sory to burst your bubble but teh show isnt even real - most realioty shows arent - tim sykes said " and pretty much every scene was staged (I kicked over my fan about 7 times until we got the right take)" google it wher are they now
Heard that it is being shown everywhere except the U.S. I just do not get it since it happen in 2008. The producers should just wrap up the trilogy and DVD it as a complete series and market the h*ll of it! I pay $30-$40 for the series.
I like to by the trilogy box set in DVD. I wish they continue with the same people but I think they seem to had it at the end of the season and quit the series. I wish it were a commercial hit; they could just pay the people to continue on with the next seasons. Oh well; I will be happy when or if it is release in the next few months or years. It is a dynamic series; much better then any HBO stuff!
who gives a a fuck about tim sykes. he's weak in character. made 1+ million plus in micro-cap during a bull season over four years. starts a hedge fund and gets crushed. there are millions of those same aspirations happening everyday. the market will crush you, don't think your ever bigger then it.
According to TIm SYkes, he says the showing is having trouble finding a company to air it, "probably because it shows some big shot losing tons of money so its unclear as to when and if ever being that with everyday that passes it becomes more outdated."
@LawrenceLugar1 I hear what you are saying, but many that have lots of experience in options lost money during the 08 time period. While they were in the middle of it, it was difficult to see what is easy to see now. I could make enough money to buy a porsche without having things go down that much with options if I had the benefit of knowing what happened.
i hated sykes above all. tim was his first name. he lost all of his money in stocks and know has a paid website to trade penny stocks. what a joke, brett from s2 was way better
@Fo0dman he didn't lose all of his money idiot he lost 30% of it, and he has made another million trading stocks so is slightly above where we was before he lost it. check his website you idiot he has live trades and is still making money and calling trades....
Great show, loved the opening and the past seasons. Also Just for all the haters CNBC is the best. Bloomberg sucks and so does fox news. Dont give CNBC too much.
I heard that it was released overseas but not in the U.S. and Europe. I guess they are not able to find an outlet in these places. I just do not get it! It the greatest reality show of all time.
In closing, to all the young aspiring bankers out there; WSW is not Wall Street. The real money is made by dudes way above those guys pay grade. Its not nearly as sexy as the show portrays. Did you guys hear that "De Chimay" from season 1 is getting charged for imbezzlement? That guy must have been killin it!.. not. And the real interesting story about 2008 should follow the quants with PHD's from the big banks not floor brokers from WSW season 3. Do your research b4 you set your heart on bankin
My first huge objection to this show is the amount of importance they place on floor trading. They have several features on the Chicago floor and then a feature on a "market maker" on the NYSE floor. COME ON! Everything is electronic these days. The Wall Street they are portraying is prehistoric. Open-cry pits?!?!?! come on, a Goldman trader at 200 West street can make the same trades and its the new "killin it". This show is glorifying an old regime. This may appeal to nieve newbs, but thats it
@CosmoHunter24 Entertaining is my whole objection! Floor trading in the United States should have been abolshed years ago.. the same time the other G8 nations went electronic. It just shows that floor trading in the US is a gimick and represents less than 1% of real finance on Wall Street. If anyone thinks that WSW is a legit look at Wall Street, than they are delusional. I can guarantee that there aint no MD's from any bulge brackets sharing a beer next to Sykes in that "pub" scene from season1
@CosmoHunter24 Mad Money makes me want to puke inside my mouth and then swallow it again... thats how much I hate that show. Q: "Is Bear Stearns still a buy?" A: (Cramer) "Yes, Bear Stearns is still a buy." 30 days later they file for bankruptcy. This may be the one thing we can agree on, Mad Money is absolute garbage. I rather eat my dinner out of a dumpster than take advice from that retard.
you and your "real" financial buddies are just a bunch of EMPLOYEES working for the owners of a firm. What we are interested in is for those guys, THE OWNERS, THE RISK TAKERS, THE GUYS WHO HAVE THE BALLS TO FACE THE MARKET WITH THEIR MONEY AND BEAT IT..so if its a little guy like Sykes or is it a big banker, they both are the same KIND of person...and what people like and respect is to those guys, the RISK TAKERS, like the Gladiators in the past. Nobody cares about the EMPLOYEES working for them
@agethecage85 lol you are so naive..."i can guarantee that there aint no MD's from any bulge brackets sharing a beer next to Sykes"??...oh really??, how interesting, i love your data... you nerd..........what you have to understand is that NOBODY likes or even respect to the "typical wall street quant nerd" who is locked in his deck calculating financial risks on some financial fantasy instrument...just to end fucking it up....the guy who you are talking about are just financial nerds and SLAVES
@agethecage85 Floor trading abolished....obviously you don't know any floor traders or former floor traders. The Real Wall Street you speak of, is full of guppies that mostly make less than $300k, that would be homeless, without their year-end bonus. There is a gross misconception that if someone works for a bank or a hedge fund that they are automatically "wealthy." In reality, only 10% of the employees at banks and hedge funds make millions. Get over yourself.
@agethecage85 And who gives a fuck about an MD, when hedge fund managers like David Tepper, John Paulson, Jim Simons and the like are making BILLIONS a year. $10 million won't even buy you a starter house in the Hamptons, fuck boy.
@agethecage85 agreed but floor trading is still funny to look at. im pretty sure in the next 10 years people will realize its just a waste of time....
there has to be something more than it not being picked up by a channel...it has great production quality and lots of interest behind it....unless they are waiting for Wall Street 2 to come out. Strange...
Last update I've seen was in early 2010 by Timothy Sykes (star of season 1) saying that he was still in contact with the producers and they hadn't found a new network to pick up the show.
Considering it's taken this long it looks unlikely that it'll air. Even the official WSW website doesn't have any further info on season 3.
When is Wall Street Warriors season 3 going to come out? People are waiting for it's release. How long more do we have to wait? There is a lot of demand out there for it. I think it will be a great show and a great boost for all of us.
totally agree with ricstonx: reality tv meets wallstreet,...cnbc or fox??? hahaha...i see mtv or oxigen picking this up.. the united states financial system is really one big joke..one tick closer to crumbling!
WTF? l cant believe the comments im reading, r all u under 18 yrs.? Past seasons were the worst of people tht come outta WSt.this shows, Its a sad attempt @ glramorizin "makin $" believe it or not, but fund mngrs actually have imprtnt duties thn bein on an effin show, tryn to b famous instead! dumb effin childs.
Interesting that you hate it so much but kept watching long enough to form an opinion. Like a lot of people you are happy to find something you can spend time hating.
Your comment reveals a lot more about unresolved problems in your life and how you are finding a nonconstructive outlet for anger.
@kosai19 Right, thats exactly what i did :) I take it you enjoy watching young/inexperienced 'fund managers' appearing on a show! Only to think, "geez, i wish my broker at CharlesSchwab took some time out to be on (and look good for) a show! Oh, how i wish!" oh wait, enter WSW and now theres a 3rd season? = a JOKE. Look, perhaps for ent purposes....fine, but to actually admire these FOOLS, c'mon get serious.
They are real people sudo-acting in a dramatized television program. Tim Sykes even mentioned that he wasn't mad when he kicked the fan in season one, the Mojo producers asked him to do this and it took about 6 takes. Also, notice how little detail is given to what these people actually do. The target audience wouldn't understand so they dumb it down.
It's obviously entertainment. The producers aren't trying to pretend this is real so how can you?
@CosmoHunter24 Well, first off, CNBC tries (and I stress TRIES) to report the only important stories in the business / finance world. WSW does not even come close to becoming something they should try and promote. CNBC should totally air a show that promote Sykes fund over funds like Greenlight, SAC, Paulson, Ackman, or anyother tier 1 fund for that matter..... NOT! They're aren't even in the same league. And I am only touching the surface. This show is a joke
@CosmoHunter24 If anyone wants some real insight into 2008; read "Street Fighters" by Kate Kelly, "The Sellout" by Gasparino, "Too big to fail" by Sorkin, or "The Big Short" by Lewis. They are all very entertaining and informative and none of the WSW garbage.
@CosmoHunter24 You're absolutely right, I only watch CNBC for the live market data on the ticker at the bottom of the screen. Oh wait, I get that directly to my Bloomberg Terminal.
I wish someone would pick this up and get it on the air, inside the markets during such a time of crisis why does no one want to pick it up, baffling!
Saw 2 episodes on a plane flight.... bummer that no station wants to broadcast it....
This season is really cool coz they were in a bear market and set in Chicago, including 2 persons from Think or Swim and 2 hilarious brokerage brothers
For those asking when it comes out... my understanding is that they don't have a network to bring the show to right now... This preview was made a while back... in February of '09.
