  • JGB and GD shows were the best until In The Dark came out. Then you would see people driving BMW's with huge Dead stickers. Eventually, these new fans brought heat to the scene before the shows and many, many people who followed them and counted on selling their art or whatever before the shows, got shut down by cops, yuppies and others moving in on merchandising and scalping tickets and selling bad drugs. But once inside and the music started, it was good times.

  • Beautiful!

  • There are more than a couple of moments in this tune that combine what these Jerry songs are all about, like when he fist pumps!

  • JUST what i needed today. thanks you!

  • It was A hot show, hot sisters And jerry ripping melody through my head!

  • I would like to thank the person who posted this, GRATE stuff ! I would also like to thank everyone who was at this show. Our GOOD VIBRATIONS transcends into and through the band and music we love. This performence is a perfect example. And I would also like to thank the 1 person who clicked dislike on part 1. You not doing the same thing on part 2 & 3 only validates your opinion, of which I will probably never understand. Peace, Love & SSSOOUULLLL! ',_,'

  • This show was mind blowing. I remember that it was real hot for November and Hamptom Coliseum was poorly vented. During set break people were falling out everywhere, including me. I want to give a thank you to the cool medical staff there that kept the cops away from us while we rehydrated. This song and the rest of the set was perfect to sit back, chill, cool off and enjoy Jerry do his thing . I have never before or since been moved by a performance that could even come close to this.

  • I remember this show more than a lot. This song more than most I have seen. We (All Five of us) fgot chills and didn't need to talk, just look at each other with tears....Awesome experience....

  • Hampton shows...what a true pleasure.

  • Very many thanx for the upload Texaskaje. I did not see this one, but saw far many up and down the East Coast and some at Cow Palace SF. I think for a lot of us, it was a kind of 9/11 when he passed, don't mean to define the real 9/11 and it's tragedy in this way, but I hope people know what I really mean

  • @PlanTonto I dont know many, Id bet to many it was more like the apocolypse of the world, until they realized that life goes on.

  • 1st JGB show. This was the exact mental imprint... forever.

Thanks so much for the post

  • It have been 15 years 2 months since my last Dead show as of this post. I miss the family and the overall vibe you would receive at any of the boys side projects. Not may of the show I have been to are posted on here but this is one. The reason I find my self here is with the anniversary of Jerry's passing I always find myself watching any and all vids I can. I WILL NEVER FORGET the joy and kindness I found with others who loved this style of music. RIP Jerry.

  • I agree with all of the comments below. The amount of emotion this song at this show evokes never fails to amaze me. This was one of my most favorite nights, ever. Still, effinmissim. Love him and you all so much. :)

  • Awesome!I Thank you SO much for posting. Best. Have heard this version before and it's nice to see it.

  • that was just beautiful

  • This was the best show of my life and to this day brings me back to that night. One of the best performances from Jerry, ever. Tears and memories.

  • other than my two girls and my wife, I'd give just about anything for one more show with Jerry

  • 4:45 totally brought tears to my eyes

  • @JBCopland to the eyes down the cheeks, dribblin' on the chin & onto the keyboard. Guess we meant it when we said our love wouldn't fade away. They told him not to go, but Jerry did what he wanted didn't he?- nice to see some of my family didn't exit stage right with Jerry. i miss the whole experience terribly.((((love to my family that's left out there))))

  • I've got a scrapbook of ticket stubs to lots of concerts, but not one of them comes close to any of the nights I spent in the same room with ole Jer. Miss him just about every day.

  • Made me cry

  • Jerry epitomized the meaning of the word soul. I believe that he was truly happy when he played with the JGB or David Grisman. Although Iam sure he enjoyed playing with the GD I believe that it contributed to his death. Man I miss Jerry so much.

  • Best tour of his life, I believe - amazing show and double album it was what made me love his music. Nothing like Hampton.

  • Fantastic...what a treat.....unmeasureable

  • That was a freakin blockbuster shining star..the singing back and forth gave me goose bumps and made the hair stand up on the back of my neck..still does listening to it again 16 years later.

  • Eloquent, beautiful, brilliant !!!

Jerry will always be our shining star... love that an astroid bears his namesake peace and love

  • Now that is what technology is for! I think that this might be my first post ever! That is why I am screaming sorry. JGB ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very sweet indeed.

  • Simply incredible, words are totally inadequate. Accept it folks, sad to say but there will never be another Jerry

  • I love the smile he gets when the audience takes over his vocal part!

  • @texaskaje I had the honor of being one of the fans singing =) A truly incredible experience. Only my second JGB show, but my 100+ seeing Jerry perform. Every show was like experiencing it for the 1st time. This was one of my most memorable shows because I was holding my daughter at the time. Peace

  • @luverofmusic1 I remember lots of children being at this show. When I walked in, the front right part of the floor near the stage was tons of children, their parents and balloons. Miss those days.

  • @luverofmusic1 Dude same here dont know if white fluff caused this but was the floor not covered in an inch of water at end of show? This tune altered me forever-Ive seen about 60 JGB shows and several 1oo Dead shows and this was one crazy mother(ship)!

  • simple sweet
