I'm a big fan of Grant and having Starks is just priceless, he's a protypical running back, elusive, strong, FAST, and not afraid to lower that helmet and bang ya hard for extra yardage. This kids got a great home witht the greatest team ever in the NFL. GO GREEN AND GOLD!
Just wait until he becomes fully integrated into the offense. Once they work on some of his route running and downfield catching Rodgers will be able to dial up some vicious adjustments out of the I- Form. Think about this, Packers come out in a standard I-form with Jennings Nelson out wide, Finley at TE with Starks and Kuhn in the backfield. Defense responds with a 43 and then OH SNAP James Starks motions to the slot and suddenly you have a kick *** spread offense.
I love the vid, and love me some James Starks. From watching his old highlights I'm left the impression that even in his heroic playoff performances he was still just scratching the surface. Get this kid a full NFL offseason and 16+ games of action and look out NFL, he'll be a special piece of this offense if he can stay healthy.
disagree, well see who starts i bet anything starks he is alot more toughh when he runs een tho i like grant....have them go at it in training camp ill be there!!! Go Pack Superbowl 2012 yeah promise
Ok, so Grant and Starks as a one two punch gives me a boner thinking about it, but that one two punch with A-Rod tossin the ball around with JMike coming back? I just jizzed myself. Dynasty in the making. GO PACK GO!!!
@lifegoson8 you know what my favorite part about starks is, the kid has got some damn good hands too. I think it got lost in translation last year when he was plowing defenders over but the guy catches everything that comes his way.
With all due respect, Starks is a great halfback, and even better than Brandon Jackson. But I believe it is nearly a guarantee that Ryan grant shall remain our starter for the 2011 season just as long as he stays healthy. Starks is great and all, but NEVER forget what Grant has done for us the past 3 seasons. He started off even giving us a running game, nevermind the fact he has had back-to-back 1200+-yard seasons. Glad you're here with us though Starks!!!
@youngg4eva3 I have to agree honestly. Grant was the starting running back and hes shown what he can do. And im not sure but didnt he get injured on like a 21 yard run?? lol yeah grants good! hes the starter I just hope it all works out for Buck and i really wanna see him play.
@lifegoson8 Yep, one of our guys blocked for Grant at the e4nd of the play, and the guy he shoved wound up pushing his fellow defensive player down, which of course that lead to him rolling Grant's ankle. Sad, so sad. But, he's been all smiles ever since approximately 4 months after the incident, so I take that as a good sign!
@lifegoson8 Yeah, people forget that Grant was starting to turn it on in that game. He never comes out fast, but as the game progresses, he starts picking up big chunks of yardage very often.
Starks, though, is a definite stud. An obvious third-down back with his pass-catching ability and pass-blocking skills. I'm excited to see him and Grant go at it for the job.
Oh, and don't forget the return of this Finley kid. That might help our offense a tad.
This is a great video man! i was cheering for this guy on day one. Biggest packer fan right here! My prediction;James Starks will be the best running back in 2011- 2012
@TylerThrashPeace haha good stuff! i just met him tuesday. he came back home and he walked into the library of the high school i met him shook his hand and got an autograph. hes on eof the nicest people ive ever met
@lifegoson8 Thats awesome dude! yeah i can see hes a really nice guy with good character in interviews with him. thats one of the reasons why i liked him alot. Are you from his home town or something?
@TylerThrashPeace Yeah in fact i go to the same high school he went to. thats how i met him. he came to visit and walked in the library of our school. it was a silent library then i saw him walk in and i yelled ITS JAMES STARKS! lmao i got his autograph. and idk if u know this person but Jonny Flynn And James Starks both went to my high school. if u dont know flynn plays in the NBA for the timberwolves
@lifegoson8 oh hell yeah, i live in minnesota. Of course i know who jonny flynn is. hes really good, he just has to stay healthy. but thats cool you go too the same high school as they did haha thats bomb. the high school i went to had nobodies. its probably cause you have the falls, nf probably just magically impowers everyperson that lives around there to be some super beast lol
@TylerThrashPeace Oh lol. Well idk if u knew this but starks was a QB in high school. Buffalo recruited to play i think corner. Then he transisted to RB and basically set every school record there was.And going back to Jonny. He was on the team that my hs won states. It was Jonny (D-1 Syracuse, NBA), Rob garrison (D-1 UCONN then transfered to Niagara), Tyrell Lynch (D-1 UMASS), Paul Harris (D-1 Syracuse , NBA D League, Pros Overseas) , and Greg Gamble (D-1 Buffalo), and Starks was 6th man
pack fan from GB here. we've been looking for a long time for an RB like starks. still can't believe we got him in the 6th rd. looking forward to seeing him next year more than any other player. SUPER BOWL CHAMPS BABY

@youngg4eva3 -- Packers Goal: Grant & Starks to Get Equal Number of Rushing Attempts --
Tue Sep 6, 2011 --from FFMasterminddotcom
My gut instinct tells me its only a matter of time before Starks is starter and getting majority of carries.

James Starks, Ryan Grant, Brandon Jackson and John Kuhn.... amazing set of runningbacks even if the stats dont show it.
