OK. Meijer invented the supercenter concept!! The parking lot in awesome. When you come out you can ride your cart. Cuz the lot in slanted.225,000 to be exact!
I worked in the office for 2 years before the big let go in '03. I really enjoyed the people I worked with. Many of us came back as contractors, but now that's going south. Meijer could have been where wal-mart is now if they had played their cards right when they had the chance.
Meijer still has that chance!!!!!!!! And if YOU worked @ corp like you said you know why they aren't that big!!!! This is not open for public debate.!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to work for them too. All big box retailers are evil. Smiley face or no smiley face, when you are a salary manager you give your life up. As a team leader or assistant manager you have no life but work.
Unless its high level management, jobs in big box retail are never going to to be meaningful and lucrative. They're just entry level stepping stones and stop gaps on the way to more promising careers. No offense, but based on that, I don't know why people complain about such jobs. The menial tasks and anal management is par for the course. I like shopping at meijer. But like you, I would not pursue a career as a red shirt.
Used to work for these dummies. Hates the employment after the first seven months working at the College Green Dr. and Randall Rd in Elgin store #183.
Thats my home meijer on Alpine. I've just saw that Plainfield opened the new one behind the current one, What are they doing to the old one. That raggety one on 28th Kalamazoo needs to demolished and build a Super Walmart on the SE side of K'zoo/ 28th.
Wow, I guess that they are going to tear down 50% of Ken-O-sha woods, That was my favorite woods to walk in when I used to go to Ken-o-sha elem sch. Well about time for a new meijers, I guess I better get back and enjoy that raggety butt-hole ghetto k'zoo/28th meijers when I get back this year before it closes.

Construction on a larger Meijer behind the current run-down kzoo/28th location is to begin in '09. Not a moment too soon, either. What a dump!

Lansing needs a least couple more meijers, like at U.S. 27 north of Turner and near Post office by Collins and Jolly Rd, and maybe Dimondale.
