can you give me this please?

  • love the sound but i dont know to play that shit

  • how does this compare to software synthesized pianos e.g. Pianoteq/ Kontakt?

  • Isn't it overpriced? All the eletric pianos are great, I like especially all the electric grand and the rodes. The classic melotron flutes (Beatles) and voices (Jarre) are cool, but the other Melotron samples sound like a bad Roland Sound Canvas in this video. Some people say that the acoustic pianos aren't good. Is it true?

  • @fabiovsroque Take a look at clavia's website, they've got plenty of samples that are available for free that you can download to the Electro 3/HP, Stage 2 etcetera, with previews so you can listen. There are some really heavy piano samples that are amazing and very authentic.

  • 0:42 Rosessss yeaaah !!!

  • M3000 HD mellotron on iPad sounds better in my opinion. I just can't choose between the KORG SV-1 which has a great scala of rhodes sounds, but electro 3 wins on organs and clavinet.

  • Sorry, I meant for me.

  • When you think about it, that's a lot of factor settings. I mean, mine only has like 10, so this is like the bomb of bombs or me. Good demo though. I'll give him credit for that.

  • piano sounds n the nords are definitely better than others...

  • exactly what i wanted to see. well done nice work. every sound and setting.

the piano sound compared to other digital pianos is not quite good but this is a very good keyboard generally.

  • As an owner of the electro 3 61, I'd have to say it is the best keyboard out over all. This demo doesn't do it very much justice because these are the worst sounds the nord has to offer. They put these sounds on the keyboard as factory settings because they're small in memory and they take up less space. The nord website has sounds that are 10 times better available as free downloads. The pianos aren't as nice as Yamaha but every other sound is killing (or equivalent to) all the other keyboards.

  • Spell Baritone right :D

    Good demo though :)

  • Is this the 88key version?

  • Comment removed

  • BEVERLY HILLS COP!!!! :D

  • Does this keyboard have weighted keys? I'm thinking about trading in my motif xs8 for one of these. I don't really need the motif for the work station stuff as much as I thought I would because I'm mainly using midi stuff now when I record, but I'm drawn to these because they have such great organ sounds. Anyone have any thoughts/opinions for me? I mainly use the motif for touring/performing and it is a pain the ass to move. Any responses would be appreciated!

  • @chrisacopland the electro is very light (the 73 key version is about 9kg and the 61 is lighter) but this means it doesn't have weighted keys. it's got keys that are similar to a hammond organ, springy waterfall keys, not lipped piano keys.

  • Caroline!

  • what song is that when u are playing french harpsichord

  • @neojunhao Seriously? Beethoven's Fur Elise.

  • @RaygunShaun ya i really dont know i know the song but not the name thats why i ask so thanks

  • What song are you playing on the rain piano

  • @dzlvs8 Roses by Outkast

  • I so sick of hearing people play Angela as the rhodes demo. theres about a thousand better songs to us by comparison.

  • @tyleryesta1 Big problem for you is it? of great annoyance? Why didn't you just say thats Bob James "Angela". Thats all you really wanted to say anyway but you had to hide your boast inside a complaint.

  • Hey Mathaeus, Is there a huge difference between the Electro 2 and the 3? are u on a 76 here? thanks!!

  • I thing yamaha motif xf has better sounds

  • Comment removed

  • Send me a CD

  • 0:50.......fail

  • okay, I don't know if I'm loving the INSTRUMENT or the awesome guy playing it. You've got some mad skills! : )

  • are the keys fully weighted on this one?

  • @tyleryesta1

You can find all these answers on nordkeyboards website

  • haha they all sound great..but with the clav sounds your superstition rhythm is completely wrong

  • Can you change the attack directly from the nord electro or do you need to use software?

  • hopw does the keyboard feel? is it close to the piano feel? thanx :)

  • 0:08-0:20 Sounds Like a genuine piano

    0:42-Good Upright

The Rhodes tones sounds like an Electric Piano out of A Conway Twitty Song

The Wurlitzer Sounds Like something out of Supertramp

The Clavinet Sounds Like something out of a Stevie Wonder song

The Violins and the 16 Violins M400 tone from the Mellotron bank sounds like something from an epic progressive rock song

The Flute tone from the Mellotron banks ounds like something fresh from the psychedelic rock era.

  • roses was super cool

  • the string quartet sounds excellent (As do all the piano/ep/mellotron sounds, but it's hard to come by a good strings patch)

  • This piano looks good and sounds good..

  • ogni strumento va suonato secondo lo stile dello strumento stesso. Non puoi suonare un ocarina come se fosse un pianoforte! No good!

  • Nord продаётся на

    gibsons.ru

    Можно скачать там много интересного

  • how's the action on this one?

  • I thought it was just piano Nord, Rhods, Clavia and bodies...

can someone clarify this for me?

  • @HallitonMusic it has Pianos, organs + the entire mellotron sample library.

  • you have two nice keyboards and get you don't have a clue how to play other than the couple of sloppy songs you picked up out of trying to justify owning them and putting up a youtube video for attention

  • @dylansmale you retard, you do realise this is a SOUND DEMO! not a video showing his playing ability!

  • Love it how you really struggle with an easy piece of Bach. While being a really great keyboardist.

  • i think out of all the nords the wave, electro, lead... the electro 3 is my fav

  • Nice sound demoing but if I may say one thing? You should go for a different approach on different sounds. Meaning demoing the the sound in a more usable way. For example the bluesy licks work on a rhodes but not that well on the strings section etc.

But still like I said, it was nice to hear all the sounds from the Nord 3.

  • Great playing sir.. but question for the play impaired ( i think this is the word lol) does it have a transpose function so I could play a song on c and it would come out as F if I needed once I would know how to play the song on C and the singer on F I hope you understand what I mean. please let me know.. I really depend on that to buy me one of this awesome boards.

  • @jomarcavalcanti as with most every (if not all) electronic keyboards, you can transpose it to any key you would like.

  • hm..the strings are crap...but the pianosounds are cool

  • the strings are from a mellotron, so they aren't really supposed to sound any more "real" than a hammond is supposed to sound just like a pipe organ , follow me?

  • what riff are you playing at 2:08?

  • @lwk38w

    superstition by stevie wonder

  • that'd be superstition by Mr. Stevie Wonder

  • thanks for sharing!

  • awesome. when did this key board come out?

  • pritty good i thought this was electro but it still really good

  • Is it just me or is the mellotron a little off? Not a big fan of what I heard here...maybe I am just missing it...The M-Tron sounds alot better though as of now.

  • The problem is, he isn't playing the patches like a real mellotron. Keep in mind the limited range of real mellotrons.

  • This thing should be renamed "The ELO Machine."

  • hows the action? are they weighted?

  • hey, are the sounds built right in? how many plug ins are their? is it just power, pedal, and input? thank you.

  • 2 Audio outputs L & R - ¼", 6,35 mm jacks, unbalanced

    1 Monitor input - 1/8", 3,5 mm stereo jack

    1 Headphone output - ¼", 6,35 mm stereo jack

1 Control pedal input - ¼", 6,35 mm TRS stereo jack.

    1 Sustain pedal input - ¼", 6,35 mm jack.

1 Rotary Speaker speed switch pedal input - ¼", 6,35 mm jack. Use a momentary pedal or a switch type pedal

MIDI In, MIDI Out - 5 pin DIN connectors

    USB - type B connector

    IEC320 C7 power connector

  • I wish it had better acoustic piano sounds.

  • What keyboard would you recommend for better sounds? I am trying to get a board with as realistic acoustic piano sounds as possible.

  • @saidder Yamaha has a new one coming out called the s70. It has 73 weighted action keys. I haven't heard it yet.

I bought a korg Sv1. I think it has better acoustic piano than the Nord. I think the electric piano sounds are just as good as are the clav. sounds. I don't care for the organ sounds but it has weighted action and only 73 keys. Great Rhodes sounds.

  • Excellent video! Thanks for sharing.

  • what does MK mean?

  • mark

  • thanks

  • MK meaning the different versions of the instrument. I.E. Rhodes MK II (2) meaning the second release of the fender Rhodes as an instrument, If I'm wrong I'm sure that in the blink of an eye some well informed youtuber will correct me in the blink of an eye ...

  • 3:37 = Used in Vampire Weekend "A Punk"

  • the mellotron boys choir sound, sounds a lot like Atom Heart Mother (Pink FLoyd)!

  • "sorry about the video qulity . its great!"

  • I like the Taxi theme @ 1:08.

  • the beverly hills cop was good until the tiny bit at the end but still cool

  • Upright Rain Piano

    Uauuw!

  • Upright Rain Piano makes me wanna play "You NEver Give Me Your Money" !!!!

  • was you playing atmosphere at 1:03, if so whats the title?

  • I just bought one of these, I can't wait until it comes! Thank you, the demo was very helpful =)

  • what's the song you are playing on Rhodes Mk 1 Deep?

  • the original is called 'Angela' but I think it's better known for being the theme in 'Taxi' :D

  • thanks!

  • oh i love that tune! i think it was sampled in hieroglyphics - cab fare

  • great demo and nice playing!!!!!

    thanks

  • Man, NORD should be paying you for all these demos !!

    Very useful info !!

  • Very helpful. Thanks :o)

  • Daym dawg, I really want me one of these keyboards

  • it seems to 'cut' off ? when you let go of the notes, no release... and i'm sure with a good keyboard controler (Midi) and logic studio pro 8, you could get the same/better sort of sounds out of that! for cheaper :)

  • sure if you download them illegally ! ;D 50€ for the keyboard !

For me it's better to control 'analogly' the knobs, etc. So computer will never be the same ^^

  • i know what you mean, but if you have a good keyboard controler with faders/knobs then you can assign away :)

  • Yes, I didn't think about it ! But in anyways I prefer pay more for a Nord ! :p

  • a mellotron does not have release...

  • okay, but do you know what i mean ?

i didn't mean release specficaly.... the notes seem to quickly CUT off when he lets go? if you see what i mean (more on the acoustic instruments)

  • It cuts off because he is switching to a new sound.

  • i meant more letting go of each note, but as you mention that....for the price of one of these you would of thought it could handle changing sample/patchs without cutting and just keep the reverb going or something :)

  • yes, that is because it is a model of a mellotron, which also cuts off the sound on the release of each note

  • Comment removed

  • Great demo man! Very usefull...

  • No sabia que tiene tantos sonidos! , y de tan buena calidad! asombroso, gracias por el video, ahora pienso comprar uno!

  • can u freakin play something long instead of mixing up some 2secs of random stuff

  • When you download sounds from the library, upon machine turn-on, do you have to reload samples into ram every time, or are they immediately available upon switch-on?

  • Upload another video testing "Rain Piano", please. Thanks

  • no, the electro 3 is monotimbral. Anyway, MathaeusBech, for your next video, idk, for the Hammond you can show off the lesile simulation, and the different organs such as the vox, and farfisa. As for the effects, you could use the auto-wah to show off the clavinet, tremelo for the wurli, the reverb with different settings, and the EQ with some of the pianos and organs. Your video was good for this demo, but you could have played a little longer for some of the sounds, but it was really good

  • Is this electro 3 multitimbric? Could you play organ and a piano at the same time? Thanks

  • As pianodave said it isn't, but you can split the organ in to a lower part and a upper part with two different drawbar settings, I will be showing you how it works in my demo of the organ soon :D

  • Hi everybody!

I'm really sorry that i haven't posted the other part of the video yet, and i really have no excuse other that i haven't started filming it yet.

I was just wondering if there is anything I can do better video wise for the Hammond + Effects demo?

I will start filming this week and it should be live sometime next week, so stick around, feedback will be appreciated

    Cheers :D

  • Thanks for posting this bro! I'm buying one of these as soon as it gets to the music store...it couldn't take any longer...hehe...

  • nord electro 3 is a pretty damn good keyboard

  • Electro 2 or Electro 3?? which one would you guys rate as im deciding which on to get and there is a huge price difference and just wana get some ideas of what people think of the 2 compared cheers xmattx

  • I never tried both of them, but which I can say ; the Electro 3 is almost the same than 3, he as more intern memoral, more sounds on it.

    But it's more expansive.

& I would advice you the Nord Stage !

  • I've been using the Nord 2 because the semi-weighted keys are a good compromise for playing piano then organ and it travels well. The Nord 3 has more internal memory and better piano sounds but the fully weighted keys have stopped me from buying it because I use the Nord mostly for it's B3 simulation.

  • Nord 3 doesn't have fully weighted keys, they still have Fatar 61/76 waterfall keybeds!

  • I say Electro 3 all the way. Yes, there's a huge price difference, but the Electro 3 has the ability to download sounds from the Nord Wave library (which includes the awesome mellotron, among TONS of other great sounds); the Electro 2 is limited to what's onboard. Plus, with the Electro 3 you get the Farfisa and Vox organs, which I'm not sure are on the Electro 2. But just for the Nord Wave Library alone, I saved up and got the Electro 3...and with no regrets.

  • version II is much better!!!!

  • paulcaravello = dick

  • you're a dick.

  • si ma... ke pippa sto qui.

  • When is part 2 coming out?

  • strings quartett sounds great

  • Bring on all those thumb-downs for my opinion that the mighty Mellotron(TM) sounds don't seem worth all the fuss

The patches you made yourself are cool though - the very idea of being able to make it play your own samples is.. worth the fuss!

  • Although the keyboard has some excellent sounds Rhodes, Whirly A200, B3 and Clav, there seem to be a number of sounds that don't seem to be that dynamic...or useful. The pianos are OK, but I prefer thae ones in my Kurzweil PC2X. I'd like to know the price of this unit. For the basic four electro-mechanical keys, an electro2 with the software upgrade will probably give you everything you need.

  • I agree with you...i prefer the the Pianos of my PC3...they sound way better then these one...but the Rhodes MK is amazing.

You can get the 61 notes for 2400 CAD$

  • JDV,

Thanks for the information. I alaso agree that the piano sounds in the Kurzweil are far better than the ones available in the Electro #. My PC2X blows then away...In fact, my old Kurz. PC88 which is late

1990's vintage has better piano sounds than the electro. I own 2 Rhodes EP's a 1976 73 note stage, and a 1977 73 note suitcase, and the Rhodes piano sounds in the Nord are virtually identical in quality...at a much lesser hauling weight.

    Keep playing great.

    Robert

  • Is it necessary to load mellotron sounds each time you turn it on? BTW, how come your clip description mentions only pianos?

  • que caño

  • anyone know what the REAL differences between an Electro 3 and Stage are?

  • there's a synth on the stage

  • Stage:

Multitimbral, synth section, delay, capable of using amp sim, leslie and compressor simultaneously, patch naming and more intuitive patch navigation, panel function, amount knobs for effects, MIDI controller, pitch stick / mod wheel.

    Electro 3:

Increased RAM memory, sample playback (mellotrons, strings, horns, pipe organs and more, and also user custom samples), frequency modulation effect, improved organ/leslie, more organ presets (these also include vib/cho and perc settings).

  • That's a really useful comparision! I actually didn't realize it, but the electro 3 is probably closer to what I need - I thought the stage EX could do everything the electro could do and more - actually is almost does less

  • Yeah it has a synthsection. You can layer (or according to Nord: "panel A/B") sounds. It has a pitchbend and a modwheel. And a bunch of other stuff.

  • how much does it cost?

  • just like your mom's tits

  • haha, nice!

  • when's the Nord Electro 3 Demo (Part 2) gonna be up?? we want more! :)

  • please demo the organs, hammond farfisa vox. thanks

  • Thanks for posting this. I couldn't find any demos of the harpsichord or vibes. I would love to hear the Wurlitzer as well. Thank you!

  • Comment removed

  • What was the song intro you were playing on the first piano parts and then repeated when you played the celeste, etc.?

  • ottimi suoni ma tenera esuzione :-)

  • how much is this keyboard. I can't find it on sale in the US?

  • that's probably because it's not up for retail in the states yet. I heard it should be coming to the US during the 2nd quarter of the year. as for the price it's £1399 for the 61 key model and £1599 for the 73 key model, which is roughly $1937 and $2214 respectively

  • Thank you very much, not sure if i should get the electro or the stage. I first i wanted the electro 2 and then I saw your video of the 3. i like the fact that one can download sounds into the electro 3.

  • Are those prices MSRP?

  • Thank you so much!

The extra sound (harp, mallets...) come from the mellotron library or not ? I don't know very well the original mellotron sounds... :( )

  • Awesome demo thanks so much! Can't wait to hear the organs!

Those mellotron samples were sweet. #8 makes me think Strawberry Fields Forever, and #9 sounds just like Got to Get You Into My Life.

I hope to get one of these as soon as I can!

Anyone know when they'll be available in the states?

  • Can you edit envelope settings on the samples you load, even if only on the PC? ie if I have a string sample can I lengthen its sustain? I know you can't do it with the keyboard controls but can you do it on the PC?

  • Nice "roses" intro!

  • There's without reverbration?

  • hahahahaha Beverly Hills Cop... great demo of the Electro 3. what kind of amp/speakers/whatever your using are you running it out of?

  • Its running directly into my computer :D

  • thanks for this video guy ! it's allways a pleasure to discover some bits of the NE3 soud... i just can't wait the organ section demo... then i'll run to my music store to buy me one !!!

  • thats so sweet i cannot wait to pick one up.

the sounds are really great but it would be great to hear more of low end on the rhodes and whirly.

    great demo though!

how much did you get it for?

  • Nice video dude.

    Quit long but very cool!

You are seriusly good, and no lessons :O

    5 stars!
